Hi, Our family of 4 is coming to the region in mid June. How many days do you recommend us staying in the Puglia region? Would 10 days be enough to spend there? And where should we split our time from Bari? To Lecce. We will pick up the car from ROME.
@waysoftheworld_ Жыл бұрын
@@miavirginia7767 Hi :) There's so much to see in this region honestly, but it depends on what you like. 10 days with a car should be a great start to get a taste of it though! And about splitting your time in the region, we're not sure because we've only been to Bari and did a quick day trip to a nearby town. We would suggest pick 2-3 bigger cities as a base and then do day trips either by car or train ;) safe travels and enjoy your time in Italy!

We just spent 11 days in Bari, taking day trips around Puglia by train. Your video brought back wonderful memories. Polignano a Mare was spectacular. You should check out Alberobello. After Bari we took a train north and spent 11 days in Pescara, in Abruzzo. More modern that Bari as it was rebuilt after WWII. The food is incredible and the city is vibrant, with beautiful beaches. It is very close to the Gran Sasso, but you really need a car to explore the region.

just a heads-up for your next trip in italy: the classic italian gesture 🤌is basically a question mark. We use it when we say "what do you want?" or "what are you saying?" or even just "what?". And we use it more when we are angry. It doesnt make much sense with an affirmative sentence 👀 The old man at the end is speaking Bari dialect and even thouhg I live one hour and a half away from the city I could only understand something about him being stronger than a young man. Next time you visit puglia I suggest Ostuni, Monopoli (very close to polignano), alberobello, and more to the south Lecce. Also Matera (oldest city in europe) is a must see in the near Basilicata region (just half an hour from bari)

thanks so much for trying! We had no idea about the dialects. Definitely going to look into this to learn more about it :)

Beautiful video...can people of Bari communicate in English?
@waysoftheworld_8 ай бұрын
It really depends, the younger people typically speak better English - but from our experience I wouldn't say that it's super common.

No worries. We've had many many issues with our audio since the beginning of our channel. Trying to learn and get better with our newer videos, but this one wasn't one of them. We understand :( Basically, Bari is awesome and you will eat a lot of good food 😂

One of the worst pizza's I've ever had in my life was in Bari. The city is so dirty and not for people who like their food. Also, we were left disappointed with the number of caffe places per neighborhood. All in all, a city-harbour.
@waysoftheworld_7 ай бұрын
Not for people who like food? Did you only find yourself in tourist traps? There isn't a major city in Italy that has bad food, you just have to go to the right spots 🤷🏻♂️

wonderful but most underrated? I dont know a single person who hasnt been there and not hyping it. It is one of the most hyped place in italy in 2022/23

We understand why... ;) When we visited we didn't know anyone who had been there, only one person... we all know different people lol - Bari is honestly one of our favorite cities in Italy now!
@Nomad_783 Жыл бұрын
@@waysoftheworld_ can understand why. Ok i live in Italy it’s different but it’s insane that anyone visiting us in Italy wanna head down to puglia :) we live in lazio so not that far just a few hours drive. But agreed puglia is a special place

Bari hyped? That's a news for me, unless you were talking about Polignano A Mare
@Nomad_783 Жыл бұрын
@@thetemptedvida8650 i said puglia. Where did you read i said bari? Can you read? I meant the whole region in general, we can discuss every town one by one if you want but that’s not the point. Point it Was unknown some years ago, but now everyone i know wants to go to puglia. (Polignano is 30min to bari) this whole region is very known now not like 10-20y ago when you thought you discovered a gem nobody knows about…

@@Nomad_783 Sorry but if the title says "Most underrated CITY" it is clear to me that you're talking about a city. Maybe I do not know how to read, but I know how grammar does work. Bye.

I am not sure what you are talking about, in Rome there are plenty of fantastic places to eat, just do your homework and avoid tourist traps as in every touristic city large or small, but to say that in Rome food is a disaster it's just ridiculous
