Imagine ITV1 airing a sitcom at 7pm on a Friday night now in 2023, totally unthinkable. Back then schedules were far more varied.

It is amazing that ITV never aired a proper networked national weather forecast before 1989. It was always left up to each regional company to provide the weather forecasts.

These Granada Reports titles would carry on until 1990 when the programme would become Granada Tonight

Very true Steve There are still many North Wales viewers who still watch ITV Granada to this very day but they want viewers to watch ITV Wales instead but a friend who lives and is a local TV Engineer in Colwyn Bay says that the locals still prefer to watch ITV Granada as many ex pats from Manchester, Liverpool, Stoke who live in North Wales like to keep up to date what’s happening in the area

@@robster773 no doubt about it, Winter Hill still has a strong signal, but gone are the days Granada would routinely report from North Wales. Slightly ironic considering that Manchester is a lot closer to Colwyn Bay than Cardiff.

Presumably ITN didn't want to give any of their 15 mins over to the new National Weather... therefore the schedule had to be moved forwards by 5 mins to accommodate !
