Ms. Lawson clearly understands that you can enjoy decadent dishes occasionally as part of a healthy lifestyle. You can see her love of healthy fruits and veg, so balance is key.

A nice Dessert: Slice plump chilled Strawberries. Put back in the fridge to chill. In a sauce pan, add a heaping tablespoon of butter. To that, add a heaping tablespoon of rich, dark brown sugar and two ounce of Kahlua. let the emulation of butter sugar and Kahlua caramelize. Place your thick slices of strawberries on your plate, pour over the caramelized sauce. Next, dab on a tablespoon of (Sour) Cream, not whipped cream. Then drizzle with chocolate sauce. To end it off, crackle over black pepper over everything, the sweet, sour and pepper is a taste explosion in your mouth.

Nigella’s infatuation with the mezzaluna is inexplicable: it takes her 3x longer to chop something than if she’d done it conventionally with a knife.
@danielkim78413 жыл бұрын
She loves the mezzaluna because it is a half moon shape, and she has admitted in interviews with reputable journalists that she loves all things moon related, especially mooning other people!

Are you concerned about the raw yolks and whites in the trifle?
@magnusanimus52353 жыл бұрын
Unless the eggs are dodgy or you are serving to someone with a compromised immune system (small children, pregnant women, or anyone who otherwise should also not be eating red meat or raw fish), there is really little need for extreme caution these days. It's not that uncommon to use raw eggs. Chocolate mousse is often made with raw eggwhites. I've done it too. Just be mindful to alert people before digging in.

I know they will not cause problems 97% of the time. But I don't want to risk salmonella infection. Sorry I value my health more. Fresh pasta stinks I mean literally. It reeks of egg. 😎 I heard people raving about it and made a batch. I couldn't even manage a mouthful. It smelled off eggs so much it was very, very stinky, I gagged and threw up in the bathroom. Never ever want to repeat the experience. My family has half disowned and looks at me with such contempt.
