just for correct information, we won the first 2 titles (1934 1938) as a superaggressive team, with a module called "sistema" which was the forefather of 4-3-3 that Mancini is using. Catenaccio was born after WWII and the "tragedia di Superga" (where most of the national tema died in a plane crash), and already in 2006 the module was nothing connected with it. About population: Italy has more or less the same citizens as France and slightly bigger than England. And incidentally more world and european titles (and finals) than the two together :)

Gossens, Miranchuk, Malinovski, Freuler, De Roon, Muriel, Zapata... And of course Pessina and Toloi. I don't know if it's because I lapse between international tournaments, so I like to learn a lot about the teams/players in a short amount of time, but the totality of their TV coverage (announcing + studio show(s)) is the best thing I've seen on ESPN in a long time. Thanks for letting these roundtable discussions breath, instead of keeping things ultra-concise for the sake of ads. Also, this whole operation seems devoid of "hot takes."
