Why 17 and Trunks? What tools do they have? They must be really good characters considering that both players are using them.

Trunks has a good low cost high speed rush and good boxing. I know originally he became popular from people starting as buff trunks and immediately untransforming to start with extra ki, but I guess the meta moved on to just starting with base trunks. 17 is good because passive ki regeneration is strong with how much movement and close range fighting there is in high level play, and his double full power energy ball has this weird effect where it freezes the opponent in place briefly, making your only option to fully avoid damage having godlike timing on a double blink (paige actually does this at 1:35).

I played this game a ton as a kid, I’m just discovering the competitive scene. It seems... insane? This game is a bit silly to be a legit competitive, but it seems like fun regardless. Is there anywhere I can find a rundown of how this actually works? Like of the meta and tech?

Wow Paige comment? Lucky but um there is a small meta (which sometimes shifts) it is: (according to Paige’s own tier list) Broly as super armour spam and near inf hp, 17 cos fastest charge and op spammable full power energy ball super, trunks as swift and sharp melee attacks almost making him the best at it, kid buu as very fast hits with lots of range and damage and then the final member is up to you ( I use perfect cell cos in top 10 at everything) so the meta is just kid buu+ the rest of the characters from when Gohan was a teen (oh yeah Teen and adult gohan is op aswell as gt chars.)

Are other characters viable at a high level besides the ones I usually see in your videos? It seems to me that the top tiers and only viable ones are: cell perfect Gohan ssj2(adult), Android N17, Kid Buu, Trunks(future), Gogeta ssj4. Broly is would be GOD tier for being the pinnacle of Tank characters. ( em português pra quem é BRASILEIRO). Outros personagens são viáveis em alto nivel além desses que geralmente vejo nos seus videos? Me parece que os top tiers e únicos viáveis são: Cell perfect, Gohan ssj2(adult), Android N17, Kid Buu, Trunks(future), Gogeta ssj4. Broly é seria GOD tier por ser o auge dls personagens Tank.

No perché in realtà mentre gioco a me pare che Trunks ssj dia molto meno spazio con le combo per rispondere e faccia più danno. Penso che le raffiche (R1+Triangolo) siano più comode del normale rispetto a quella dello sjj ma in termini di danno lo sjj è sempre migliore oltre ad avere Fliying Kick di prima frenesia

Sparking Zero is ABSOLUTELY TRASH not just in comparison to the greatest DBZ game of all time, but in general. It’s so boring, there aren’t any LEGITIMATE combos, the game is too fast to keep up with, the OVERLY animated look just looks cheesy and wack. The game as a whole is trash, I’ve played it before but I will NEVER spend my money on it. I never bought it, only played it at my friend’s house. Also, you can just CONTINUALLY spam certain moves and kill your opponent with like 3 of them. Were as at least with BT3, damage scaling is somewhat better. Everyone is just using UI Goku and all the same boring characters. Just a boring game overall. I still play BT3 on my Ps2. Sparking Zero will NOT be memorable 17 years down the road. Trash game.

I've been thinking this. And I really hate how people are warping reality in order to. Coddle themselves and the vocal delusionals of the Sparking Zero fanbase. The old tenkaichi games were no where near as broken, inconsistent, and lazy as SZ. There was legitimate defensive and offensive tactics, you could actually combo. Skill actually factored into match-ups despite power gaps. Explosive waves actually reset both characters to neutral, the flow of battle wasn't constantly interrupted by vanish battles. Etc. This video proves it. SZ is so bad that content creators were tired of content mining it 2 weeks ago and goliving lame excuses for the game. Now they are openly lamenting the game but still trying to be nice in order to maintain their Bandai connections, which in turn helps lead into the distortion of "Tenkaichi was never balanced, this is ok." I've even seen Seereax say that SZ is like the new BT1 and they will build great sequals from the back of this. But my thing is this game was supposed to be BT4. All of these years and all they have to offer gameplay wise is a bunch of fanservice moves that are lazily programmed to bad/braindead inputs. PERCEPTION IS CANCER, along with the Vanish wars. They thought of putting all of this cool looking shit with no idea how to balance and synergize it to making a cohesive fun and consistent experience. At this current point in time Naruto Storm Connections is a better balanced game than SZ and that game is utter bs. Finally the mPs are fuckin atrocious. There are zero maps that reflect the space opera that was Z. The lack of ability to nuke the battlefield outside of namek is very disappointing. The most impressive thing in the game is the world tournament transition. And that should not be the case.
