A little lore behind why Tanya went full psycho in that fight scene. Mages use spells that similar to drugs in order to better deal with pain, g forces, and to aid reaction time and mental clarity whilst fighting. Combine that will adrenaline and the possibility of death and you kinda lose it for a bit.

Yes, Saga of Tanya the Evil is an isekai. In fact, it's part of the Isekai Quartet alongside Re:Zero, Overlord, and Konosuba (and Shield Hero is kind of the fifth wheel in that quartet). What they all have in common is they're all isekai LN series published by Kadokawa, and they were brought together to create another series called Isekai Quartet.

Yeah the thing you have to understand is that Tanya has ONLY this one life left. God ( AKA Being X ) has removed Her from the cycle of reincarnation. Stating that the only way for her to return to his good graces is to show devotion to God. Of course Tanya is saying FU to God. That's why she fights so hard to survive. I think I saw a comment once that pointed out her ‘normal’ voice is one she does on purpose to sound older/more mature, and her ‘young’ voice is more what she would sound like if she wasn’t purposely changing the way she talks. I’ve only seen the show and some of the manga, though, so I can’t vouch 100% on novel stuff

Part of this is, Being X isn't just sitting back and allowing Tanya to convert, Being X is directly trying to FORCE her to convert. You cannot FORCE someone to believe something, that's not how belief works, and that's what Being X doesn't understand. The more Being X interferes and tries to convert Tanya, the more she stands against Being X on principle alone.

@@noahcharles2571 She fired a guy for repeatedly missing work and ignoring remedial options. Not to mention, firing someone in Japan is somewhat nontrivial, the usual approach is to make people quit. All in all I'm with Tanya on that one. That's not to say she's "good", but she did objectively nothing wrong in that instance. The guy later makes it worse for himself, since he's likely going to prison and that'll f his financial situation even more that getting fired (probably not getting hired again any time soon). For another example, the guys she sent to the rear where they would die. They disobeyed a DIRECT ORDER and said THEY WOULD DO IT AGAIN! This could set Tanya up for major trouble if they f'd something up, so she had to get them out of her unit. Death may be quite harsh, but not unfair tbh, given that it also applies to deserters (during war at discretion of court-martial, and this is war).

I'm curios at what ya'lls definition of evil is. In its most basic term, evil is defined as the absence of good. Therefore anything that lacks any components of good such as altruism, integrity, and most importantly empathy can be considered evil. Tanya is cold, calculating, and quite efficient. Tanya fired a guy who as far as we know may have had other issues going on with their life and threw them and their family into financial struggle all to kiss up to a corporation who could care less about their employees. Yes she may be fair, but a lot of her actions fall under the category "evil."

An action not being evil doesn't mean it's necessarily good, but in both cases my interpretation is more Tanya having the intent to protect herself rather than harm the other party (not saying there's none of that, but it seemed secondary, at least to me)

With Tanya being so small her gear can lift her higher and faster using the regular amount of force then factor in her high magic levels Tanya will fly rings around anyone else. Also Tanya is a smaller target to try and hit even before she starts darting all over the sky. Tanya is a true company man and the reason why she comes down hard on any who can't follow orders. Tanya's medal the highest medal that can be awarded and is usually earned posthumously like our Congressional Medal of Honor.

In the Unaltered version of the story the protagonist actually believes in God however he also believes that Humans carve their own futures so he doesn't believe in fate or destiny because as shown in the anime he or now she is an person who mostly believes in Logic. So he also believes that God won't even do something as absurd as saving a human who is getting the consequences of her own choice. And thus she dubs the unknown entity as being X.

The way the anime portrayed Tanya didn't do him/her justice.. iirc in the light novel/manga, the guy she laid off is not only given warning several times already, but also involved in embezzling the companies money and some more.. She's also victim of circumstances, always misunderstood by everyone around her and whatever she does after reincarnation is to ensure her survivability.. She can get out of this by accepting the existence of God, but yeah... her ego is in the way..

Definition of evil is to go against God. It is why I hate the alignment chart in D&D. Evil is subjective based on what God you're looking at. Tanya totally opposes and rages against God. Though the original manga is nothing like the anime and the title is not Tanya the evil, it is still a great adaptation.
