I think we increased the efficiency of fusion about 10 million fold from the 1970's, just to the breakeven point in 1997. 20 years later we couldn't even double that to make an energy producing device. We "should have" dumped many billions and our best scientist into fusion at that point. This is absurd---but oh so convenient---that we have to wait for the oil to run out (and the energy industries profits) for us to develop this tremendous resource that could have made everyone (including the myopic rich) much much richer in terms of what they could really do with their otherwise meaningless paper money. Such plentiful energy would have allowed us to solve world hunger, provide abundant cheap water (though desalination), rescued us from global warming, made whole different industrial processes economically viable and highly profitable, and provided the cheap energy infrastructure so that we could spend our money and time on more productive things in general. We've all been cheated out of trillions of dollars and much greater leaps in technological progress by luddites who have rather burnt up Americans tax dollars on our military blowing up brown people for more oil.

What will happen if there is an accident? For e.g., if the magnets fail and the plasma escapes. What will happen?
@SuperBunkerbuster6 жыл бұрын
Fusion energy is so powerful that not much matter is required. The plasma inside the tokamak weighs only a few grammes! So if it escapes, or touches anything, its temperature will cool down, stopping the fusion reaction. And despite being at 150 million degrees Celsius, it can cause serious damage but not on large scale as we're talking about grammes of matter. And the head of the project says "if we succeed", because no one ever achieved a controlled fusion reaction that produces more energy than needed to heat the plasma. For now, ITER isn't yet operational, everything is still theory. So until practice proves theory was right, "if" is adequate.

“You can imagine plasma as lightning rolled up into a ring, which is held in place by strong magnets ...” If the lightning is rolled into a torus, then it itself will be held by a ring magnetic field inside this torus. And no magnets are needed. Anapol is a unique state that occurs due to the closure of the lines of electric currents and the electromagnetic fields created by them. Tokamak vice versa. The existence of an electromagnetic anapole was predicted by the Soviet physicist Yakov Zeldovich in 1958.

ITER will be the experiment of its kind designed from the ground up to produce and capture up to 10x the amount of energy it would consume in startup and operation. The project itself is only a proof that the technology exists and can be a viable power source for the world and the hope is to be able to take this proof and build upon what we learn to be able to produce clean abundant energy. As for a magnetic failure or any containment breach for that matter, Fusion is an entirely different process to fission. Fusion requires a delicate balance of temperature pressure and magnetic acceleration for the plasma to even exist, In other words if any one of these variables is even slightly off the plasma will cool within a millionth of second and the reactor is shut down. It is scientifically impossible for a runaway reaction or some sort of plasma explosion to occur.

what you are trying to achieve, that could change route of earth in solar system based on very high and extremely large magnetic field, pressure, and temperature...Never forget that earth has same structure of core...Meaning that you could accidentally unbalance earth movement while trying to achieve something else(like producing more power as simulating sun)...I might be wrong but i believe that innovation(producing extremely large and continuously, energy like simulating sun) it will bring huge drawbacks ...
@thinkigreen7 жыл бұрын
wow, you figured it out. All those scientists that studied for years in their silly books are idiots, you should go tell them. it is not possible to make a magnetic field that would outbalance the magnetic field of an entire planet. the discrepancy in size between something man made and an astronomical body is too large. it would be like holding a candle to the sun. may god help us in this modern age where anyone can string a couple words together thinks they are more smart than hundreds and thousands of educated engineers and scientists. jesus fucking christ
@tand81287 жыл бұрын
I also said that I might be wrong...About Scientists silly?...No they aren't actually they are smart, even some are genius...But they might an idiot, example they first discovered, innovate, and used atomic power as nuclear weapon rather using generating power for life usage...Scientists could block it as using for a weapon before publishing it or illiterate people(mostly leaders) discover that can be use as a weapon... They use both (fission and fusion) reaction for creating weapon(thermonuclear=fission first and then secondly fusion) first...am I wrong at this point... So in my opinion there is nothing impossible in this life...as impossible things can be discovered.. soon, later, far later ..so it is just time...like computers Moore's, neurons, quantum computing...etc At this point: Q: Can u answer that What Max Sun temperature in Celsius? A: 15000000 Celsius... Q:In fusion experimental what degree they archived in Celsius? A:At least 150000000 Celsius... Q:can earthquake be simulated...?What a sick mind trying to do such a thing? A:I think they already do... I am sorry my friend but I believe that wind cannot be seen but we can feel it or see what it does...

Stan Sandu How can God give us freedom to know some very important but also dangerous things, for example to the controlled thermonuclear reaction if we as a humanity lack a moral, spiritual, intellectual and scientific education? For example, one hundred years have passed since it was discovered that there is much hydrogen and helium in the Sun, and it was concluded that a controlled thermonuclear reaction occurs in the Sun. And for 70 years, humans have begun to build different devices or plants to make a thermonuclear fusion reaction like in the Sun. But since the late nineteenth century, human science began to be blocked because scientists, over to nickname, have misinterpreted, without reason, certain practical experiments and issued wrong laws and principles that contradict the good laws developed on the basis of practical experiments. , logical and rational. Today, most scientists have an intellectual basis, linked to standardized theory. They believe scientists because they have learned some books with standardized theories. These people cannot know the matter in its depth, with the seen and the unseen, because Albert Einstein in 1905 with his theory of relativity told them that the ETER - respectively the etheric matter does not exist. If there were no etheric matter then, they may believe that there is no spiritual matter, and they do not want to know anything about the heavenly worlds that live with us on and around the planet Earth. I, as an engineer, believe in my opinion, but also of many researchers in the field of underground soil richness, that all MATERIAL RESOURCES: coal, oil, methane gas, all minerals, do not come from a mineral or vegetable and animal source, but have they were simply created and planted or buried, or introduced into the earth's soil by our "extraterrestrial" brethren. The termination of material resources - said and natural - actually expresses a time, a period, in which our humanity must reach a certain LEVEL of scientific and technological DEVELOPMENT: such as mastering the controlled thermonuclear reaction, as the greatest source of inexhaustible energy. We must not fight among ourselves, as in the jungle, but try to awaken ourselves in the knowledge of things, to move on to the heavenly science of our creators: God and the extraterrestrial worlds. Until now, no such information was published, but it is now in the news. Every year incursions of O.Z.N.'s (heavenly ships) take place above the silos with nuclear weapons. That is, aliens deactivate our nuclear weapons for over 60 years, weapons 20 meters below the ground. When an O.Z.N. in the air above the silo and sends a red ray to the ground, on the launch screens it appears: "No gou!" And the Americans and the Russians have declared these incidents. We as a humanity have developed ourselves militarily, but not at the high level of the extraterrestrial entities that supervise us! That is why, not coincidentally, in 1985, presidents Mihail Gorbachev and Ronald Regan met and decided to build several ITER = International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, as an international scientific collaboration between the peoples of the earth's world. Researches in the field of controlled thermonuclear fusion have been carried out for over 60 years, there are many installations of many kinds, and over time I have studied them, and I have come to the conclusion that controlled thermonuclear fusion can be achieved, but not after the models presented on the Internet. You can make an installation: according to the operating model of the Sun; after the description made by the patriarch ENOH in his book and after the outline of the device for the production and emission of the magnetic field flux, a sketch that is on the tombstone of Palenque - Mexico. I'm talking about Patriarch Enoch, who was very little quoted in the Bible, but he talks a lot in his book, describing everything the angels showed him in heaven, how the heavenly world works and about us people. But the Book of Enoch was considered APOCRIFY (that says too many real and clear things) and thus the Bible was covered with a great deal of information. In the Book of Enoch chapter 68, the patriarch Enoch being in a celestial ship, which gravitates around the Earth, the angels show him more things from heaven and Earth but also show him the camps of all stars and all the lights". In the south of France at Cadarache (near Nice), the experimental energy source is being built: the 42-hectare ITER, and in 2018 the construction was completed in half. If we surround the participants in the construction: Japan, China, Korea, India, Russia, the European Union, the United States of America and others, we notice that we are on the path of globalization. After about 200 Tokamak-type installations, with Laser and other types built over the last 60 years, NO ONE HAS WORKED, and then I think that what is being built now will not work with the model it is running, and with the technology used. The notion of: "FIRE", .. flames of fire, tongues of fire, living fire, circle of fire, vivid of fire, circle of fire burning in the four corners and ascending like rivers of living fire, all these refer to the electromagnetic field beam of the magnetic trap, which surrounds the installation and enters the thermonuclear combustion chamber again to powerfully space the thermonuclear plasma sphere of the reaction. In the heavenly ship Enoh believes that he is shown a wonderful divine vision, and he describes without knowing exactly what he describes, that energy installation, clearly seeing the unfolding of the thermonuclear reaction in the middle of that light, and in addition seeing the path of the electromagnetic fluxes of the magnetic trap. , inside and outside the thermonuclear combustion chamber. Two spherical halves joined in the middle form the spherical chamber of thermonuclear combustion. I made the sketches from 2012, I gave them on the Internet, but few noticed them. I think this will look like the first controlled thermonuclear reactor installation, and we should call it: "ENOH-PACAL model controlled thermonuclear reactor!" This is a standard model for future energy installations, which will give us electricity for all our installations. industrial and domestic. I did some 40 years ago an attempt to make a device for the production and emission of a strong electromagnetic field flux, I saw that "something moved", but I did not have the control devices and the necessary electrical current . Then my limited possibilities did not stop. But today, when we see clearly the rapid depletion of fossil fuels, and the long questionable construction of ITER, I try by those exposed to participate as much as possible in the realization of the controlled thermonuclear fusion with the project of a simple and fast to build facility. With a team of 50 people with manufacturing experience: 20 engineers, and 30 skilled workers, you can do a working group within the ITER site, in a work area of approximately 800 square meters, powered by existing utilities: electricity, cryogenics, vacuum installation, verification equipment, and with a financial fund of ten million euros, I think that one year can be obtained from starting the necessary results to build a controlled thermonuclear fusion plant for marketing that directly produces electricity without steam and turbines, without switch of heat.

A more accurate claim would be to say it's never going to happen with this machine, not on a large scale anyways. This is more of a test designed to collect data, which will go into the next machine, and the one after that, etc until there is a machine that CAN do large scale fusion. The first plane didn't go mach 3, you can't have high expectations right at the start of a brand new technology.

Trust me it works. But why in hell would you guys build one so big.. For a waepon maybe.. Like always messing with mother nature. We are going to end up like a movie mortal engines..😒
All I can say is - We might be so advanced in technology, but safety is of a less concern, in the overall picture. I see that the engineers of this age don't know allot about how to build a stable building, that could weather for thousands of years as you should expect when tapping into such energy, I can't imagine why, don't they build these dangerous devices in buildings shaped as a pyramid. In case of Fukushima Daiichi disaster if the building design was a Pyramid, the tsunami wouldn't have been a problem as the water would just be diffused by the natural slope of the walls. So let's face it - There is no building design more stable than a Pyramid, why are you building such dangerous device's in buildings that are not up to the standards of building that last for thousands of years, they don't neceserally need to be of granite, at least in built in the most stable shape. It's mind bending, I am afraid of nuclear plants because they are not safe enough, when I look at the shape of the building It hurts my head thinking who designed this unstable structure? Haven't they got a clue that a pyramid is the most stable structure on earth and that these kinds of super toxic elements should be kept in the most stable design possible ? LoL

Sustainable fusion-- in other words, getting more energy out of a reaction than is being put in, is NOT possible. That violates fundamental Laws of the physical universe regarding the Conservation of Energy. However, rather than simply spout some law or other statistics, I'm going to tell you exactly why we cannot actually create long-term fusion the same as a star. This is inarguable, and the only reason the entire Fusion Community hasn't realized this is because (as with most such science things), nobody is taking all the physics aspects into account. In a nutshell, here is how a star works, and why you can't recreate one: A star creates heat in its center. Not by reaction, but by mass. By mass alone. It works, solely because it begins in a gravitational vacuum, allowing mass to clump together in a largely spherical shape. Past a certain threshold, the center of the mass is squeezed so tightly from all directions, the atoms themselves crushed to the point that they come apart-- and a star is born. A core of pure energy without mass, surrounded by a mantle of mass. The pure physics is this-- transformation of gravitational force against mass into electromagnetic waves. And therefore, you cannot gather enough mass in one place on Earth to cause this nuclear breakdown, you cannot create sustainable fusion. You'd have to make a full-scale star. Phycisists need to stop concentrating solely on containment- that problem is trivial to solve comparatively. The real problem is scale; is mass. And you can't solve that one.

+Victorbrine Cassini Hiroshima...Nagasaki... this is *total* bullshit. If the magnetic field would suddenly disappear what would happen is .... not that much at all. You have to see that inside the reactor is almost a vacuum, that means there is *very little* stuff in there. I don't know how much exactly, but probably way less mass than a glas of water in that huge fusion chamber of ITER. (Oh, and part of the fusion products, namely the neutrons, always hit the walls, that's how the energy is being extracted out of the fusion process).
@cod6guy127 жыл бұрын
Fusion reactors can't 'melt down' or even explode at all, really. The only thing keeping the fusion reaction going is the immense amount of heat and pressure, both of which you would lose immediately if something went wrong with the machine. The only thing I can really see going wrong with this design is if somehow you lost control of it and it wouldn't turn off and you had nowhere for the output to go. But that is an EXTREMELY specific and unlikely scenario and wouldn't really cause any problems for us anyways.
