Just replaced my lower wishbones the other day and also tie rod ends with TRW parts. Suspension feels amazing now, no more clunking/squeeking from those ball joints. Really appreciate you posting this video as I used it to help me do the job, cheers!

I had the problem of cross threading the bolt the first time I did this on my 156. Fortunately I hadn't gone too far in and I was able to re-tap the thread by using a thread cutter starting from the other side. It's a job I really do not enjoy doing. Next time I'll pay someone to do it for me :)

You dont need to disconect drive shaft, upper wushbone and tie rod. Use crow bar to drible out wishbone when you undo nuts and bolts, i changed both month ago🙂

As I said at the beginning there are several ways of doing it I removed it mainly so you can see more in the video and I'm also used to doing them on 147's and old habits die hard lol 👍👍👍👍😀😀😀

Hi Neil, thanks for the helpful video - I've had a lot of squeaking from the front suspension for the last 2 months under up/down movement (which went silent last week - bit concerning!) I believe this is likely to be the lower front bushes, is that right? The squeaking is very loud when I turn when parking the car too (159 2.4 sportwagon) - is that also the lower bushes? I'm considering getting poly bushes and fitting them myself - do you expect them to cure the problem and will I need to get a 4 wheel alignment because of the repair? Many thanks for the great content and useful guides..

Smashing alloy parts with a hammer is not a wise thing to do. Buy a joint splitter. Using a hammer can cause fractures or cracks. Very expensive when you later realise you have damaged them. Otherwise good vid.
