Never too late to learn !! I have built hundreds (literally) of PCs since the CP/M era, but I never knew that the tiny PC speakers were polarized. I can see why so many people love your videos because they are clear, concise and ACCURATE. What more could anyone ask ? FYI: I built a PC this week [ May 2024] with a NEW motherboard and was amazed to find that Windows 11 allowed the PC Speaker as an audio output device. I haven't seen that for years!

Nice to hear that we could help. I never though to look for Windows still supports the PC speaker. Nice to know. Thanks.

For the IO clips, a lot of ppl cut them off because there were a lot of situatios where some clips would touch the USB ports and cause issues.

It's not a bad idea to cut them off. They get in the way a lot.

Do all 9 holes on the motherboard need to be screwed in when mounting it to the case?
@itfreetraining
@itfreetraining 3 жыл бұрын
Not really, as long as it is held in place. The more screws the better to hold it in place. However, if you building a computer for someone else it looks more professional to have all the screws in place. Usually I will use a minimum of four, one for each corner if it is a testing build. For other people or if being filmed for a video I will put all of them in.

For those that don't have the clip, just touching the walls of the PC case or the PSU will be enough solve the static electricity issue.

Generally now days electronic parts are pretty static resistance so you can't argue that if you are careful and you remove the static electricity by touching the case first you won't have any problems. We show the way you should be doing things, however in the real world you may not worry about doing this if you are careful.

@@itfreetraining After reading a ton of matterial and watching a video from der8auer where he shocked components on purpose (they worked afterwards), in my opinion the danger is minimal to non existent. Having said that, if using a clip gives people peace of mind and confidence I will not stand in their way, nor judge them.
