Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975. Freddie died in 1991. This Green Day concert is 2017......... Only Freddie can lead an audience of 65,000 people 26 years after his death.... And many of the people in this crowd weren't even born when Freddie died..... but they know all the words....

It's coming a little late but... French national here, I know the lyrics of that song. Sang along all those people in the stadium. 🥰 NUMEROUS times, thanks to KZbin (🤣🤣) I'm envious of you guys for that moment. Cherish it.

As a Brit I can tell you this is pretty much our national anthem. Freddy died 20 odd years before this happened just shows how much of a legend he is. He's very much still alive over here.

You took the words out of my comment 😂. I'd think more brits know the words to this more than the national anthem too.

I was lucky enough to be in that crowd, completely spontaneous reaction. The band were due on a bit later, music was playing on the PA but then Bohemian Rhapsody came on and that happened.

The members of the band Green Day are huge Queen/Freddie Mercury fans. They play the soundtrack of Bohemian Rhapsody before every concert. This time, they had a camera set up perfectly to record the crowd singing. It has been sung at other Green Day concerts, but this is the best one. Thanks Green Day !!!! and R I P dear Freddie !!!!

This is not the first or the last time a Green Day crowd sang along to this song when it was played over the public address system, but it is the first time the band set up a camera at the back of the stage to record it. The things that make this performance amazing are when it was done (42 years after the song was released and 1 year before the film was released) and how in sync the crowd was (apart for a bit in the operatic section) despite not being able to hear the music over their own singing, they even sing the guitar solo part.

Yes! Green Day is a fan of Queen. Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" has become the introduction to their concert and can be sung by the audience. It has sounded differently by the audience everywhere. Thank you for great reaction.

it's the only one mate I was there. It was his hometown, his house is only 1.5 miles away you think us Brits don't know the lyrics it's becoming our unofficial National anthem (with your permission MA'M ) still love our Queen (as Freddie did) i will not bow though. mark my words the Queen would not mind (well more clued up than our stupid politicians)

I love when the crowd starts jumping when the "headbanging" part starts. I know this happened once at a Garth Brooks concert in Ireland. The entire audience started singing as Garth did and you could tell by the look on his face, he was blown away.

British people are conditioned to sing in large groups, it starts when we are very young at school every morning with school assemblies, where we group sing hymns! This is why we also sing and chant at other large gatherings such as football matches! As someone who was born in 68, and was 14 approaching 15 when this song came out, Queen was my childhood. I can guarantee most of us in Britain can sing word for word most Queen songs, I want to break free.. we are the champions.. killer queen.. don’t stop me now… etc etc not just this made famous in Wayne’s world! Ask those same people to sing our national anthem, I can guarantee most won’t even know one verse! You need to understand the relationship.. this was a British group, whose music was played continuously on the radio here during the 70s & 80s especially. The group may have become popular in America, but much like your own popular musicians, they and their song will have had more exposure and airtime in the US, than here in the UK. There is also the DEEP connection the people had to the group, the 70s being a time of GREAT upheaval in Britain. Never ending strikes, water shortages, bodies piling up in morgues because grave diggers were striking, rubbish pilling up in the streets 7, 8 feet deep in some places due to strikes, electricity rationing 2hrs a night due to coal miners strikes, heatwaves.. it was never ending. But then came Queen, like a bolt of energy in a bleak world.. He spoke the words we all felt.. who hasn’t wanted to break free! But, above all it was our love for Freddie!
