The band were literally waiting in the wings to come on, but when they heard what was happening, they just let it happen, all credit to them for that.

To be fair, they always let the song play in full. They have a pre-show mix tape that plays in its entirety before the band comes out. Bohemian Rhapsody has been on that mix for decades. Blitzkrieg Bop too.

Worth remembering this ISN'T a crowd that have come to see Queen. This is what all Brits can do. and no we couldn't sing the whole national anthem like this nor would we want to.

Whilst the events continue to occur, Freddie will live on...and I think he would've loved it. As Jess said, the technology we now have, and did even then, can be renewed, kept going and thus Freddie's spirit will never die. It gives a warm glow and a tear to the eye but that glow. This song is 49 years old now I remember back in 1975 when it first came out. My children grew up listening to Queen, now my grandchildren are growing up listening to Queen. People from all around the world, that don't even speak English can sing this song perfectly. In a hundred years people will still be singing Bohemian Rhapsody and remember Freddie Mercury and the incredible gift of music he left behind . The world was a better place with him in it 👑

Bohemian Rhapsody is almost an alternative National Anthem throughout the UK. Many "youngsters" who were not even born when Queen were performing can sing every line of the song flawlessly, and frequently do at many major events. All it essentially takes is for the music to start in the UK and you will often get one or two people, to a huge crowd at a concert or sporting venue singing the whole song with gusto and immense pride. Freddy is beloved, and Queen are a national treasure. You should look for other venues where the crowd sings along to Bohemian Rhapsody. I'm sure you will find quite a few :) Great reaction, and thank you!!

I don't know if it happens anymore, but growing up singing was almost a daily occurrence in schools. My primary school had a morning assembly where we sung hymns and on Fridays a school vote on a selection of "age appropriate" modern songs to sing. I cannot hold a note to save my life to be clear, but I wonder if that's why us Brits are happy to sing songs during these sort of events. You see it on a more basic level in football chanting

Greenday are massive Queen fans and put this on before every show. As a Queen fan myself, It makes me tear up every time I see this and I'm sure Freddie was looking down with a grin on his face. Us Brits are born knowing the lyrics and it's our unofficial anthem 😂
