Chef Jeffery, my husband and I have worked over 40 years. We have a business for the passed 29 years and went through hard times but it’s paying off. I have a house in the mountains that I could sell for over a million dollars. I sold a house at the beach and made 400 grand. I’m building a 2 million dollar house and I’m paying cash for it. We sacrificed a lot, I live on a budget but I have no debt. I pray before I make decisions and god directs me each time. I tithe and I’m glad to do it. Bless you, you deserve everything you have

@ people don’t understand all it takes is hard work and sacrifice. I lost my daughter my only child 2 years ago and I’m sending her 2 daughters to college. I made both of them go to junior college 2 years and then a university and I’ll pay for half that. They have to have skin in the game to appreciate it. They say I’m tough but both of them have 20 thousand dollars in the bank working and going to school. Thank the lord they are listening to us. I buy second hand things and used cars and like you I pay cash.

Chef, you were blessed enough to be able to work with the same company for more than 20 years. The job market has changed so much that people can't retire from the same company. Jobs don't last long enough for people to retire anymore. There are companies that are going bankrupt, companies that are going through temporary agencies to hire employees so they don't have to pay for retirement, and there are companies that are being bought out by other companies. Being able to retire is hard for a lot of people.

Chef Jeffrey, you said it right plain and clear. Some still don’t hear well. You’re saying, if I may, that relying solely on earnings from your job is not wise. People need to explore passive income so that you are not relying on you being at a job for your earnings. Invest in things that make money whether you are actively working or not!!! Our minds and bodies are not guaranteed to function at the same level for 30-40 years. I personally think that people should work as long as they want to if that’s what they like but not need to. Live beneath your means not above your means. Make preparations for the future which comes sooner than one might think. As you said Chef, the Bible advises us to be good stewards of our resources. There are also children’s stories which teach this lesson:1) The ant(hardworking and resourceful)and the grasshopper ( playful and didn’t plan)2. The Tortoise and the Hare. I would definitely have to go with someone who knows it, or I might have panic attacks. I do a lot of Arizona roads trips by myself, but it’s familiar to me. I’m still working and that’s okay.
