Never feel bad about slowing things down, girlies. No one who watches your videos is going to blame you for that, especially after what has happened recently. Make the most of the time you have with AJ. Enjoy every second of it. I lost my 9 year old house bunny in October, and even though he had health problems, and it wasn't unexpected, it still hit me hard. Our pets are our family, and when we lose them, it hurts as much as any other family member. Big hugs to you both and ear scratches for AJ and Summer ❤

So true. Last year was a terrible one, lost Henny my black lab (13) and my Jethers, a soft and affectionate cat (15). Grieved, still do a little, but just before Christmas last year we got a pair of rescue kittens, 14 weeks. They don’t know how to cat and they’re mad asa a bag of frogs, go for walks with us….but they make the world colourful again and bring us madness and love in equal measure. Also have a timeshare in my daughters dog 😊 Lolly

To see if the stone wall is moving - Araldite a small piece of glass across a crack or movement line (microscope slides are good if you can get them - a convenient size and thin). If the stones move, the glass will crack.

@SVImpavidus2 ай бұрын
Hi Ladies. We don't often comment but, thought it may be prudent given Ant's background. To check your movement issues..... By a sheet of 2mm greenhouse glass. It is cheap. Cut strips from the glass that are about 25 mm in width, a glass cutter is cheap! Use an epoxy glue to secure the glass strips at the ends across the joint. Any movement will crack the glass showing you where the movement is. You can also bend the glass strips into a right angle using a blow lamp then secure them with epoxy, to show movement. Ant & Cid xx

Hi guys, hope you’re well! You’ve been watching for a long time! 😃 Our engineer said just make marks on the wall and note the measurement from the render to the door frame. If it moves more than a few centimetres then look into it further. And repeat on the opposing side in case the door frame moves with the wall. Will this not work? It’s not abnormal for a stone wall to present a 30% lean before it finally goes he’s said! 🤷♀️

@@campervibe Hi Ladies. We just flew back from Tunisia. Not been on line for a week. Got back to find our camper start batteries are toast! The service battery is down to 50% SOH so we are going lithium. Oh yea we bought Camper.... 😉 These old buildings move a lot they have to or they would fall down. I would say you need to keep an eye on all the wall. Monitor and watch for sudden and/or excessive movement. Anything more than 3-4 degrees will need to be investigated, possibly braced like we used to do in the UK (Those big S shape's on the outside of old buildings) Just don't sleep under the wall or try to hold it up by hand. 😄 We will be watching tonight now we have WiFi again.. Ant & Cid xx

Once the roof is off don’t bother checking what is happening with that wall, just rebuild it, that will strengthen that end of the cottage significantly, providing support and reducing load on the other sections. If you don’t take that interior wall down and sort the floors you will regret it. Also when you are doing the floor run ducting in for power, data and heating pipes so you can keep all the walls clear. You can also have floor mounted sockets if you want to not have cables running out to seating locations or tables. Making it look more traditional without sockets on the walls. Running cables behind the lime mortar can enable wash lights to be mounted on the feature walls along with lights along the floor. Planning your lighting really early is a great way to ensure it is magically hidden.

I think the wall may be bowing because of the broken guttering causing that section of wall to get soaked. The green stripe down the wall shows how wet it is, wouldnt cost much to fix the guttering and might save you alot of time and money in the future. I'm renovating an old Welsh cottage so appreciate how much hard work is involved in restoring old stone cottages. Best of Luck
