I recently discovered your channel and I love it. Mi piace molto💜. I reckon, like the gentleman said before, that not all Italians always do love all children. But one thing stays in my mind. The 1996 edition of the Festival of Speed in Goodwood was attended by the Ferrari F1-Team for the very first time. The fans were excited. But in the morning the racecars were not on the track as they were scheduled. The crew was putting children in the cars in the paddock for photos... How can you not love this Italian interpretation of a thight scheduled program. Unless you are the organiser ofcourse. But even then.

Pizza is usually a treat. However there are about 300 different types of pasta. 😂 People also assume that pasta is just tomatoes.*facepalm* In my opinion Italians are not loud compared to others. Afghans are very loud. Italians in general are just friendly. The older generations are religious yes, the younger generations not so much.
@JohnKruse6 жыл бұрын
I'll say Italians are friendly with cute kids - not so much with homely children. Not to brag, but my son was a really cute child. Everywhere we went, shopkeepers, baristas and even strangers were giving him free stuff (e.g., toys) or a seat on a crowded bus. Meanwhile, I'd see other children of the same age being ignored. It actually really bothered us because he has grown up thinking that his preferential treatment is normal.
@rabbia73512 жыл бұрын
Regarding "friendly with kids". I wouldn't express it quite like that , but there is a noticeable difference from what I'll call 'anglo' cultures - the UK, USA, Australia, Canada etc. Italians are far more tolerant, with children, at least in public. Suppose a toddler or small child is behaving in a store or supermarket, creating havoc. In Italy you are far more likely to get a.'poverino' type reaction.to the child, from the store people, the parent(s), and other customers. Overall people aren't that fussed. But the anglo reaction might be quite different. The parent might be embarrassed by what their child is doing, even ticked off to the point they will be forceful with the child (who might well deserve it). Nearly everyone will want the child to be brought quickly into line and under control. Part of this is, the anglo will not want their child to be the cause of a spectacle. Italians are much more relaxed in this regard. Of course these are generalisations, but valid I'd say. And there are valid reasons, for each approach. Italians just view children rather differently, in general.

Yes some Italians buy their pasta and sometimes a sauce, but plenty of Italians don't --- especially the sauce. Plus what people overseas need to understand is that the Italian sauce they buy is MUCH better than what you would find in say an American supermarket. In fact Italian supermarkets are vastly superior when it comes to things like cheeses, pastas, sauces, condiments, etc.

I tend to 'see'/think of Italians as, frequently, very much being quite artistic and creative, virtually as a part of the culture to a great extent. Whether or not this might constitute some sort of "stereotype" i'm not actually certain; however, if it is, it's truly rather a lovely one, i should/would say ({: D ...! Otherwise, generally speaking, i feel that 'blanket generalisations' concerning a people are, more often than not, merely a collection of characteristics which might just as well apply to practically any other group or nationality, etc, equally well - for the most part at least.

I've hard the stories about Italian men and their close relationship with their mothers. Is that the same with Italian women, or do they have a similar bond with their fathers? Observations from my North Italian male friends: when they speak in English they use a lot of c'mon. It is hard to get a hold of them, i.e. get them to message you and/or have a call with them. But once you do arrange that video call they are friendly and heartwarming.

Get the stereotype that Italians are short because most Italian American men are under 5'10" 177 cm and look about 5'8" 173 cm on average. Most Italian Americans are from southern regions of Italy with alot from Sicily. But many Americans that visited Italy said that Italians aren't short but actually tall even in Europe. Many claim that young adult Italian men even in Sicily look 5'10" 177 cm on average and in their northern regions they felt that young Italian men look 6'0" 183 cm on average and that Italy as a whole fir men is about 5'11" 180 cm on average. Italians in Italy are noticeably taller then Italian Americans. Many also felt that the Germans with their tall stereotype is way overrated as well. 6'0" 183 cm for men is a common very average height for men in their northern provinces near The Netherlands and Denmark but in most of the rest of Germany it was more like 5'10" 177 cm for men on average and in their southern most provinces 5'9" 175 cm looked like a very common average height for men.

My father and my grandfather (born in 1910 and who knew the Mass by heart in Latin)) were 'communists' and supported the law on abortion and divorce. My mother's family is more religious, but they also distinguish between state and church without problems. Italians know human nature well and many of them are religious only when it's convenient.

LOUD? Not as loud as the American girl who had too much to drink when I was in Rome last month. I'm American Italian and was totally embarrassed for her (trust me she was NOT embarrassed at all). In the restaurant my sons and I heard this loud voice and she didn't stop until she left about 45 minutes of that annoying and loud voice! I thought I got away from that in US.

Sorry Elisa absolutely do not agree with you on the sauce. Most Italians prepare the sauce and only those who are either incapable or very lazy buy it.
@solaccursio6 жыл бұрын
I buy it. I'm not incapable or lazy, just don't have time to waste on something I find ready. If I have time I cook something I can't buy "already made" (and I hate tomato sauce anyway... it's just for empty fridge emergencies)

Really? 🤔 So a working women who works 8-10 a day is expected to come home and make a pasta sauce from scratch? Maybe in 1958 when women had time make sauce sure. I've lived in Italy for three years, I've seen many Italians buy sauce. 🤔 They are busy hard working 40+ hours a week. Sooo??? I guess you have time and no bambini to make a frigging sauce. Typical man.

who say that it must necessarily be a woman to cook, in my house (and I was born in 1960) have always cooked my father who had a full time job. I work full time myself and cook much more than my wife. The sharing of housework without distinction applies in our home. The pasta sauce can be made and stored for a few days in the fridge without any problem. You are the victim of the stereotype of the housewife, a figure that no longer exists. Domestic work is rightly shared. But this does not justify using junk food for yourself or your children, cooking a good sauce can take from 30 minutes to 90 minutes depending on its complexity. You can also eat healthy with quick but cooked dishes prepared with fresh products of good quality. I do not know if you are a female or a male, your nickname does not reveal it, I do not even know your nationality, what I criticized to Elisa and to talk about what she does not know. You can talk about your personal situation, you cannot claim to represent Italy, because most of the information you provide is only that of the commonplaces in which most Italians do not identify. Perhaps they can be applied to small circles of his generation. When talking about a country you must be prepared and speak with data and donated not for limited feelings or knowledge.

raised my two children and spent all my free time with them; my wife could not do it because of her health. I am aware that I am not alone and many people do so in silence without complaining happily that they can do their homework. I also had to humiliate myself, like finding myself in difficulty to change my son or my daughter because the changing table was always located in the toilet of the girls in which I was denied access (I'm talking about the early 90's) or by the pediatrician who invited me to return with his mother because (asuo opinion) who would undress and dress the child (with the second was easier). Females know and can scream their problems to the world, we males act in silence.

Lol what is this video. I’ve lived on 3 different continents and I have been living here for 3 years. Sure not everyone eats pizza and pasta everyday but you damn well offer it everyday (and different variations of pasta with different sauces is still pasta, also you have different types of bread based foods that for non Italians is still pizza so youl find it next to almost all dishes). You are the loudest, by far, extra passionate so it can be small or big but you all just yell to get your points across or crack a joke etc. heck your shouting in parts of your video lol but being Italian means you think it’s normal. No none of you are gangsters but you like to just word things like gangsters, otherwise your pretty soft.. Other than that, yea the stereotypes are correct. Oh, and every location in Italy is “better than any other location” in Italy. Every colored person is either Nigerian or Moroccan , and every Asian person is Chinese.
