Our local supplier told us once. Italian marble is wonderful with a peculiar lustre but it nowhere beats Indian marble in durability. Indian marble is easier to maintain and can be replaced when a crack or a break appears. You would never get an Italian marble with same texture if you meet with a fault.

I prefer Indian marble because my common sense says that if I need marble, I have Indian marble locally available. I can modify it. Why I will import marble from Italy, if my brain is working correctly?

One correction: Italian marble is a generic term and does it mean its source is necessarily from Italy- marble from Germany Norway Spain Iran etc is also sold in India under the blanket term of Italian marble.

Italian marble can be Bianco Carrara, statuario, rosso Verona, rosso asiago, giallo veneziano, bianco sardo..... Ecc ecc...... So saying Italian marble its highly generic.....plus....marble is soft, heavy, porous and fragile material in every part of the world.... They are some more fragile or soft then others but basically its stuck in category of marble..... You have to make this confront with granite and quartz....

आप इतना समज लीजिए कि मार्बल बहोत पवित्र माना जाता है.. उसे बाथरूम मे मत लगाना.. दूसरा मार्बल पर जब आप चलेंगे तब वो आपके पेर की चमड़ी के माध्यम से आपके पूरे शरीर को शक्ति/एनर्जी देता है इसी लिए उसे मन्दिर में लगाया जाता है. टाइल natural नहीं हे.. ना ही cement.. आप कुछ नहीं तो पत्थर या लकडी के फ्लोरिंग लगा दीजिए जो आपको पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में देखने मिल जाते हैं. अगर आप के घर में पहले से ही टाइल लगी है और आप खर्चा नहीं करना चाहते तो कई सस्ते कालीन या कपड़े के बने बिछौने आते हैं जो हम कभी गॉव मे इस्तेमाल किया करते थे.. उसे टाइल पर बिछा कर उसपर चलिए.. आपको शारीरिक और मानसिक दोनों रूप से लाभ होगा

@@dpkrj123 its okay if marble is better from vastu point but after 20-30 years you will get alot of pain in your legs, whereas in tiles you won't. My aunt has Indian marble , and now after 18 years she has alot of pain in her leg , she showed to doctor and said it was due to marble and now they have to operate her leg. She used to walk on marble for long without footwear. For your information Doctor was of Nagpur and Amravati , both the doctors said the same "It was due to marble" If you like marble its your choice... but after 2-3 decades you will get unbearable pain.
