The direction between astern and abeam is 'quarter', not 'broad'. So 'The wind is on the starboard quarter' or 'We were running with a quartering swell' or "The ship was approaching from the port quarter but passed safely astern'.

Hey Good morning y'all, hey with all the issues you guys have with an electric auto pilot, can you not do a wind-vane as a back up or even just as a primary auto pilot? Or do wind-vanes not work that way? Awesome video.

100% we could get a wind-vane. We want a wind vane. That’s way Saoirse name on the stern is offset, we want to put one in. But alas, they are quite an expensive piece.
