This ladder reset i found the best runes possible in nightmare (ko in a1 just before countess who dropped io) and an ist near shenk. I never found a single 4 os sword or even a decent pally shield so i had to trade the runes so i could make my spirits.... that's never happened before to me.

Just goes to show how difficult it is to estimate accurately from your own experience. It's gonna feel like 1100 runes have dropped *way* before 1100 runes have actually dropped. Especially for slower players who don't farm at very high efficiency.

Exactly what i predicted in the early streams, A few hrs that are cubed up to cham, and a clean cham drop. And it all would take less than 100 hours gametime. So many in chat told me it will take months, hundreds of hours or even thousand hours. haha, no way josé

For accurate luck calculations you have to go for a predefined number of runes. Your algorithm of stopping, when you find a big one (to complete Zod) introduces a bias towards higher luck

That title explains why I'm glad I don't take the game seriously. I don't have the patience to farm for ANYTHING for that long. Also make that 3 times Llama pulled his shirt off in excitement: Tyrael's Might, Mang Song's, and the Zod Rune (unless I'm forgetting one)

As a statistician, I'm very, VERY enamored by this video and this concept. However, I do find my right eye twitching when you mentioned a Sur and an Ohm rune that were discarded. How were they taken into account in the statistics? Because they should count for your luck, even if the final Cham at the same time and place would have ended the run.

That’s how most of us got a Zod. Cubing up to it 2 Chams. Dropping a Zod is so daym rare you could play your hole life and still not drop one in game.

KEEP IN MIND PEOPLE. It also takes 89 hours to beat Red Dead Redemption 2! So instead of searching for a single rune in a game you have been playing for hours and days and months and years. You could have played one of, if not THE BEST game ever made (RDR2) instead of doing mindless MF runs to find......zod.....lol

Maybe for some, but i play solo bnet and i found 2 chams in about 300 hours. I would say that is pretty lucky though

Yep. The idea of upgrading up from El is ridiculous. But from a rune 3 or 4 below Zod it's not. It's actually quite possible with enough grind.

you are actually not reading that right, theres 3 numbers off screen. its 14 trillion, not billion. someone on reddit did the fun math, if all 14 trillion els were laid out on the ground and you were able to pick up 350 of them per minute, it would take you 78k years to pick them all up.

@@johnmorris8444It's not the hours that count, it's how fast you play and how many mobs you kill. Maybe you're just nad at estimating that and comparing the wrong numbers to Llama's result

It falls right into the range of 1 HR every 10-20 hours on average, which Llama has stated he tends to see, as do I. But the important part is that it's not the hours that count, it's how many mobs you kill in that time. Maybe you're just less efficient at farming.

@@manso306 well I never kept track of my CS farming numbers but I have leveled half a dozen characters into the mid 90s on almost exclusively CS and I have never seen a HR drop there. I did however keep track of my LK runs and I did 5200 over 2 week and a half weeks and only got 2 ohms, a vex and a Lo. LK was not nice to me even on players 7 with a 2 campfires next to the WP map I rolled.

@@johnmorris8444idk how many times you need to run chaos for mid 90s (especially pre-TZs), but there's a thread on jsp calculating the chance of at least 1 HR over x runs (p1). Comes out to 100 runs -> 16% // 1k runs -> 83% // 10k runs -> 99.99%. Again, that's at least 1 HR, odds are very high that over 10k runs you'd find multiple, and on p3-7 the numbers improve by a lot of course. Statistics from other threads as well as things like loot-videos, and as my own experience (maybe around 1k runs? hard to tell) is 1 HR every couple 100 runs or so on average. Your LK luck seems to be very bad too (edit: Like, extremely bad to the point that I'd recommend you return there as statistically any such dry-spell has got to end and even out eventually ... I've looked at a few statistics of 10k runs and compared them to "expected values" and your HRs are almost ridiculously low).... But are you zooming in? It seems to me that runes especially tend to get crowded out, and often it's not enough to run around to pick up the gold even when it doesn't seem extremely cluttered afterwards.
