I’m not afraid of dying. I’m 85, walk a min of 8000 steps a day, go the gym 2x week, play 9 holes of golf 1 or 2x a week, clean and care for my condo and myself. Also, did my share of volunteering after 35 years in aviation industry. Yet, I miss my son that passed from heart problem last year. I hope our spirits will meet again when I pass. My mind is on top of what is happening in our world. I read a book a week. I am so In awe of what my grandchildren will witness in their lifetime. I find it all so interesting and amazing. I think Elon walks the walk and has yet to accomplish all of his dreams. Our world needs more driven Elon’s.😊

Believing in a person's honesty doesn't make it honesty, it's still just mere belief. So you might as well have suggested to believe in whatever one fancies. A person is honest when they tell the truth, regardless of what you think about it, whether you believe them or not. That's the way the cookie crumbles. What you just said is a red herring in rhetoric and lacks any form of logical reasoning.

When you are living your life to the fullest, then yes it feels this way. Most of us do not look forward to death, because we never pushed ourselves hard enough.
@bloodlove93 Жыл бұрын
to live is to die,to die is to have lived. we are born without choice, forced into a society, ergo we are born not to live, we are born to die,and we die so we can have lived. life is fleeting, ephemeral, and vapid,we spend almost 2 decades just growing up and being told what to do, the next few to several decades we are essentially forced to work more than anything and mostly at jobs we hate, and then when you retire even if early, you're probably at least 40 or 50 ,that's already middle age and certain activities are no longer realistic or even possible especially depending on medical conditions like weaker bones,high blood pressure etc etc. but many don't get to retire until 60 or 70, so regardless you have a few decades at most before you likely have severe disabilities or "old people problems" like dementia etc. so what is life? look at what i just described, where is free life in that? we're tied down from the start and forced to "live" in certain ways for certain times, we are born to suffer and die in a cruel world that structures our entire existence.

"The people who should be leaders are the people who don't want to be leaders" In my experience this is the most true statement that I can personally relate to. Every leader I have known in my career fits this statement exactly. The bad leaders wanted to be leaders, and the great leaders absolutely dislike it. The question next is to ask yourself if you want to be a leader and why. Personally, I don't think I am leader material, whether I want to be or not. I've had times where I thought it would be a great challenge, and other times where I've thought... it's not worth the extra stress and dedication. You have to sacrifice a lot to help people who will not appreciate you... tough problem.

The people that would make great leaders are people who want to empower everyone in the team. The ‘bad’ leaders are there for their own empowerment. And they will elbow their way into that position. They feel threatened by other people who have great ideas. The good leader will be happy to have you next to him/ her if you have great insights. Ego versus altruism perhaps 🤓

Good leaders are rarely chosen. Good leaders become leaders because the have the ability to lead others without ever knowing they had the ability to do so. Not because they wanted to be one. I've worked for many companies as an Industrial Electrician and can attest to this fact. The only leader I ever had that I ever trusted was an engineer that had the job forced on him. We all loved his attitude and the way he worked with us. Treated us with respect and appreciated the work we did. Then less than a year later, the company turfed him and brought in a "I want to be leader" guy. Everything went seriously downhill from there. I retired early at 62 so I wouldn't have to put up with the crap. I'm happier now but do miss the job. Just my story for what its worth.

Elon Musk is a rare gem billionaire very innovative and a great leader thats why i'm seriously considering investing in his companies that is Tesla and Space X but i'm really wondering if this really a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone says the market is ripe enough for buying but will stocks tank further this year? How long until a full stock recovery? How are other people in this market raking in over $250k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.
@louisairvin30522 жыл бұрын
@Alexander Webber I got into a bit of dilemma myself due to this chaotic market, wasn't sure if to sell or just wait a little longer, 75% of my portfolio was tanking and in the red, but I began gaining clarity and have more confidence in my invest. through an investment-adviser, I know most DlY investor like me would say advisors aren't essential, but come to think of it, they're better trained and equipped at this and if I have to give just a little amounting fees for me to be able to net $650K in less than 8months like I did this year, I truly don't mind.

It gives me this gut feeling that someone else is speaking from Elon Musk's mouth. His voice and very feel echoes still he manages to convince and amuse people so deeply. The intensity in his voice and the shear determination just steal the hearts of the listeners yet keeping himself very calm, precise and honest in his speech. So many attributes at one point of time does require super multilevel thinking and focus. Seemingly very difficult for a common man. Are we talking or listening to a super human who happens to be known as Elon Musk.

If you are a beginner to meditation, this CD will walk you through all the steps of relaxing and breathing as well as sending out the positive thoughts of love and kindness that will be returned to you. We have several CD's, but this one is a favorite that we choose most often.

I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks. I believe having 75K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. Be careful what you wish for. My mate of 41 yrs, had huge success in business early in lfe . He ate ,slept, and dreamed his successful businesses into reality. He did the equivalent of sleeping on the floor amd doing himself all the processes that anyone who worked for him did...literally...he wanted to streamline the procesing just like Musk did. He too was driven to understand every part of his businesses....they were his obsession and he LOVED IT. It was an drug for him. He married straight out of college, which was common and expected in his generation. She never minded that he slept in a motorhime on the land he was developing and building large neighborhoods on. She never minded she never saw him except weekends. She never minded they didnt have children, he didnt want them or have room in his life for children. She was off having a grand time spending his money...trips to Europe, trips to NYC clothes shoppimg with her girlfriends, new special edition Cadillacs and Corvettes for each of them every other year. Cars were his only pleasure because he had to drive. Then the 70s oil crisis hit...interest rates doubled in a year..he had several subdivisions under construction each with many homes under construction and BOOM it was over...no one could afford or wanted a house that this year was double last years overall cost. He cannibalzed his more stable businesses trying to outwait the downturn. Eventually he had to declare banktuptcy. He never even got to enjoy his money when he had it, except for the cars. She walked out and said, "I only married you for your potential". I met him the night their divorce was fiinal. While he was not OVERTLY depressed,he was shell shocked. He was in a furnished tiny apartment with rented furniture...he had gotten a decent job as a construction supervisor on a large apt build in booming Houston. He had a car, an old Caddie. That a few small of his favorite paintings he'd collected were all he had. I didnt CARE he was broke, still owed IRS and was paying them off. He was a terrific guy, I loved him for him. He decided he wasnt going for the brass ring a second time, which was fine with me. I was a professional earning my own money and needed nor wanted anything from him BUT him ...I recognized his value, not as an earner for me to sponge off of, but as a human being...he was special, he was unique. It took him 30 years to fully heal from his early experience.He didnt dwell on it verbally but I knew...he missed the drug of achievement. I had it to a smaller extent overcoming my own huge odds in getting a doctorate, I had been a hgh school,drop out having to work in a law office after my father died...I was in,the first class in my grad school that allowed womn...three of us got into a doctoral clinical psych program. I was the second highest student in the class by graduation. I had published three articles which is VERY rare, as a doctoral candidate. I became a clinical psychology professor and later an administrator as well...the first at my institution who was female. He fell in love with me in part because he could feel my passion for what I was doing..the same passion that drove him to his success . Meanwhile he taught me investing. By then I was buying multiple computer labs and software for universities where I worked. So I KNEW the cos to invest in...in the 90s. I retired at 50 and he was 55. We sailed the Caribbean for 7 yrs then built our dream home in the tropics. THAT is what finally healed him the remainder of the way. THAT achievement, getting to apply all his skills to something beautiful for us. I was offered a presidency in my state system a year before I retired, but we were getting ready to soon sail away...there was only one other female president in that state system of higher education. But HE was far more important to me and he had wanted that sailing dream since his childhood amd I was going to see that he had it. I had grown up loving saiing too...part of the attraction we had for each other right at the start. Those were our simplest but very beautiful years..wearing bathing suits amd shorts, eating fresh caught fish,,no refrigeration,,washing machine , dryer, bathtub..we were living almost a primitive peoples did and it was sublime. Nothing fancy about it at all which was part of its appeal. Three hundred books aboard though. It has been a grand life....we got eveything we wanted in life and I know few people can say that. But the very best was, we got each other and KNEW all along exactly what we had in each other...the most important was NEVER monetary and really it wasnt to him either...he learned it was the sense of achievement , not the money, he had been addicted to all along. Nothing except being with me surpassed that:sleeping on the floor, enduring those sacrifices, to work all those problems out one has BUILDING something ..but what he was really building took even longer , it was a life WORTH living.
