ATTENTION EVERYONE: The "Create Kingdom" Button doesn't exist anymore. WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO NOW IS: Counquer a castle/town, then appoint a guvernor. After that, talk to your guvernor and you will have an option to start your own kingdom. SIDE NOTE: You have to be at war before being able to siege a castle/town. Declare war by attacking a village/villagers/caravans/parties of your desired kingdom. EASIEST WAY TO START A WAR I found is to talk to a party of your targeted kingdom and tell them "surrender or fight". Then, after you declare war on them, you can simply leave.

I recommend trading until you get the perk artisan community as it gives 1 renown everyday for every profitable workshop you own it really helps mid game to build up renown. Also wool weavery’s in every khuzait city but makeb make 300+ denars each day.

A tip I would add is once you take a settlement, don't immediately form your kingdom or you'll be open to war being declared on you. If you remain a clan while you hold your settlement, the AI kingdoms won't declare war on you (at least in the 1.7.0 beta branch) and it gives you time to heal any wounded you have from the siege, build up your follower parties, upgrade the settlement, etc. The one downside is that you will not be able to serve as a mercenary as long as you're a clan with settlements but the settlement income offsets that pretty well.

Join a faction, use their own lords and make armies to conquer w/e you want, take the right of conquest so you keep them all. Then just leave/rebel/whatever. Also a trick for taking over towns of your own faction I used is I made an army with anyone I could take. Wait next to settlement in a war, wait for enemy to take it, re-take it and keep it as your own. Lol

One big thing to not forget about workshops, is don't build them in kingdoms that you will be fighting. Because when you fight a kingdom you lose all the workshops that you own in that Kingdom's cities.

I believe its not how it works since i was at war with the Khuzaits several times and while i didnt get money from my workshops there during the wars they started back once peace was made so the enemy doesnt actually steal your workshops but rather puts them under restrictions .

I dig the new updates. When starting off and doing the whole looter/arena portion you mentioned, I normally try to spam a few caravans to help with daily income. Caravans have been pretty consistently good for my early game and once you get 2-3 it can help you field 75-100 men without much hassle. Only good for early game though because caravans late game tend to get attacked a lot by whatever enemies you’ve made and tend to cost more to keep rebuilding. Companions can get some decent leadership skills too while running around with a caravan if you ever plan to use them later as party leaders. Also, when looking for nobles to recruit, I’ve found that clans without land (or have had their land taken) are much easier to recruit than ones with land. So normally I’ll sort through which clans I try to recruit, by that. Keep up the good content

Don't sleep on the Steward skill either. At 20 (the highest I've gotten it to building my character) and acting as Quartermaster you get like 10 extra units and the skill grows just by being Quartermaster

There's much better wife choices then Sora, with Arwa and Ira being my top choices. If you choose one of them not only do you get a better comabtent but wives are fairly cheap to marry and the ones that are warriors come with a decked out set of equipment you can take for youself; like top tier weapos, armor horse and barding. It might cost you 5-15k to get married but you get 50k+ worth of equipment back. The armor in particular is key early on in the game.

i like always to go battania lands and killing looters and improve relationships with lords and leaders of their villages , so i recrute very easy only battanian archers ,then promoting them at the rank of fian champions ,always i like to have at least 100 fian champions in tier 5 clan level...as infantry i choose imperial legionaries , very good combat units in melee combat units... and as cavalry , i like elite khan's khuzaits as mounted archers, and vlandian banner knights in the mix with imperial elite cataphracts fian champions+ imperial legionaries , khan khuzaits+Vlandian Banner Knights+ Imperial elite cataphracts is my favorite template army to make :)

1st step should be: find companions with high Steward and Leadership skill. You need two for two extra parties + one companion with a culture of a city you want to conquer. 2nd Two companions will be controled by AI, so let them build up an army. You will be paying every day for it, so have large amount of money. (I think smithing is the only way, other is maybe trading horses + defeating noble armies.) 5 workshops in not enough. 3rd step With three parties you can conquer the city you want and then place governor with corresponding culture. To defend succesfully city need 400+ troops. (you take them from companion parties). 4th Bribe minor factions nobles to join you. Overall you need three main resources for you kingdom: money, loyalty and troops.

The daily +1 renown per profitable workshop is a pretty nice snowball. It's in trade. Side note, Khan guards are still great for outnumbered fights. 300 can easily take on an army of 1k.

Just a few things from my playthroughs. Smithing is still pretty busted. Right now I am making 2H Swords that sell for 60k each and they dont cost much in smithing resources. Honestly if you buy the Pugio daggers from the Imperial settlements that is best, they are fairly cheap and give you a decent amount of resources including Fine Steel. Aside from that normally I wait until I am rank 4 and then just mess around a bit until a settlement goes into rebellion and then pounce on it. Once you take it, there is no fear of starting a war with one of the larger factions I may not be ready to take on... something i found out but reported to TaleWorlds on the forum so they can balance or fix it because it *feels* exploit-y. If you find an Imperial settlement that was taken by the Battanians or Sturgians. You can literally buy all of that settlements food every in game day while smithing weapons to supplement the cost. Eventually the settlement will begin to Starve and that plummets moral which leads to a rebellion quicker. Once the rebellion hits, just discard all of the excess food youve bought and youre good to go. Its super cheesy I know but im hoping they fix it soon. Those settlements will go into rebellion eventually any ways.

I found leveling and focusing smithing to be much more profitable > buy Pugio in Empire and smelt it down > and create 2hd swords > these at the start can give you 2k denars per sword > also I don't have an army so I lose no income and avoid fights until I have enough denars to support my army - definitely still do tournaments as these are HUGE money boost at the start of the game > use your winnings to buy your smithing stuff like hardwood > once I get about 20k I then build a small army of 20 troops and get them to tier 2 at least (focusing on archers) and then I rinse and repeat the smithing > always making more and more difficult 2hd swords and smelt Pugio and Xephos (sorry for spelling errors) but that has easily made me a ton of money at the start of the game. I tried it first time and managed to get myself, my champions and high troop army fully kitted out and have a ton of denars which doesn't cost anything compared to how many denars I have. Trading is definitely important because you want to sell for the best price....now my army is 97 and I bankrupt each town I go into by selling 1 of my 2hd swords.....after I done this I buy any of their Pugio (or similar for other kingdoms) and move onto next town > if they have good gear, armour, weapons or horses for good price I buy those to help with my army speed....Ohh and buy as many Mules as you can so you can carry your resources

Dunno if this is true for anyone else but i found the following method great for money making and army building 1. bandit bandits bandits 2. mix in some arena for dem clan points 3. merc for vlandia or khuzait 4. Foightin' rand the world 5. PROFIT i found doing this shot my money up really fast, grew a strong high tier army and put me in good standing for taking over a castle.

Blacksmithing two handed swords can profit you 100k ish per hour and you only need to go between two cities that have hardwood and iron ore. Tier three two handed swords can go for 30k each. Just a different good money making for early game and late game

I am just about to install a mod which allows for more rebellions. Intention behind that is that the faction i belong to would be weakened so that then afterwards could pick up the neutrals one by one. Now i did a bit of ressearch and found a good guide on reddit which would give a strategy to the same outcome in vanilla, but if you could do a vid about it i think it could be insightfull to a lot of people including myself :)

OK, total noob here. Been playing for like a week. Made many mistakes such as not the best choices for my character skills, companions or faction (southern empire) as a vassal. Right now I (clan tier 5 almost 6) have about 6 cities and 5 castles under my control and the the S Empire controls half the map. I also personally control all of the north of the map which used to be Sturgia. I'm thinking its a good time to break away an start my kingdom and hold the north while leaving my southern settlements to the wolves. Valandia and S Empire seem to be controlling the rest of the map so I plan on letting them fight it out. I also have about 2mil to pay for peace. Any input from the experts is more than welcome. OR should I start a new run and strive for perfection?

And council of common law does not work properly, gets you the penalty but does not give you the influence. This issue is also known to the devs and are still being fixed. I would recommend getting other laws instead.

I think it's easier to be a vassal with X faction say: Be battanian, fight for Valandia, make sure you get most of the Battanian towns. At Tier4: call a Valandian vassal to you. You disband army, you leave kingdom, keep all holds, talk to the vassal near you. Create your own kingdom. I did this in one of my current placethroughs. The only Ex-Battanian thing I am currently not holding is Pen Cannoc (read next target).

I'm doing a khezuit run atm and I married Bolat daughter to the king really early on. I asked to marry her without too much trouble didn't even need to convince her only her dad and then I took all his money and still married her! And he was so happy to give me her hand and 30k for nothing but my loyalty in return. She had good armour but was a very bad fighter only had good stats in riding and stewardship she was good at governing but her true strength is helping out other Khan lord's as she has 0% chance to fail. Making her super useful for doing fill garrison/find horses, or collect revenue mishs leaving me to raid and command huge armies. Trying to conquer the whole world as a vassal and I'll then turn on my king once theas no one else left to fight.

I think the only way they can nerf the "marry a noble and get rich on their gear" strat is if you're still viewed as a commoner amongst calradia that the noble you're marrying to tells youthat they'll be stripped of their belongings provided by their clan/kingdom which can also impact the charm minigame to make it harder early game and only when you're (idk clan tier 3) they'll be more convinced to marry you and they'll keep their gear

Buying Aserai Horses from villages are often not the best way of getting those horses. Askar is pretty much trading hub for these items because it is possible to buy Aserai Horses there cheaper. Also, I would say that hunting minor clans is a so-so solution. If you do horse-trading that means your Trade skill would reach 125 pretty damn fast. 125 Trade means Artisan Community perk. Clan Tier 1 comes quick and at Tier 1 you can serve as a merc which will skyrocket Clan tier. Hunter Killer missions and stuff.

i am missing the create kingdom button... what gives?

How do you find those minor clans on the map? Even if you have an up to date info they're near location X, then it's nearly impossible to find them unless you bump into them by chance. I'd say looking for those dudes is a waste of time unless you want to recruit them...

In my opinion the best way to get started is tournaments and smithing. I was able to make 100k in less than a half hour into a new campaign. With that much gold you can really start any way you want.

so I am clan tier 4, got the 3 banner pieces, I have 2 castles over 100 troops and 300k gold but the create a kingdom button isn't there and istiana and azagos don't give me the option aswell.

Engineering skill requires a lot of influence to level. You basically have to build siege equipment, one at the time, let say 1 ballista and you let it die. But here is the thing, the speed of production of siege equipment depends on party size rather than perks, but if you want it for a governor... yeah several thousand of influence will be needed.

​@@SheedRanko While true, that is a way to grind engineering skill, that still fails to explain the 500+ engineering. Even with 10 Intelligence and 5 focus points, the level cap is around 330 (and with only 6 intelligence around 275), making it impossible to get higher with grinding. To get higher, assuming its not a mod or something, you would need a MASSIVE single xp gain while you still have a non-zero multiplier, similar to how you can pump roguery over the cap by ransoming thousands of prisoners at once.

So, I joined a faction and planned to do a grand betrayal except, I forgot you forfeit the right to create a kingdom if you pledge your life to a ruler. Any mods to fix this? I already made them loose all their armies to the other factions.

actually you can i did the exact same thing, in the new patch you have to talk to one of your governors to establish your kingdom

But where do you find these minor clans? I'm currently playing and it doesn't even say where they are at and where to fight them.
