Italian Anisette Cookies

My grandmother used to make these around the holidays when I was a kid especially on Christmas. We would go over to her house and the smell of the cookies baking were incredible. She was from Naples Italy and left us with the recipe she's no longer with us but it always reminds me of her and my youth when we make them.🍪

I used butter. They were okay. Little dry. I think canola makes them so ? ? Wrongly delicious

Can u use a olive oil for baking? All other oils bad for you

I never have used olive oil instead but I’m sure you could try it . It probably would give the cookies a different taste and a different texture , most likely a heavier cookie. Let me know if you try it and how they turn out . Good luck 😊

it’s an old recipe and years and years ago they didn’t have the options that we have today. It’s an old recipe. It’s her grandmother‘s recipe and she’s making it sharing it like her grandmother made it

@@hmartin751our family recipe uses butter, too. Delicious cookies. We use anise, lemon, orange or vanilla extracts. All are yummy, but anise is the OG. The cookies in the video baked a tad too long for our taste. We like ours lighter.
