ITS DONE! The 3.6L Pentastar V6 Engine is assembled and headed down to FL so Ray can get it installed in the van. In this video, I hang the timing chains and reseal the majority of this engine, finishing the final round of "engine work" so that the Tosi family has the best possible outcome from this bad situation.

Previous videos on this Van:
1. • Towed In! Died on High...
2. • BIG PROBLEM! Perfect S...
3. • Fixing The Family Van!...
Ray and I have combined our efforts in helping out the Tosi family with their van.
Their 2011 Chrysler Town & Country overheated catastrophically leaving them with just one vehicle. After some careful consideration with Ray, we decided the best thing to do would be fixing a good core engine I had on the shelf and installing it into their van at no cost. Since I've got the engine apart, we're taking care of all of the known problems with these engines which will be detailed in these videos.
Why am I doing this? My name is Eric and I own and run a full service auto salvage business and part of our model includes dismantling blown up or bad engines and selling the parts that are still good. We do not rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those who do. This is a special case where I can use parts from a previous teardown and an engine without major issues to build one good engine. Not something I do often!
I really hope you enjoyed this video and if you'd like to see the progress on this engine please subscribe to this channel and Rainmanrays channel as the entire process will be shared across both channels.
As always I love all of the comments, feedback and even the criticism. Catch you on the next one!
-Eric

Eric - absolutely no worries on this taking some time to complete. Our van has sentimental value to us, so we are glad we get to keep it vs getting a different one. With the new engine, and all you guys are doing for us, it’s priceless to us now. We’ll drive this thing to 500K+ miles if we can. Again, no words can accurately convey our gratitude to you, but… THANK YOU! - Greg, Kristen, Olin, Winston, Levi, Zechariah and Malachi Tosi

Second, it's weird watching Eric put an engine together. Still enjoyable though. And lastly, it's funny seeing you deal with a timing chain tensioner without a tote on your head. Well done to you and Ray. And seeing the Tosi's comment and their gratitude makes me smile even more.👍👍

Your reasoning for rebuilding & sending them an engine was a class move. I drive a 95 Silverado while I bought for $850 w/ over 300K on the motor which blew. I ordered a motor from the Dealer & got one that wasn't a rebuilt, I was worried about getting one that had mixed parts, new/used by some guy that I lost that motor just out of warranty. So my new motor has 10K since I got it in 2010. Right, I've driven about 10K in 14 yrs...... I'll have her til I die but I drive this truck b/c people on the roads do not EVER Road Rage w/ me !! I wonder why that is..... IDKnow but I guess w/ an older model it might look like you have nothing to lose? Great of you guys to help a family.... it is a Class Act . peace

@diggy-d8w
@diggy-d8w Ай бұрын
Yes Douglas, you seem to know me well..... lol, that's exactly how I drive b/c there's no benefit to getting involved in any of these games behind the wheel. Money, Health, and possibly your freedom is on the line in normal travels but most of these Rager's act as if this is a normal righteous way to handle things they do not like? All wrong but you're aware of this as well. I "Expect" them & let them in/out of lanes or on/off at exits but not out of fear, b/c I don't want to be part of getting anyone killed over being an idiot on the roads. Push really comes to shove, I will deal w/ them but it's truly a last resort. You're a wise driver, I'm betting you are an empathetic person overall in life?? be safe & GB

Amazingly over engineered modern day marvels of an engine. Everyone calls them junk, but I can’t help but be astounded at how radically complex this machine was to design for such a tight envelope. The sheer number of precision vacuum cast parts is overwhelming. The tooling cost must have been astronomical for that alone. Not to exclude all the fixturing and tooling required for final machining, inspection and assembly. Wow!
