Mille grazie 🤩 I agree... this is song is so incredibly powerful. And it gets even stronger when you get the lyrics (I am sure they can be translated in Italian, but there is an English translation out and about:) In short, a beautiful norse maiden is cursed by her evil stepmother to roam the dark forest all alone. The only way to break the curse is by drinking her brother's blood.. Classic fairytale theme, but much darker. I find it so intriguing and powerful. The maiden is perfectly portrayed through Gunnhild's raw vocals. The desperation, the hurt, sheer magic. Will be so exciting to see how it will do in Eurovision. I have HIGH HOPES for this one 🤩🤩🤩

Greetings from Norway. I love Gåte❤. The instrument is called nyckelharpa (Swedish)/nøkkelharpe (Norwegian). It's actually a Swedish folk instrument, but is also very popular amongst Norwegian folk musicians. Sound of it resembles hardingfele (Norwegian harding fiddle) in some ways but construction and use of it allows for a more soft/constant/atmospheric sound (if thats a good description). Gåte uses both hardingfele and nyckelharpa in their music. Sometimes they use one or the other, sometimes they combine. I guess it depends on what atmosphere they want to convey 😊. Maybe they also wanted Sweden to recognize themselves more in the music. As Eurovision is in Sweden this time. This song overall have alot of elements that is "overlapping" in both Swedish and Norwegian folk music traditions. Like kulokk (nor) or kulning (swe), and that the song is based on an old Norwegian version of an older Scandinavian ballad, which you also find Swedish versions of. But yeah give that maiden in wolf skin a banana! 😂 I am proud we sent this! If you liked it you should look up their song "kom no disjka" and "Svarteboka" which they did together with Djerv.

The instrument is a Key Harp or Nøkkel Harpe in Norwegian. Love this song.

This is an ancient tale. Comparably to Some of the old operas From Italia No Not O sole mio.. older. they had to change the song a bit to be allowed to enter. If Italia did that. had smashed it with rock. Like it sounded like an opera but modern you win. I mean. I know Italia can do rock.. thay did win after all. Butif someone made a song that makes you feel yore in ancient rome. all the world will relate to that. Ulvehamn is so ultra viking. and the whole world thinks vikings and nordic history is fascinating. Also its is a bloody good song

I am norwegian living in sweden! and didnt like it at when I forst heard it but now after listen to it some more times it its getting better all the time! BUT they might not come to Eurovision in Malnö(the arena is 5 minute on bike from where I live!) cause they saud that they will discuss if the will compte IF Israel will be competeing in Malmö in may!

this artist competed for Norway last time eurovision back in 2013 with the son I feed you my love! I loved that song and hoped she would return to Urovision thsi year , cacuse she sings great, hars her looks , and we share the intrest of icehockey!
