I grew up in the 70's and never knew who this guy was. I studied dreams and philosophy in college and as a hobby. Experimented with hallucinogens and did my best to explore my mind. I was lucky to have a life long friend I met in high school that sought the same things I did so we learned from each other. I wish so much I would have known about Alan Watts back then.

So what did you find when you explored your mind?

I had the same wish but the reality is he showed up right when we needed him. I am so glad he was around when recording equipment existed

@@thewatcher117 I read all of Carlos Castanedas' Don Juan books, Richard Bach Illusions and stuff. I believe everything is an illusion and I have had experiences similar to mind altering substances through meditation. I don't think we were meant to experience all powerful thinking in this place, I think that's for where we go after we croak. But I do sort of live like Zhuangzi. I am not concerned with what people think, I have as much fun as possible at all times but not in an obsessive way. I am pretty old but I can become a curious child quickly and it reduces stress a lot and makes people around you happy. I guess I've learned that making people happy and being happy has made life much easier till the next plane 😋

I think I was happier, more content, when I was just wandering. With all the things I have accumulated, I sometimes wish I could go back to my wayward days.

One of the best videos from Watts you've put out. I've seen dozens and this one may be my favorite... Because of course we have ambitions and desire to take care of ourselves as humans, but Watts is clever enough to emphasize the concept of NO-SELF... NOTHINGNESS... which in some Buddhist concepts, is one of the highest circles of 'Heaven' or Enlightenment. Fascinating!

Such a powerful and thought-provoking message from Alan Watts! His ability to distill complex ideas into simple, yet profound wisdom is unmatched. The notion of using the mind as a mirror-reflecting without attachment-is a timeless lesson. Beautifully produced and edited by T&H Inspiration, this video truly honors Watts' legacy. Thank you for sharing this!

Yes this is I think one of the best if not the best video yet featuring Alan! T&H did a great job. It was a long time since I shed a tear listening to Alan but this one combined with the tune managed to do it 😅.

Importance is subjective. Most people don't see this so they try to impose their ideals of importance into others. Some people just want a peaceful free of trouble life with whatever little they have. Thank you for the videos!
