Where do you buy your 1/2 gallon mason jars? Canadian Tire doesn’t sell them anymore. I live near Victoria. Thanks.

The popcorn maker. I use a crank one on the stove and it’s just such a headache with the oil, not burning it, etc. I was thinking of an air popper which I had many years ago but I remember it being so dry. You saying that you can add butter makes me think I should give it a try again. Thanks!
@asimpleseason26163 күн бұрын
You can add a little melted butter to the popcorn after it pops - it's delicious!

You can put a straw in the corner of the bag, seal it all the way to the straw, and suck almost all the air out of the bag. Then quickly pull the straw with your mouth while keeping a vacuum while sliding your fingers to finish the seal just as the straw leaves the bag. When done properly, this method works almost as well as using a vacuum sealer.

Your decorating is beautiful. We love to feed our squirrels too. We feed them very tall cedar post with a big birdhouse that has a big front porch. We screened the bird hole so it won't fill with mud dauber nests. If we're late feeding him he jumps on a branch by the kitchen window and stares at me til I feed him. Fun how we all live our backyard family. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

A lovely video. Thank you so much. As you were talking about our children growing up and creating similar homes, it made me think back to realize my home is much like the one I grew up in, uncluttered and peaceful. And when visiting my daughter, the beautiful home she and her husband have created reflect these values too. Isn’t it amazing the influence we have on others without realizing it?

I live in south africa...i keep mainly beef in my refrigerator...in the event of a long scale power outage as soon as the meat begins to thaw out all of the non beef will be cooked on a fire and eaten...this should remain edible for about 3 days...all the beef will ne immediatly cured and turned into biltong..

I have most these and they are great, don't have an electric throw though, that sounds nice!! We have used a French press for years, although having broken several glass ones we bought a stainless steel version, Bingo!! It comes everywhere with us! It is now many years old and as you say makes the best coffee! Merry Christmas Lisa, love your channel, it has been just a lovely treat to watch you and your tips throughout the year, one highlight for me has been your focaccia recipe, it is now a regular feature in my household, my family thanks you! Lisa, can you explain about the cast iron pans? Do they need to get washed with soap and water after every use? I've never understood this (or had a pan like it). Thank you. :-)
@asimpleseason26166 күн бұрын
Before you use it for the first time it needs to be seasoned with oil...rub it on the pan and put in the oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Then to clean it usually just hot water and a bit of salt for abrasion to get off any stuck on food then dry it well...then every now and again I might rub oil into the pan again re-season it if it needs it :)
