Here’s the problem: Giant’s Blood taxes you. You won’t be able to use your currently equipped weapon at your level. You’ll have to downgrade because it triples the STR requirement. On the one hand, it seems wonderful. On the other hand, it locks out your weapon, AND, you can’t toggle it on or off. So, once you choose it, you can’t two hand that weapon again.

melee builds have little actual melee to them, they are mostly, ranged, AOE with a few token close in skills. In and of itself that's an okay addition to melee., but this game is designed around the dodge roll mechanic as being the first line of defense. this may be fine for other characters but melee characters should be able to stand toe to toe with pretty much anything without having to dodge roll after every hit. melee is punished for doing what they are intended to do.....melee.

I’m legitimately about to quit, I’m stuck on tier 4 maps just getting killed instantly, I’ve bought several types of gear and it doesn’t help. I do a decent amount of damage but I’m watching people list things at my level that are light years ahead of what I have. I’m level 70 and I’ve seen 1 divine orb and that’s it. I’m getting really tired of the rng in this game, it’s ruining it for me. No reason that someone who’s just luckier should be able to jump ahead of me in this game. Keep in mind I’ve tried using increased rarity of items found and I still find dog water gear.

I am in the same boat. I cannot get orbs to upgrade gear and the gear drops I do get are usually for another class. The RNG on drops and upgrading gear is horrible and kills the game for the ones who consistently get crap RNG and little to no orbs to get the gear to rare.. I also cant get enough resistance gear, the Reforge thing is complete crap as well. Maybe I have the Edge of Tomorrow edition...Die repeat Die. Im level 56 and have 1400 ES but quite a few enemies just one shot me...I have some resistances but most are around 20ish percent. Just cant seem to get the gear to increase my defenses to survive...... I gave up on trials after getting one shotted by the round 4 boss..over and over and over...cant dodge roll, run if you get trapped by mobs and slowed then the boss one shots you...and I also have an input lag issue and some spells just wont cast unless I mash the button 3+ times or hold it down and I die because of that too. Crap RNG and tech issues = zero fun

try changing that divine orb for exalted on the currency exchange NPC, you will have like 100 exalted now to buy better gear, once you solve that, is time to check your build and see what is workimg and what not, like this video show

@@ArayaPancho yup, I did the exchange and only had enough stuff to get a handfull of orbs and they were all crap rolls. I am following the Maxroll Spark Stormweaver build. I will probably take a break for a bit, I have POE grind and death fatigue (over 300 deaths)

Really solid vid mate. I'm not really following guides for PoE2 and having a blast as warrior (at end of A2 - lvl30 as backtracked to get side things on map to be 100%) Nice to watch simple advice vids like this while doing chores.

Very very informative video. I am by no means a new player to the PoE universe, but I don't consider my self a vet either. First coming into PoE from other ARPGs like Grim Dawn, Diablo 3 (Wont touch 4), Titan Quest, Path of Exile was extermely intimidating when it came to all the information it was throwing at me and how everything kind fits together and what can work with that and so on. One tip I would like to put out there for new players, is make friends with the tags on the abilities and the filter sysem in the skill window, use this and you will never be confused again. Example one of my main skills was a persistent skill, says Persistent in the tag section at the top, so at the bottom, I simply type Persistent and it filters in ALL the supports that have that same tag, one and done. Thank you for this video. I only just learned last night that STR INT DEX, are merely checkpoints for equipping items and thats it, other games will usually have an additive effect like Increases Phys Damage, Crit Chance Spell damage etc attached to them. In learning this I didnt feel as bad about having to change some of my stat nodes to int or dex to meet gearing requirements during my leveling. Sorry for the winded comment but one final tip Id like to add that has shown me great success that you mentioned here but that I want to put some extra emphasis on for those new to end game in ARPGs, Resistences/ Armor, everything else 2nd. This was the same in literally, every arpgs I've played. So in this game so far I've stuck to a rule, every act I re evaluated my resistences went shopping to cap them, upon entering Cruel, firs thing I did was went shopping to make sure I was once again capped, haven't had ANY issues. Current half way through cruel at level 51 with 68% armor, 1.3k life, 10% leech, capped resists across the board (chaos is 10%) and an immunity charm leaning into poison. I haven't died since mid act 2 Normal and I am an average player at best, will be into maps within 48 hours. I will re gear my toon at level 55 as all my gear is currently level 45 so I try to keep up with that as much as I can, which is really easy because you can buy most everything you need along the way for one exalt a pop or Augmentations. Anyway gonna stop before I write a novel. PoE be like that.

Holy moly thank you so much for this guide. I got to Act II boss, Jamanra, and was getting discouraged. Now I realize I have a massive gear problem with low level gear that I've been able to just get by, albeit with some difficulty. Also I had no idea about how the different attack types scaled. I won't have much time to apply what I learned from this video before Christmas, but I can clearly see now what my issue is.

The BIG mistake people make is NOT factoring defense, you CAN NOT build strictly for DPS, you WILL die a lot. You need one of these defenses: Armor, Energy Shield, or Evasion. PLUS you need all resists as close to cap as possible. I dead player does 0 DPS, you cannot rely only on DPS in high level maps -- anyone who says otherwise is someone who never made it to T10+ maps.

Couple of things to add: At the 14 minute mark, when looking at the gear details, notice the T# on the far right of the stat lines. That's the tier of the stat line. T1 means small numbers. T7+, much bigger numbers. So good gear will have higher tier numbers. For an Energy Shield character, it is important to balance the size of your shield, the recharge rate, and how quickly the recharge starts. The longer the shield takes to start recharging, the more likely something will hit you again, and you're back at the start of cool down. But you also need the shield to be big enough to keep you alive, and to have it recharge as much as possible in the time between hits. Certain nodes will do things like provide a big boost to the max size of your shield, but then penalize your start time. So that creates a situation where you may want to adjust your build, swapping an earlier node or two from max to start. Also, make sure you always disassemble any "superior" gear you see laying around, to get the armor upgrade pieces, as well as the martial ones. Boosting the quality means bigger defenses for the armor, and for the weapons more damage.

I beat campaign with almost 0 resistance, fire was even in minus, 0 dodge, block...no one told me there is a trade site where I can buy gear that I would actually want to use. Its kinda silly how overpowered trading is tbh. Also the game doesn't teach you anything, and it is VERY hard to understand at what level should your gear be, what amount of stats you should have, especially defensive stats...so I ignored it completely lol and just went brute force to see how far I can go. Still, I managed to beat the campaign in 26 hours, every hit was me almost dying...but I managed to do it so I am kinda proud of myself :) For now tho I am done with the game, I overall like it. I hope they WILL change some things that are my pain points, and I will gladly play it again when it is fully released. Ofc, now armed with the knowledge. Thank you!

Exactly. You pay for a tab for a service not in game. Then go off game, find the item, and message said person. If they're online and not busy, you then party up then trade. At what point did any of that sound like a good idea? They literally already made an auction house lol... but paying for something not in the game is bad. Auction house will never happen. GGG always looks at the long term for their games. Look at what auction houses did for Diablo 3. It left the games in shambles. Auction houses make the challenge a walk in the park, drive-by shooting. Then players move on because they have what they came after. They are bored. There is a desired friction and challenge in giving the trade system to the players. The devs want to not have the added responsibility of maintenance of an auction house. Gripe and debate all you want... Chris Wilson has always quickly said no to any notion of an auction house. There are more than adequate alternatives in place. Not gonna happen.

I found a staff with double the physical damage of the one in this video for 1 exalted orband I have to tell you you are 100% right about it solving 90%of the problem or I'd say closer to 80%. Defense is so important in this game. Still getting all my resistances up. I was fortunate enough to get one before the inflation ran rampant. I hope the devs find a way to get that under control. The trouble is going to be for the people trying to get from maps level 7or so on through. You are not getting enough currency to buy the now way over priced gear and it's hard to get through the higher tier maps that get you the currency with out said gear.

Im still playing thru campaign as time is a commodity! However ive found that if i start struggling a little squeezing just a little more damage from somewhere can make a huge difference. Im also feeling good about my build but need some more levels to really bring some things online. Killed the collosus in 4 tries yesterday so not terrible. Im also looking forward to the crossbow skill buffs ggg was talking about, could potentially help me! Im running with the shotgun skills and a totem, just doing my own thing.

fyi if you want to search for an item with a affix on it you do not have to type 1 in the min box, it will add all items with that affix if you leave it empty. the min box is great to rule out lower stat items, IE if you want at least 30 res

my first rolled toon was a melee warrior. i was at 215 deaths by the time i got to maps........... now im at 231. definitly he has hit his stride. One other tip that often made a huge diff was make sure your flasks are the max lvl you can use at the time.

Never die again by getting all your gear to have + health in attack and also kill but attack is better . Play something that hits multiple times per attack like lightning arrow etc also keep evasion high Add in plus mana on attack and face roll the entire game. It’s that easy. You can face roll through slot if the toughest boss mechanics just by making sure you have plus health on attack on your items. I almost never use mana or health pots anymore when farming with this type of gear stat.

I started having major issues end of act 2 and even more so in act 3 with my Sorcereress and now I can’t even move forward without an enemy sneezing and I get one shotted. So I went to a witch minion build and was having an easier time for obvious reasons but yeah. I just could not understand why o was having such a hard time. My resistances seemed fine, respected to get around 700 shield and about like 600 hp, I think armor was my issue? I was near the end of act 3 so lots melee hording enemies I couldn’t even move without getting one shotted by something simply sneezing. And it just made no sense to me. How much shield and hp should I have by act 3? How much armor?

Console player here i just use my phone on the site there is a xbox logo on the bottom when getting asked to sign in, you sign in and you can direct whisper same as pc and using your phone negates this issue from using the xbox browser and having to jump back and forth between browser and game hope this helps console players.

90% of my deaths in this game have been from what felt like cheap one shot boss mechanics. Other than that, theres one move on the boss in act 2 phase 2 that essentially one shot me and even when i tried to dodge out of the way it moved two fast and killed me twice. Otherwise, I've rarely died in this game.

Was very confused by this as well. I had a crackling staff that looked like it had insane stats but my dps would go way down when I equipped it. Crackling staffs suck just so ya know you get an insane amount higher damage just scaling a physical staff

Same here , all my Lightning damage scales from Physical for my ranger. Keep trying to find a good bow with physical role and + to bows skills. The gear is so RNG based it's a little frustrating. Be nice if they made the percentage of gear that's drops be for your class , intead of all this random gear all the time. It makes me have to rely on vendors to gear up way to much.

Just take your time. The bosses make you play their game until you get rally powerful. Shoot whatever you have at the boss while focusing on not getting hit.

I’ll give you a tip for the guys that can also shoot ranged at you. If you’re a ranger character it’s easier to pull off. If they’re doing those ranged aoe attacks get right up on his body and spam attack when he starts to aggro for close range attacks you dodge roll out to ranged position and do that until he goes for his ranged attacks again and just repeat that until he dies. I had trouble with him too as a ranger until figured out how he attacks.

Too many cheap death in mapping. You doing your thing then from outside the screen, 3 or 4 enemies jump straight on you, dead. Or a horde appear then run at you at 100 miles an hour and smack you into oblivion with no amount of rolling or running being of any use. Maps are already rare, no clue why we are so limited in enjoying the endgame but I completed 7 blue maps level 6 and 7 without finding a single map. All I have left are level 4 maps now, just ridiculus.

I REALLY loved the game at first but now that I’m in the endgame I can safely say I legit HATE it 😢 It’s BEYOND a slog. Losing exp is BS, takes WAAY too long to level up, sifting and leveling gear is straight up worse than D4 when you had to sift through all the yellow items, on top of that legendary items are SO underpowered and lackluster- once again worse than D4 ever was, the loot drop rates are NON EXISTENT and if you play SSF and don’t engage in the cancerous RMT then good luck. The cadence and attacks of enemies are RELENTLESS and overturned, not to mention the stun cancer in the game. There are times when the enemies are attacking from all sides and the screen looks like it’s D4. The thing is up until then the game wants you to watch attack patterns and deliberately dodge to survive. They don’t give you the tools to deal with the insane amount of attacks that will fill the tiny corridors of some areas. It’s not so bad in the open but once again, what kind of game are you wanting us to play GGG?? One where we deliberately have to dodge and carefully strategize or one where we can spam and steamroll and tank a screen full of enemies and attacks….?? The monk has several bugs that outright prevent you from being as effective as you should be….. I legit can go on and on and I will state once again that I LOVED the game at first. I understand it’s early access and the cracks are REALLY showing. When you play these games you begin to realize that the devs themselves have NEVER actually played the game. Which kind of makes sense when you think about the fact they work on said game ALL day. They tend to engage with the game and its players through data and I’m sure all of this stuff looked really good on paper….. But in practice it seriously just STOPPED being fun almost COMPLETELY 😢 The only reason I’m still slogging through is because I chose this for Christmas, I don’t value my time and I don’t really appreciate/love myself the way I probably should. Otherwise, the sane and rational thing to do would be to put this game down until they address the PLETHORA of issues it’s facing Straight up too, I would MUCH rather outright pay a premium price for a game instead of having to deal with “free-to-play mechanics”. These games are the epitome of not respecting the players time and GGG has made one of the WORST examples of this phenomenon, imo. I don’t like comparing it to D4 cuz I just feel they are too different. But at this point I can truly say that D4 is just a more polished and respectful game to its player base. You think I want to give Blizzard the W!?? On top of everything the MTX prices in both games are BEYOND egregious GREED HAS RUINED MY FAVORITE VIDEO GAME GENRE 😢

my monk has max res except chaos, 1900 life is lv 75 and still gets rng one shot on t5 maps all over the place. this games shit for non sweat lords

@the__man ya sorry I'm not into trading so i have to work with what the game gives me. I can't max my res if i stack life. So ya this games for tryhards. I want to like it because it looks and sounds great but the difficulty spike is obnoxious

Maybe you're blessed with good rng but for me to get a high life roll plus 2-3 30+ res on a piece of gear might as well be like getting 3 cherrys on a slot machine. I've been pulling that lever this whole time and in order to have max res my life is 1900. There's no way to improve max life on the skill tree yet you can significantly boost energy shield and mana(mind over matter) to make sorcs tanky af while my monk has to rush into mobs and get obliterated. Is it any surprise more than 45% of the players are using storm weaver?? I just started a sorc and she's already dying way less than my monk. Terrible terrible game balance between melee and ranged must be fixed! On death effects that one shot in maps need to be removed!!!!
