OMG I cannot stress how true this is ! I was looking for an answer to what happened to me but I doubted myself at times that I am imaging it. So in February I got botox for first time in my corrugator, procerus, forehead and DAO. When the effect of botox dissipated my eyes became extremely hooded and skin elasticity worsened. This also happened in my DAO and jowls appeared worse. Now I am looking into getting Sunekos to fix all that and thanks to you and your latest video I am trilled there is hope. Botox needs to be studies more for sure.

I turned 30 this year and my skin is not as tight anymore and I'm thinking about getting some extra help. Sadly I late to the skincare game and only started when I was 29. After lots of research I stuck to a simple routine: PM: 0.5 tret + moisturizer. AM: 10% ascorbic acid serum + moisturizer + spf 50. I would love a video on the best skin tighteting procedures or treatments. Red light therapy maybe? RF?

Great question! Keep your skincare as is but look to increase vitamin A content over time as much as poss. Double check your tret because I'm not sure it'll be 0.5 - more likely 0.1%. Unless you're talking about 0.5% retinol. For tightening, red light isn't as powerful as other therapies. RF all over the face is possible and will need several sessions but the results can be limited at times if the skin is just really weak or low quality to start with. Fractional RF Needling with Lutronic Genius is also a great option. Whichever you decide, you'll get better results if you optimise your skin cell function prior. For example, I treat patients with Sunekos all over the face before things like that and they always get a better result.

So if not botox, what would you do to reverse frown lines? How would you shrink & smooth out the frown muscles, if those muscles are already overdeveloped & have started to bulge out a bit? Part of this issue might be due to overuse of those muscles, but part of it may also be due to loss of fat on the forehead.

Well Dr Abs I sure don't hate you. I recently spent a couple of hours with a well known acquaintance and afterwards, I felt like something was really off, but I couldn't quite pin down why. After a little further contemplating, I realised it was because her facial features barely moved; her face was like a boiled egg stripped of its shell. It is her nature to be animated and expressive. Maybe her sense of self worth, which I acknowledge is a complicated concept, declined to such an extent that she chose to pull out all the stops and have Botox injected into her whole face? I'm trying to think about how to talk about this with her. I appreciate you exposing this reality and talking about it

I'd thought about trying "preventative" Botox off and on for a few years, but never did it. Something instinctively didn't feel right about it for me. I had a feeling there may be more consequences down the road. I'm so glad to have seen this video. Now I will certainly never do it.

You're exactly right! Think also about who it is that's saying it's preventive etc - when the manufacturer says it and they have something to gain from it, always take it with a pinch of salt. Glad I could help :D

It does make you look more refreshed like you had a good restful sleep. So that's what I like about Botox. So far no visible side effects. Been doing it for 6 years. Can't get sunekos here in usa sadly. Otherwise I'll definitely do it

Hmm I'd say: [1] Skincare as early as possible in life with as much vitamin A and suncream as you can [2] Light laser or BBL procedures [3] LED therapy but only with Dermalux devices as they're the only ones with a medical licence due to their power levels

You know, I thought of this when I saw women getting Botox facials, I learned that it stops sebum production…..so it seemed to me that treatment would not be beneficial for the skin long-term but that’s just my thinking🤷🏽‍♀️

Botulinum toxin works by causing damage, yes. But it's reversible - hence why effects aren't permanent.

What is the difference between sunekos and jalupro? Any papers?

I've had much better results with sunekos. I believe jalupro to be around 3-4 generations behind sunekos. The formulations show that too in my opinion. The history of how the company was formed is also quite dodgy in my eyes but for legal reasons I can't expand on that

There's lots but the main ones: Profhilo website says collagen 1347, elastin but conveniently fails to mention how much Sunekos can do 1 and 3, but does 4 + 7 + elastin + fibronectin maximally of all products in the world Low weight HA is pro-inflammatory, Profhilo website talks about it being slow release Sunekos uses a tiny amount of low weight but it's gone in 1-2d as it's ridiculous to slowly prolog inflammation They're some of the main differences without going into an essay
