If it makes you feel better, it's 85f/29c degrees here in California. I only drink PSLs iced or I get a cold brew with spiced foam, which has become a common drink at the indie coffee shops around Southern California since October is basically still summer here. And it has been for at least a decade now.

I'm in LA and it topped out at 93 this week (not sure what that is in Celsius, it's so hot my brain has stopped working). It was 95 last week. I know I joke about it being 80 on Halloween here but it's meant to stay a joke! I don't actually want it to be this hot on Halloween! My costume is all pvc!

I tried a pumpkin spice latte for the first time a few years ago when visiting the US in October, and I was thoroughly disappointed because it just tasted like Christmas to me 😅 The list of spices in pumpkin spice is very very similar to the list of spices in gingerbread, basically just in different ratios, so it felt like the wrong holiday!

​@@lightsoutisayit's called pumpkin spice because that combination of spices has been sold as "pumpkin spice" for use in Thanksgiving pies since at least the 80s when I was a kid. They just took a spice mix that already existed and was familiar to people to make a seasonal drink.

I'd say it tastes pretty similar to Chai Latte, probably because there's cinnamon in both mixes.

No, Chai is distinctly different. It is a dark tea and also has cardamom in it along with the clove and cinnamon unlike pumpkin spice.

The first time I ever had pumpkin spice latte, it was at McDonald’s, and they just called it pumpkin latte. I was like “WTF does a pumpkin latte taste like”? When I got my coffee and tasted it, I was like “ooooh, it’s pumpkin *spice* flavor”.😅

in Finland that tastes like Christmas, all the same spices. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger... We use these spices for drinks and for baking all December basically.. But I like to spice my coffee with cinnamon all year round, so naturally i like pumpkin spice lattes too! :D

My favorite seasonal pumpkin drink is the pumpkin smash from Jamba Juice. Both regular and dairy free options are soooo good!! Adding banana to the dairy free option is great too.

The pumpkin spice chai latte is really good, all the benefits of pumpkin spice but without the coffee. They also do a steamer version with just milk and pumpkin spice

That's my favourite Starbucks drink too! I worked at Starbucks at the time and we had black forest lattes it was for spring that year too. So yummy tasted just like the cake. I guess you could get mocha with raspberry to replace the cherry if they still have raspberry syrup. It could taste close to it.

Coffee bean and tea leaf has something called a black forest blended drink!! It's basically a frappuccino but black forest! It's my favorite thing to get from there!

Here in America we go NUTS with the pumpkin spice and general pumpkin stuff in October. I even had pumpkin sushi called a "fright roll". Pumpkin spice is in beer and ales, Oreos, trail mix, pastries, and all sorts of stuff this time of the year.

We had pumpkin fluff in our deli salad case a few years ago. I think it can be made with pumpkin purée, cool whip/whipped cream and spices like cinnamon etc. I ate it with windmill cookies. I got some pumpkin spice foot lotion last year. I’m currently using pumpkin spice bar soap when I wash my hands. I don’t drink coffee, so no beverages. I do like pumpkin donuts with cinnamon sugar on them. Your child is quite adorable.

We went to LA in May for Cruel World, Sisters and Cure. We had breakfast each morning at Starbucks that consisted of vanilla cappuccino and pumpkin spice loaf slice. I like to get at least one pumpkin spiced late/frappuccino a per fall season. The flavored coffee drink I prefer us the peppermint mocha, which until recently was a winter only flavor, but lately store brand creamers have caught up to selling it year round, so I can justify having it all the time since its not $5-$6 per drink that way... and I can make it however I like, no extra charge. The thing about pumpkin spice, is it's not a pumpkin flavor at all, but a blend of the spices that go into tradional fall/winter treats like cinnamon, clove, mace, and ginger - it's called pumpkin spice here in the US because it's popularly used in pumpkin pie that we like to serve at Thanksgiving and other fall get togethers. Granted, we do also enjoy our savory squash dishes and soups, pumpkin pie is just hugely popular here. Now that I have that out of the way, yes, all sorts of wild "pumpkin spice" things out there, ranging from bug spray, to Oreo cookies, and everything in between. A quick search for it on the local grocery chain website offered yogurt, macrons, cookies and pastries, pre-made coffee mixes, candles, hand lotion and soap, cream cheese, candles and wax melts. I also just now came across pumpkin spice dog treats and even pumpkin spice Doritos chips... sometimes I think we take it a little too far with our favorite fall seasoning blend. 😅

One year and ONE YEAR ONLY, Randalls had some pumpkin spice golden Oreo cookies for autumn 🍁 and I thought it was the weirdest thing they put on their shelves, but yours truly being gullible for sweets decided to buy them to learn how they would taste - those cookies and those Sandies shortbread cookies complimented coffee very well! I got so happy when autumn to check anything Halloween to add to my home and those pumpkin spice cookies were on my list until they stopped presenting them in their shelves, I was crushed.

I love seeing the area in which I have lived before in the vlogs 🙂 I still frequent the area for different shops and appointments so it's great to see familiar spots in the background. I haven't tried a pumpkin spiced latte and I don't think I will to be honest as I'm not a big fan of spiced coffee in general. A friend of mine raved about a gingerbread latte somewhere did, I tried a couple mouthfuls of it and wasn't a fan. Ohhhh I saw Ratt Scarer post about that Metal gig on Instagram, I was going to go but no baby sitter and no transport now.

I'm from Belgium and the whole pumpkin spice thing isn't very huge here so I have no experience. Spring in New Zealand is something else for sure. I was there in November last year, had a good laugh at the Christmas trees next to palm trees while everyone's in shorts and t-shirts! Either way I had an amazing time in your home country and I cried so hard when I had to leave. The 40 hour trip was well worth it. Your make-up is absolutely gorgeous by the way! Hope the phone story has happy, inexpensive ending.

@It's Black Friday Funny yous are getting Fall stuff there. You can always gets a Pumpkin Spice Creme Frappuccino- No Coffee! All drinks can be made with no coffee. All drinks can be customized any way you can think within their menu! Staff usually happily accommodates❣ That's a huge factor on what sold me on them. & the more pleasant taste of their coffee, if I want coffee. I'm meh on pumpkin spice as a drink-- I've tried it hot, I've tried it cold, but it's not my thing. I much prefer it in baked goods. I tried the Keurig Starbucks Fall Blend this year, and it's really good in my opinion; it could be nuttier, but I like how it's more bold than sweet.

Pumpkin spice isn't bad, it's nice when you can actually taste it. I've had it from multiple different places and only 2 of them I could tasted the flavoring, it does sound like an American thing, i prefer peppermint flavored thing especially hot chocolate with peppermint. the weirdest pumpkin flavored thing I tasted and was really gross in my opinion was the pumpkin spiced honey nut cheerios cereal . sorry to hear about your phone, hope you don't have to buy a new one if you don't have to. Also really like the orange eye shadow you have on today

You probably know this, but most "pumpkin spice" foods have no pumpkin. It is an American thing. I'm 45, and I recall even when I was small jars of "pumpkin spice" mix in the baking aisle for Thanksgiving pumpkin pies

@@andromedaspark2241 yeah, I was mostly meaning in things like coffee, I think you really have to put a lot of in there or something I’m not sure, I remember trying one out at a McDonald’s thinking “oh this could be nice” then it ended up like they just served me black coffee. I also tried adding that ti the hot coffee at home with liquid creamer but ended up with the same results so I don’t know if it’s supposed to be for cold coffee.
