The first real riding day of this new adventure and wow, what a day!
This day was so long and full of unexpected events that I had to turn this into two episodes!
I was looking forward to riding dirt in Argentina, and dirt I found! But a sudden thunderstorm, slippery mud and a nail on the road turned this day into one that I won't easily forget..

In my experience, Argentines are very welcoming to foreign tourists and will go out of their way to land a hand when you run into trouble. Andres the teacher, seemed very nice in taking the time to show her around as the storm passed. In spite of the language barrier , a true Argentine gentleman.

I really like the way you say "Chao" on each of your videos. It is an international way of saying goodbye. Just like "chimo". Chimo is a friendly way of greeting someone in Inuktitut. The word 'Chimo' is believed to mean a special friend for people in need of someone to talk to. It is said that when the Inuit people would greet each other with the word 'Chimo' they would simultaneously circle their hearts with their left hands.

I love how people will help bikers no question. I had a similar experience touring in France during a rain and thunderstorm. We took shelter under a tree in a residential area and a Lady was hanging out her window gusturing us to go inside her house. She gave us food and coffee, we tried to communicate the best we could, and then off we went as soon as the weather cleared up. Lovely experience.

Hi Noraly, possibly avoid any future punctures by installing ‘mousse’ inserts instead of tubes.. these will completely eliminate punctures but have a limited life span. Just a thought. Might be easier to order replacements a couple of times in your trip and never have to worry about punctures again. Search ‘motorcycle mouse inserts’. P.S. LOVE your channel and thinking about a Himalayan myself! Take care and please keep the vids and travel coming! 👀🙌

Thing to remember as you move through northern South America and Central America: Back roads may not be your friend. There are people and places on some back roads there that do NOT want visitors. Some that do not want them to an extreme and dangerous level. I enjoy watching you and just want you to be safe as you ride. If you stop by my area in America, I'd love to do some miles with you. I can even recommend places to stop/stay in my region.

I wonder if you will catch up with Charley and Ewan on your trip.. you can't miss them ..they'll be hanging round waiting for their bikes to charge. I think every good adventure needs points of reference... things to remember that aren't just nice temples or lovely food etc. The puncture is a perfect start in lots of respects as was the rain, mud , dropping the bike and the people you met as a result. I'd say a memorable and demanding first day. wouldn't you ?... far better than just pointing north and keeping going. Can't wait to see how you sort that puncture in the mud with all your luggage... rather you than me. Best of luck Noraly , I am looking forward to 18 months of updates.. a little escapism for the people / bikers trapped in the 9 - 5 :-)

This is why the concept of "bucket list" is flawed - you would never say "I want to stop in a rainstorm at a school in Argentina and meet interesting people". It happened to me at a bus station in Argentina - we could not get on any of the buses - it was January - and we met some friendly people who invited us to their beach house. Just coincidence that it was Argentina! But totally excellent and not planned. So much better than seeing the Taj Mahal with a million other tourists! Not to say that the Taj isn't good... It's just not comparable.

It’s okay to do what she did. Most of these remote places don’t mind having someone pull up to their house. The people know when they see you that you are a tourist or looking for help so they will gladly assist you. Obviously be careful at night because the owners will be sketchy and careful when someone pulls up especially in a motorcycle since motorcycle theft in Argentina is high and at night. But other than that it’s safe to do so.
