‘It was really horrific!’: we investigate hidden dangers of Botox

Botox - it’s a popular lunchtime tweakment we’ve all become very familiar with.
Many celebrities have long been fans and devotees of the anti-ageing injections, including Simon Cowell, Kim Kardashian, Katie Price, Molly-Mae Hague and Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry.
But just how safe really is it? Here, we spoke to mum-of-three Janine Brockway, as she explained that she reluctantly quit Botox when she realised the jabs were causing heart palpitations and panic attacks.
Not only this, but Dr Saniyya Mahmood, Medical Director of Aesthetica Medical Clinic, also revealed the serious side effects of the cosmetic injections that many aren't aware of, including infection, cysts, brow and eyelid droop, muscle weakness and asymmetry.
While Botox can offer remarkable results in the quest for a youthful appearance, it's crucial to remember that informed decisions are the safest ones.

My son gets botox not for aesthetics but, for extreme dystonia. His muscles spasm constantly and he is almost always flexing and it helps him to relax immensely. We had tried virtually every other remedy we could think of and this is the only thing that has helped. Glad that this info is getting out about the dangers of cosmetic botox but, that doesn't mean all uses are bad.
