These are so true. As a kid in 50s-60s America we used to do many of these things, but now as a culture America has been transformed/conditioned by corporations to work, work, work, hurry, hurry, hurry. Women are the ones who can put the brakes on this, stay home and raise kids! Make a warm, welcoming home that others want to be in. Women have the power to transform our society for the good, they may be the only ones who can do so at this point.

Interesting how corporate culture has permeated our homes over time. And yes, shaping the next generation through a good home life is one of the most valuable things for society :)

I agree with both of you. Women may have the ability to transform society for the good but alot of things have to be considered, like men should get a good wage for work so women can stay home. But then maybe families can do without some things or be content with smaller homes to make it work

Thank you so much, Honey, for reminding me of my life in the 50s & 60s. When I was growing up, my grandparents were off the boat from Italy. They were in the bakery & diner business. It was wonderful and I can't tell you how much I miss it. Interestingly, I married a man from Indiana & he was part of that rush rush kind of culture. Over the 25 years we've been together, though, he has totally slowed down. When we are together with his friends from there, he actually struggles with the pace that they keep. My mother often said , Be sure to stop and smell the roses... life is short !" Bless you ❤🏖 Kj in Tampa Bay 🤗

Having a more relaxed lifestyle and staying focused on family and home is definitely more healthy than this go go attitude we have in the US. Nothing beats sitting in nature listening to the birds! Your smile is so beautiful and genuine, it brightness my day! Thanks for more inspiration ❤

Interesting point you make, Deanna...I think we are seeing the result of our go go attitude and how it can affect our home life...sitting in nature is indeed wonderful...have a great week :)

Yes, we need to slow down here in the US. Anymore, just driving on the highway, is a perfect example. I love sitting on my back porch, looking at my garden, and the mountains.

I wish this message would go viral. Both my husband and I had spent a lot of time in Europe before we married, including Italy. My husband lived in southern France for a year. When we had our children, we made a conscious decision to live our lives at a slower pace..... which was not easy in our current culture. Nightly meals were sacred in our house where we could sit and talk.I It is also ironic that you described "doing nothing" because when life started to feel too hectic, we would instigate a "do nothing day" at our house. It served as a way to reset our slower pace of life!

Thank you Lisa. This brought back sweet memories of my Italian family. My grandfather also walked everywhere. He walked several city blocks to work and back, often refusing to take the train. He lived to 98! It’s a beautiful life!

I grew up in the 60's in the U.S. We had a very tight neighborhood, we always had family gatherings in our grassy yard, BBQing, playing croquet, volleyball etc. I don't see that anymore, people are no longer family oriented and always in a rush. I'm keeping my up bringing alive. Thank you Beautiful Lady for sharing 🌷 Love it.

I still have memories of my now deceased father just sitting in the back yard looking at the veggie patch. This is so true of us Italians but so beneficial to our mind and body. Some cultures don't or can't understand it especially places like the US and Australia where I live. This go go pace of life needs to change. I love your channel. You are a beautiful and proud Italian lady and so I am sending you a greeting from Melbourne, Australia. Also a proud Italian mamma! 🇮🇹❤️

I enjoy your video's so very much. Thank you for this one in particular because it expresses my sentiments exactly. I have experienced much backlash from family and friends when I decided to create a lifestyle for myself that was not a fast, corporate city life. My slower pace intentional living somehow offended them. It's as though they thought I was giving up on life. They couldn't be more wrong, I was finally living it instead of rushing through it.

Southern culture in the US is similar and honestly all around the world there are many other cultures that practice all these habits as well. This is also a great reminder to live simply and minimally in terms of possessions because the most relaxing and satisfying things in life don’t need much “stuff” to enjoy. I’ve recently been simplifying our home as we now have 5 children and homeschool. I’ve gotten rid of so many things but more to go, because I noticed that the best times we share as a family are in the very simple gifts of life like meals, playing music, dancing, or making up a game with a ball. The more things we part with, the deeper I see our relationships getting and everyone is more at peace too 💗

I remember my Nan making homemade chips, English pancakes for breakfast and Viennese whirls she was wonderful and used to dance around the house with a tea towel singing I could’ve danced all night. She passed away when I was 18 at home on Boxing Day. I was only one in her room when she died. I miss her dearly and would’ve loved learning from her about housekeeping and cooking x ps I’m new here and binge watching your videos xx

I knew a lot of Italian people in my neighborhood over my childhood years. In my late teen years I dated a young Italian fellow who was so polite and quite the gentleman. He took me to "Little Italy" in Toronto on a date, at a church dance. There I had Italian food. Everyone spoke Italian and it was so difficult to have a conversation. I respect your lifestyle, and after living, working a very busy life I have retired and slowed down a lot. Still volunteer, just enough so I don't get bored.

Why are you spreading Italian formulas to live a happy life? Most of the world (except a few nations) do not even deserve to live in this world which has become so dirty. The ones who deserve, already have discovered Italian lifestyle without even noticing that it is Italian lifestyle. This is what I see.

@@asimpleseason2616 I mean people who know how to live a happy life without needing to spend big money already know. The rest steal happy people's hapinesses, so they do not deserve to get any info as you have given. I am seeing it as 90 percent of people at the country I live unfortunately like that and I do not feel like doing anything for the most people except some rare people.
