The fact that the parents let their kid dress and be who they wanted, now look. The kid has grown into the adult she wanted to be and was allowed to have her happiness because of her families support. Imagine how many other kids are forced to dress or be the way their parents want, never given the opportunity to be themselves, grow up and have depression, suicidal thoughts, who marry who they think they need to marry, never being happy because they could never be themselves. And then so many ppl are surprised when someone as an adult comes out as trans, they say "but you never dressed like a woman before" well yeah because they were raised to be a boy because they were born a boy. They weren't allowed to dress or do what they wanted.

@Summer Wright: Hehe, thanks for the response. I get what you say, but let me explain why I respond here. Throughout a couple of visits to support groups for transgender people I've more than ever realized that, not only I have been lucky physically (with how my body turned out after boy puberty), but also socially, my parents are supportive and open (and especially the last part probably played a big role when I was young, for having toys some people probably associate with girls, just as well as having toys some would be more comfortable with seeing only their boys play with) and people at work are accepting just like friends. Being transgender I have joined a local wellbeing organisation that gives informational lessons on high schools in my city, to give children a chance to learn about transgenderism (biology lessons do not always cover it, unfortunately). Just last week, this Wednesday I had a deja-vous kind of feeling after a student used the argument that "You can allways recognize a transgender person by their hands" (probably pointing to the fact that in his opinion every male has big hands), a little less than a year after another student used the argument "You can allways tell a transgender person because of their Adamsapple". This worries me, not only for the fact that they have heard or read this somewhere, but also should, at one day a transgender student become a student there and there would be rumours because people do not know who it is, it's this kind of self-concluded science of certain kind of body characteristics that could make some students start to "clock" every girl that shares certain body characteristics that might deviate from what they consider to be "strictly female". Having them know that it doesn't always work out like that (especially genetics wise, we sometimes explain something about intersexuality as well, when there is time enough) can be a big thing to me, in much the same way as responding here hopefully does for some people.

I am current reading and watching much information about trangenders and I will like to ask: What is suppose to mean to be a woman? What is what makes you a woman? What does it feel to be a woman? What is that exactly?, because I am a woman and I have never felt like a woman or a man. I have never felt that my gender affect personality... :/ Edit: When I made this comment I wanted to open the dialoge about how people relate things to a specific gender. Many people build their personality in what they see in society as female or male. But the biological part of our nature as human beings can't be denied. It is a fact. What is inside us is something diferent. It is upon us.

@politicallyincorrectbeing82016 жыл бұрын
That is how I view gender; smth that you're born with and doesn't determine who you are, it just exists like your height/eye color/skin tone so you just have to go with whatever you have as it's in your genetics and live your life while building your own preferences/life choiced completely away from smth you have between your legs. Now i do not oppose transgenders but i do not support their ideas either, for me they seem that they just enforce some sorta sexism; if you are a boy and say you like pink and sprinkles or if you are a girl who likes trucks and football then smh you are trans? This seems so sexist and closed minded for me i'm sorry i can't be part of such movement.

Ok, I'll try. Transgender women are not men......they are women. When people make these comparisons they are calling transgender women men. When a transgender person who is male bodied takes female hormones the changes on their body are massive. Their fat redistribution is similar to cis-women and there is the development of breasts. There is a lot of muscle loss due to low testosterone. The testosterone levels in transgender women taking estrogen and androgen blockers can and often is lower than that found in cis-women. Their hemoglobin is reduced to the same levels as cis-women (this impacts how much oxygen can get to your muscles). Bone density is lost. If someone starts HRT at a young age there are no signs at all from a male puberty. If someone starts HRT after male puberty they may have a larger frame and bones.....but this is like putting a much smaller engine in a larger car and can often be a disadvantage. The Olympics have allowed transgender athletes to compete for the last 15 years. They have done a lot of research and studies related to transitioning athletes and the impact on the competition itself....you don't see transgender athletes running away with all the Gold medals. Women come in many different shapes and sizes. We don't turn some away because they are too strong, too fast or too tall.....even though that may give them an advantage over other women athletes. The complaints and talking points that are brought up over and over by conservative pundits and talk show hosts....are all based on the same misinformation and lack of any kind of research. The topic itself is fuel for bigots to rant against transgender people while feigning legitimacy. Hope that helps.

I’m glad she gets to be who she truly wants to be now. And I’m glad her parents listened to her wants and are open minded not a lot of parents are like that. She is helping a lot of future trans people by her being so open about her life. It’s good that now everyone as a society is being more accepting of the LGBTQ community! 👌🏻

I never judged anyone for transitioning. But, I did think it was due to a psychological ‘problem’. Again no judgment , I have my own issues lol. Jazz just always knew who she was. She showed me how real it is that people can truly be born ‘misaligned’. Like a chemical imbalance, but physical as well. She just made me “get it”.

Bingo. It's not developmentally possible for a 2 year old to comprehend or verbalise what Jeanette says jazz told her. I'm shocked noone called her out on this blatant bs when she first spewed it.

Jazz Jennings is one of the most impressive young people to emerge in this new era. It is so appropriate that she was born in the year 2000 to ring in a new millennium. What amazing parents who showed the world what unconditional love looks like. I was unsure about what trans was until Jazz was interviewed at age six. I knew then that she was going to be someone to reckon with, her honesty and integrity is a breath of fresh air. You will never be able to know how many lives you've helped and perhaps saved. What a star.

I feel sorry for anyone who does not have any love or compassion in their hearts. Jesus taught us to love on another. Jesus taught us to be compassionate and merciful, to not judge or condemn. Lord knows, she's had enough hardship in her young life. Hopefully, it's going to be smooth(er) sailing from here on out.
