I had a filet-o-fish recently and was really disappointed- it had been awhile and I was remembering a piping hot, plump, juicy filet with melted cheese and tartar sauce. What I got was a shriveled dried-out square of lukewarm breading with barely any fish beneath it, and what there was was not plump and white but silvery, eww! They forgot the cheese but probably just as well, it would have been congealed and rubbery. And about a teaspoon of tartar sauce to help you choke down the dry mess. Unless standards have been lowered everywhere, I'd say it depends on the particular McD's you go to as to quality... still like their Egg McMuffins but that's about it!

We're going to take off this little bun..." And that was a mouthful (literally). If it got any smaller, you'd have to remove it with tweezers. When you put it back together, it looked like a canape, a two finger bite. It is cheaper and just as good to fry up a package of fried filets (6 or 8), take a pack of hamburger buns of your choosing, spread it all out and make up just the fried fish with tartar sauce and a slice of cheese on each. Assemble and put in sandwich bags. Put in the freezer. Do the same with hamburger patties, fried chicken steaks, or sausages. Having a stack of a variety of homemade sandwiches in your freezer means you can grab something out and put it in the microwave or in a frying pan with a lid to heat up. Takes five/ten minutes, and tastes better. At least this way you have choices of buns, kinds of fish or meats, and choices of cheese.

Jack's won the contest, for sure. More for the money and a much better appearing sandwich. I remember about 30 years ago, the McDonalds fish sandwich was priced around a buck. My husband used to buy it quite often because of the price.

McDonald’s in my area, North Carolina have gone stupid with their prices. I typically only buy a large unsweetened tea from them. Have been off soft drinks since 08. Teas last summer were a dollar, now $2.35. No longer buy one. Their mgr says to not buy their drinks their prices have gotten so out of control.

We went to Wendy's the other day for a fish sandwich. It was good because we were hungry but $6.79 is a lot pricey. Two sandwiches and 4 chicken nuggets for the dog almost $17.

I crave the Arby's version of a fish filet. It has the largest piece of fish of all the fast food franchises other then fish tacos that are common in many areas. The Jake's option is more like the Arby's version. The McDonald's version is usually too greasy.

I absolutely love fish. Fried, broiled, sauteed.,. My car burned some important wires when my power steering pump caught on fire in Cincinnati. From FL. Mr Tom, My local store was able to order Dukes mayonnaise for me. I made a loaf of sourdough bread and purchased tomatoes. I am looking forward to trying this Mayo on fried tomato sandwiches! It will be a taste test comparison to our usual Kraft mayonnaise. In a video, your fried tomato sandwich looks so very delicious. Let you know are results. Have a good weekend

Hello Mr. Tom, I like the Filet Of Fish especially during the Lent season, they used to have specials at that time but maybe not anymore. The Jack's looks really good but they are not up here this far North. When I was growing up in Alabama there was Krystal hamburgers and they were 10 cents a piece, those days are gone lol, you could get a bag for a dollar, they were like the White Castle burgers. Since I don't have my car anymore I rarely go to McDonald's or Wendy's. The Kitty Krew got a nice treat to eat. I have a Kitty Krew also, if I can get my picture of them over on your channel I will try.

I remember White Castle. Those little things were good. I was newly married. They were 15 cents and we used to buy a bagful of them. (in Connecticut) They sell small hamburgers (frozen food section) similiar to that at the Dollar General. They come in a box, 4 in the box for $5.00.

I saw the billboard for the filet-o-fish 2 for $6 and Hubby is going with the commercial for Arby's fish 2 for $6. I think this weekend we will go get 2 of each and share. They are both smaller than they were. Mc D's has been my favorite since i was a kid. Hard to believe they are over $4 regular price, which i refuse ro pay. Gas in northwest IL is $3.46/ gallon in my town. Down a whopping 3 cents from last weekend. I thought you might get a Shamrock shake to go with your fish sandwiches. No Jack's here. right, typically that's Pollock Our deli is serving fish on Fridays. I noticed they used Havarti cheese today. The slab is too big for the bun, so they break it in half. Lent is about giving up something or something... I don't really understand it... Ash Wednesday all that. Even though I'm Confirmed, 1986 LCMS.

Looks like McDonald’s needs to up their game. Jacks looks like a real piece of fish. Better bun, too.
