In this video, I am riding from Foumban, to Melong, in Cameroon. Around Melong, I visit the gorgeous Ekom falls, and ride up to Man And Woman lake, on top of a volcano. But the rain keeps on making the journey very hard, and this day is no exception...

Africans born and raised in rural areas are trained to help and support each other. That’s why when we grow up and get an opportunity to travel to the western world for greener pastures, they try to manipulate our belief in humanity to pay or us low pay checks and when we retaliate because we are educated, they consider us stubborn, oh my sweet home Africa 🤦🏽

It's funny most of the time. The richer the people are the less inclined to help others. These people who have next to nothing. Are all ways there if they can help out. And money isn't the motive. Yes it's appreciated. But that's not the reason. It's love for people and to help each other. It's sad to say a lot of us have forgotten how to live. We have moved on to the me, me, attitude and stuff any body else! And Itchy boots has shown us there is still nice people around! Respect is the word for this! Love all your photos and what a life! We are all the way with you.every steep! Every hill, every water crossing. I have never seen another program like this or even close to it. What A adventure. And what a love of people and cultures, and of the weather! Thank you! Itchy boots.

@@joedonner9476so the thing is when you’re born there, you don’t really have much to compare against cuz it’s your “new normal” you don’t really get to think you’re poor cuz those around you live in very similar circumstances so that’s the life you know. We cultivate our own food so we rarely go hungry and that to us is wealth. Only when you step out of the rural areas and go into the cities and interact with others that you kinda feel poor but we’re always contented cuz we know some people don’t even have food to eat but we do and it makes you want to work hard to do better for your family

@@kizitobewah2166Wow such touching words. But I guess you're one of the richest people on Earth - because you're so open minded, so helpful and as I looked like on the people (not sure about the rural area) you guys are still happy and still smiling and having fun. Even if you don't live on the highest living standard, but you're still helping out each other and even foreigners. I think this is what is totally missing from the 'western' world...but you can compare it now as you're living in the States now - so what do you think?

@@belanagy5595 so hospitality and respect for elders and strangers are two of the values instilled in us from kids. You don’t need to know someone to help them or feed them if you’ve food. We grew up in such a manner you could go the whole day without eating at home cuz the other families nearby fed you all through the day. You knew almost everybody in the village by name and we always interacted with each other. My first cultural shock in the US was when the person living next door spoke to me rudely because I said good morning. I didn’t know I was supposed to mind my business. But overall the difference is very clear but don’t get me wrong the western world has its pros as well

Two books by naturalist and author Gerald Durrell, published long, long ago in the 1950's, tell of his collecting trip to what was then British Cameroon. Those books are the single reason why today I am a biologist, with many, many years of work and research in Africa. In those days, far behind me now, I was also a motorcyclist, criss-crossing mainly East, North East and Southern Africa on an old Yamaha XT500 and later an early BMW R80GS. Very pleased with these pictures, I'm getting homesick. My former place of work was B.C.H.S. Njinikejem. Best healthcare at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Mission Hospital, Njinikom, Cameroon with Dutch and German doctors (at that time). School and orphanage with kind children. I look forward to further reports from this region. In Cameroon you have the entire African continent in one country. For everyday problems and obstacles you say "Ashia". I wish you a safe journey in 2024.

It feels more safe and people are so kind. That's the Cameroon I remember...a country where we were able to travel from north to south, from west to east and sleeping everywhere, without bothering about security. Cameroon is such a nice country, and I'm sure there much to discover. Welcome to Cameroon, the "African continent in One country", translated in french: "Afrique en miniature". Enjoy!!

This is Courage and Toughness if one is looking for definition of these words together. Riding through a beautiful terrian but treacherous one at times , Noraly is doing the incredible. And this ride was fuelled with Bananas for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner the previous day. What's most striking is that we don't get to see even a tiny bit of complaint on her face. All we see is Noraly's pleasant smile and humour. Itchy Boots Vlogs are lessons in our life. Salute you Noraly

This is hands down the best tourism advertisement Cameroon could have asked for. So far (I have only been following since Sierra Leone), Cameroon has left by far the finest impression through your videos. Even though I also thoroughly enjoy the parts where you 'just ride' (a bit of an understatement, considering the traffic, roads and conditions occasionally), I like it even better when you visit a specific site. And the ones in Cameroon have all been so interesting and beautiful. Bedankt!
