Bishop C6-F8 Queen F7-G7 Checkmate. Even if black Queen takes Pawn E5, you still continue to play with a bishop and queen right up against the king. Would have been interesting to see that play out a bit more. Guess I'm not seeing what Anna was so she took it to a draw. Dunno, I'm not chess master.

The problem white has is, if you play something like bishop f8, then black's queen can take on e5 and cover the g7 square. White is very much winning, but there's no knockout and that's pretty stressful if you have 5 seconds on your clock.
@JuliusBjornsson3 ай бұрын
@@TomVennixyou’re right. Taking the draw, might have been a good decision. I think the best move would have been to play Bd6 and black would lose another pawn with a much weaker king

@@kurtiskuchcinski2628 yeah thats what i thought, the game would be prolonged although white's position would be better. the white pawns could advance and for the black Q to move, white Q could eat those black pawns and be on pawn advantage. She could have won but she still has this time problem, like her mother tho
@AnthonySouls3 ай бұрын
@@kurtiskuchcinski2628 I don't think Qxe5 would delay it by much. Wouldn't Qxg6 basically seal the deal? I think it would take around 3 moves for a checkmate, but I am bad at visualizing moves, lol. Yeah, I analyze the game with stockfish, and it doesn't show any checkmates within the top 10 moves. Qe8+ was the move it said was best. The bishop one was the 4th best move, and the black gets their queen to e5 and f6 to foil it.
