Italy Easily forms the Roman Empire - HOI4: By Blood Alone

Thanks to Paradox for giving me an early access preview to play BBA!
So yes, I did the Rome that formable nation enjoyers may or may not have been waiting for - although i didnt want to use this video for that as there are far better paths to follow to achieve that. Instead i showcase a simple method - effectively a tutorial strategy - to form the Roman Empire in a consistent way avoiding conflict with a major till the very end.
Whats interesting is because they changed how it works, the change means you could form historically as Italty without disrupting Germany to the north - and you taking the south. Pretty big for HOI4 multiplayer lobbys i think.

Just tried justifying on greece/yugo/turkey in dec 1939 (like you did) and UK is guaranteeing greece and turkey.. did I do something wrong?

I never found adding new troops to ethiopia necessary save for the two in Libya, That and i somehow find it easier to push in the north than the south using the Ctrl-Right click the unites on Aussa to the province next to it and their front falls really quickly. I also avoid escalating so i choose the other option to 'By any means'.

It joins shorty after US, the US Ai loves to justify on them for some reason, also if they finish the Vichy tree it asks for its territory back, except Alsace, and joins the axis

So in the new Update, when i play as italy and send ultimatum to yugoslavia they accept it and became my puppet so i cant have instant wargoal as you did in this video, Any tips?

Hi! So interestingly I believe the ultimatium decisions for Italy to the Balkans use the same decision code as NSB Soviet decisions. As a result the format is the same and there will be two major things you can do to reduce their likelehood to accept. - Do not be the same ideology as them - Have a weak army ( I think it runs down strength factor of 20% stronger, 50% stronger and 100% so aim for not being more than 50% stronger in terms of deployed manpower than them. idk if navy and airforce manpower count to that to but i dont think so) - Bonus selection for Italy has an increased chance for a nation to defy the ultimatium if Italy is NOT in a faction. So do not be in the axis or any custom faction when u send the ultimatium for a boost. - Lastly, and i could be wrong about this because i always mess up AI factor chance - but raising opinion with them will have an impact - for better or worse i cant say though lol (has_opinion = { target = FROM value > 75 } will reduce the chance they will accept. Hope this messy answer helps - play on historical and delete some army is my best tldr - and army in training ready to deploy doesnt count so abuse that too!

to get the focus tree you need the dlc but you can still reform the roman empire even if you dont have it. he is using the dlc btw

No, its far easier imo - the latest dlc additions do add slight complication but if you play Germany the game has little difficulty.

Is the world tension thing new? All I knew was to keep total WT below 25%. So if I keep personal WT below 10% the allies won't guarantee anything?

nah its not new - its just seemingly nobody knows/talks about it. theres a distinction between world tension which is the number on the globe at the top right. and how much threat you have generated. this number is seen as: "We have generated 5.8% World Tension" when you hover over the globe. When its below 10% the number is yellow so you can justify safely, when its above 10% its red meaning the democrats will try to stop you.

@@aidanpoling899 regardless of anything it should go down by 0.5% every month in terms of world tension. If you mean 'personal threat' then yes it could be possible still being at war with Ethiopia locks you out and if so youre gonna need to beat the Ethiopians fast enough like in the video... rip rip lol

In my game Turkey had a civil war right before I did the focus to get the war goal, and the true turkey needs to OWN Antalya, which they didn't so I have been waiting patiently for 4 years and turkey is still in a civil war. Historical focuses are on btw.

base templates - except i added 1 artillety battalion to the standard division. i later created a 30 width 12/2 with art supp/anti air ect that served well for important pushes with little supply like africa and naval invasions! :)

It might be the difficulty level. I kept getting the same result on Recruit, but perhaps normal difficulty will make them less likely to accept.

so as i did in the video - i bring troops from the mainland over and push in - taking the christmas offensive - and make sure i prioritze the south. once you take aussa, try and link up the south to aussa then push for the capital. you dont want to push in the north any more than you need for the northern offensive. anymore and youll be fighting an entrenched enemy in addis ababa. pin the enemy in the northern mountaisn while your southern troops focus on getting the capital with the friends you used to take aussa. after that its a lil bit of luck of the ethiopian ai :)

The soviet will justify for the romanian states near them - Bucovina, Besserabia and Southern Besserabia. If you want to avoid war with the soviets just dont take those states in the peace deal and leave a pointless romanian state in its place. note: dont puppet them either - soviets will still justify and same problem.

The ai will defend their border (all 4 of them lol) against bulgaria meaning there is less troops on your border making the push into yugo, rom, gre and tur far easier - never call them in tho because theyll steal war score - pesky bulgarians lol
