Thank you for the review of the airline and that plane. I'm flying on Delta in Jan and the last leg of my trip is on ITA from Amsterdam to Rome. It's just over a 2 hour flight so it shouldn't be that bad.

There is another airline in Europe you need to try called La Compagnie - apparently every seat is business class and the food service is amazing! It would be a good airline to review.

Greetings from Sydney. I arrive in Sydney 2 hours ago on Cebu Pacific, Airbus A330-900neo from Manila, flight is 90% full, flight is good and okay, 7 and a half hours, I pre order a meal, called beef abodo with rice that comes with small bottle of water, it taste good and okay, but the cabin is a little warm and dry on a 7 and a half hour flight to Sydney because there is no air vent and the legroom is bad and tight, 29 to 30 inches, I felt almost quite uncomfortable, but I am okay.

I've flown recently from Rome to Tokyo with ITA, and it was... mediocre, to be generous. There was only one hot meal service (other airlines have two for routes this long), the food was a bit bland. There was a sandwich mid flight and a packed breakfast before arrival. A couple of window shades were absent: people had to stuck some safety cards in the windows to cover them and get some sleep. Also the staff was a bit approximate and not welcoming, and wifi never worked during the flight, as well as the inflight maps. Luckily, the A350 was recetly refurbished and both the seats and the IFE were great.

@@NapierAviation767 If you're looking for economy fares I suggest Air Asia with prepaid luggage and preordered meal. If Citylink (Garuda's LCC) goes to your city that's an option and the old familiar Jetstar with prepaid luggage and meal is usually reliable too.

It has its problems, but I would say Garuda Indonesia for sure if it’s within your budget. I’ll have a review on Garuda for Australia to Bali in the near future :D

I did take one of ITA’s old planes, and in the video I acknowledged that and also that ITA has many new planes which probably have better cabin. ITA’s fleet however still has many older planes, with around 35% of their fleet currently being A320ceo family aircraft.

Traveled with the old AZ (Alitalia) a few times. Service was pleasant! ITA's invention might be to do with EU not allowing government money to used for airline bailouts. Thanks for the great review!

Shabby, dirty old plane, I've never seen screens roughly removed like that. At least they could have covered the gap neatly. Amazing. If I go to Europe I'll give ITA a miss.

These planes are going to be removed from the fleet in a few months as they are renewing the fleet. These are ex Alitalia planes. I’ve travelled with there new planes both intercontinental and international and they were amazing. I wouldn’t write them off like that. Yeah it’s a shame these ex-Alitalia planes aren’t good, because I do believe ITA’s newer planes are good but they still have plenty of older planes. I didn’t think ITA was retiring the A320s yet?

Alitalia owed more than €1 billion when they stopped trading, this airline is essentially Alitalia, same planes, same staff, same management. Typical corrupt Italians, this airline will be bankrupt soon.

It did buy some assets of Alitalia so there are definitely some similarities.
