The Pottery Barn foliage! Wow! It’s crazy how much quality faux flowers cost. The little lambs are so cute. And the Martha Stewart piece was beautiful. I think Irf is your lucky charm. ❤

Those PB florals are gorgeous! I had a nice little collection of Cat's Meow several years ago local to my Albany NY area. Had them displayed near windows with a lot of condensation and they basically fell apart but man I loved them
@YOSOBOHO9 сағат бұрын
My mom had a Cat’s Meow collection too, Beverly, from the area we all grew up in. She had them displayed across the tops of door frames. We have no idea where they are now. 🤔 I’ll have to keep an eye out for an Albany NY collection! ❤️

27:25 Hi Amy and Hub wow that was fun just like a treasure hunt. You found some great things. I'm glad you got the flowers. They are high where ever you buy them.They had crazy prices on them. Someone would be out if their mind to give that much for them but they buy them. See you two next time take care

Hi, Peggy! I agree, the prices on those flowers were crazy, but people pay for the name on the label. 🤷🏻♀️ Not me or you, but some people. Lol

You have a great eye Amy. I bought some of those ceramic balls awhile back ( a couple years). I noticed you did not get the ones you had in your cart ;(. I assume because of the value? I have to start buying with my head and not my heart.

Hi, Jacqueline! Thank you. It’s hard to stick to rules, but it’s profitable. I’ll be in touch after the new year. I’ve pulled together a program that will help reseller up their game! I was hoping to start that this year (later summer, early fall) but then we were planning a wedding. 😊

I love anything blue and white and cobalt like your mom! I was sad to see the balls go back but I’m sure they don’t have the resale value you’re looking for. I saw a couple blue and white floral plates you skipped by. Those are called Calico and they’re china. I won’t pay the price they’re asking online but they sure would look good on my blue and white plate wall. Mismatched blue and white plates can sell well. Enjoyed the video as always!
@LindaKayHolevas11 сағат бұрын
So do I! had those same balls & even more of them back in the early 2,000’s. They were from Pier 1. I’m not sure what I did with them, but I really wish I still had them!

I bet your plate wall is beautiful! 😍 I’ve been wanting to do a mis-matched plate listing, but I need to figure out how to collect complimentary plates without having them with me. lol Someday I hope I run into stacks that I can mix and match! 💕

That's criminal they marked those plates $8. Someone probably would have bought them at a reasonable price. Sad. Nice haul! Awesome score on the florals.

I asked a GW store manager if managers spend any time at the bins. Answer no. Those plates were a prime example why they should train a few hours minimum to understand they r wasting product by overcharging. Eliminating color tag sales did nothing to help the bins overload.

I dont unserstand why people get upset with goodwill taking things to the landfill when you all dont want to pick items up that are not dirt cheap. I am sure there is someone not reselling who will be happy to grab those :) Also, you price things well above retail value (after spending $1 on an item you then flip for $100) so im not sure why goodwill is an issue when resellers tend to oversell to begin with. I love watching you and this isnt a personal attack, i just dont grasp why resellers feel the need to get upset over the way businesses run just as much as you run yours a certain way
@YOSOBOHO10 сағат бұрын
I’m not sure about other resellers, but I have no problem paying up for things that will turn a good profit. I don’t need $1 items that sell for $100 (although that makes a good story/video.) I am happy to spend $100 to make $200! But I need to stick to the math that makes sense for my business, since my time is limited. I have to consider profit margin, total profit and sell thru rate. I also don’t price things above retail. I price at or just below sale comps, if there are comps out there. You’re right, it’s a business and we all have to make business decisions. What I get frustrated with is Goodwill pricing good usable things at prices that will never sell. Those plates in the bins were priced $8 a piece (yet worth less than 1/2 that). I talk about this a bit more in tomorrow’s video… but if they price things better on the retail side, things have a better chance of selling because they are on the shelves for weeks and they see a lot more foot traffic. If those plates did sell on the bins side, they may make GW $.50/ea (weight), while if they priced them correctly (maybe $2) on the retail side, they’d likely sell to someone who could use them, even if they sold on a 1/2-price day at $1/ea. With their current pricing strategy, things like those plates will not sell and will be destroyed in the landfill. 🙁 Who is Goodwill pricing them $8 for? A collector? Definitely not an average buyer who needs plates. People who need plates can buy them at the Dollar Tree or Walmart for $1-$2/plate. And how are they determining that price? The planet needs us to produce less and use what’s already here. 🌍 As a reseller and a content creator, I want to talk about these things because I do think that resellers and Goodwill should have a symbiotic relationship.

Omg Amy, you have proved so many things about how bad Goodwills pricing policies are with those daisy plates. Goodwill has to have become the worst garbage making company in the US. And there is no good reason for it. Their policies also prove that they are all about profit and not about having goodwill toward the people that need it!
@YOSOBOHO8 сағат бұрын
Hi, Susan. Thanks for your comment. They have to strike a balance. I understand that they need to make money so they can keep the operation going, but they lack expertise and that’s going to hurt them. Those of us who donate should consider other options. I donate to an independent local thrift store that cares about its community and prices things low. It possible to make a lot of money through setting prices for quick sales.
