1997 Fiat Punto 1.2 16v ELX Bertone Cabriolet at italicar

We think these soft-top Puntos are some of the most underrated retro-cars right now. Built by Bertone rather than in the main Fiat factory, they are becoming incredibly rare, particularly here in the UK. There are now just 59 examples remaining on the roads, in fact!
Originally a Fiat press car, then registered to a main Fiat dealership this example had had just one private owner since it was seven months old. It had covered just 46k miles over this time and had literally thousands spent maintaining it.
It was totally original, down to the genuine radio cassette still in place (and the buttons still worked perfectly on the steering wheel!), the authentic Punto floormats and the very rare addition of the genuine tonneau cover.

1990s I was in Lanzarote for 3 weeks I was alone, hired a soft top Fiat Punto within the first few days a very busy man definitely girl puller that car.

I've got one of the 59 left, maybe less, since it is 2018 now. Bought on 2012 for 750 GBP, had to replace the roof since rain was dripping inside. The heating radiator is such a shit, that in winter I have to fill up with water every 2 days. The exhaust pipeline, costs 50 GBP and gets rotten every 2 years, brakes are poor, the handbrake cable just broke on my own one, had to rebuild the head due to a belt jump, lots of patches of steel have been welded to the floor because it was completely rotten, the consumption, for a 1.2 petrol, is absurd, somebody broke the driver's side rearview mirror, and I needed nearly one year to find one in a scrapyard. But I know how rare it is, especially with 4 electric windows and roof, and I just need to drive it half an hour with the roof down, and I forget all that shit. Fiat Punto convertible is the new Alfa Romeo Duetto.

gaetano zappulla They can be used daily without any huge problems. While some parts for the Mk1 Punto might now be becoming scarce, there's nothing too hard to find. We'd say buy one and have some affordable top-down, Italian fun!
