I would pick Virgin over Qantas or Jetstar no question. The secret is to do what I did last time I flew and buy food and drinks at the airport to take on board to avoid paying the obscene on-board prices for Virgin food and other than that, the prices are not that bad. The seats (at least on their 737s) are comfortable enough for even longer flights between, say, Brisbane and Perth and the service level is decent. And the food selection at the Virgin terminal at Perth Airport is light-years ahead of what the Qantas terminal has to offer. Plus Virgin doesn't cancel a flight and only tell people its canceled long after the decision has been made.

I have a checked bag 23.4 kg … will they charge for fee because of 0.4 kg more ? With Iberia economic airlines … any information , I appreciate it. From USA

Good review on the 737. Southern China isn't a bad airline. But there website is terrible to use. You need to be a member to do anything and it's not the easiest to register for someone overseas. It's improved since you can register with an email now. Previously only chinese mobile. If you wanted to add international number you need Southern China desk to add this. Normally in China. I flew them ages ago and l remember the lady kept on saying tea in chinese.

Nice bit of footage of VH-SEF, recently acquired by Sharp Airlines but the marks of its previous owner (Air Chathams) still clearly visible! The entire Sharp Airlines operation in Launceston is very interesting, if a little dated, their terminal certainly is!

Jetstar screws students in New Zealand. At the end of every Semester they triple or quadruple the flights to Auckland for returning Students and ever other poor b***** who flys that date. I had a ticket Dunedin to Auckland during those dates, I bought 14kg hand luggage but my bag split, the replacement bag was slightly over dimensions required for hand luggage so I asked to check it. ‘No they said, it’s not transferable’ every budged airline the world (even Ryan Air) wants to limit the amount of Cabin Luggage. They made me pay NZ$180 excess luggage to Auckland! I could fly to the US with an extra 20kg suitcase from Auckland for NZ$200! Gouging thieves !

Great video! Looks like you picked the best seat in the mini cabin right at the back. Being right next to the engine is a bonus too. It would have been interesting to stay on board during the turn around in Bangkok, its not something you usually see as a passenger. Last time I flew into Hong Kong (CX regional A330) we parked at a remote stand, from there the bus dropped us at a bus gate (500-504) and I had to go to gate 49 for my connecting flight which is about as far apart as you can get at Hong Kong. According to google maps the distance is about 1.4km, so yes it's a huge airport. Thankfully I had a reasonable connection time, but I remember some of the other passengers were quite anxious about missing connections while waiting for the busses and in the slow queue getting through security.

Is that your 1st time flying Cathay's 5th freedom flight from Singapore to Bangkok and on the actual 5th freedom flight for the 1st time (I am referring if you flew the 5th freedom flight for the 1st time), if so, how is it and did you like it?

16:36 and 22:11, That's the same runway I was flying Vietjet, Airbus A321 to Ho Chi Minh that I flew for the 1st time last year at the end of May, flight is good and okay, 1 hour, it's cheap a good choice to fly on short haul, but nothing special.

14:38, Same when I flew Singapore, Airbus A350-900 from Barcelona to Milan on the 5th freedom flight for the 1st time last year in June, flight is less than 1 and a half hours, it's good and okay, about 25% of the passengers, including my family and I disembark, while 75% of the passengers are continuing to Singapore, wow, 1 way, I pay 50 Euros, it's quite cheap.

12:44, Wow I didn't know they have Boeing 737-900 non ER without winglet I think, wow it's almost identical to all Boeing 777 families, including the 200 and 300 non ER, even the 200LR is also similar. Also Alaska has Boeing 737-900 without winglet, wow.

Well, sadly, there is a probability that Cathay Pacific is not my favorite A350 operator anymore. Why? Another A350 operator, Singapore Airlines, the most iconic for the Aircraft types has different A350 configurations and Singapore Airlines is going 200% beyond expectations with its overall performance and its Airbus A350s.

19:45 Judging from the color, my guess is probably one of Thai Airways' signature drinks, tamarind tea. Cathay uses THAI Catering at BKK, so that's probably where they got it from.

11:04, Same when I flew Airasia Malaysia and Philppines from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur last July, 1 week later, I flew Airasia Philippines from Kuala Lumpur to Manila, I was disappointed that my tray table is not clean and the ground staff never check and clean all the tray table seats and plane after 1 to more than 1 hour turn around. But Air New Zealand is a different story. After Air New Zealand passengers deplane, the ground staff clean the plane, including all the tray table, it's good and some airlines do it (not all airlines, some airlines, including AIrasia didn't clean the tray table and plane and I was disappointed, but both flights is good and okay.
