Manufacturers lose my business when they use this transmission. Will never own a car with a CVT.

Seems like 3.8 litres was a magic number for reliability and ubiquity of application for all of the Big 3.

Automatic transmissions are bulletproof, CVT's have gotten better but if you want a CVT transmission why not just belt drive it with an easy to change belt every 50,000 miles?

Believe me, as a Subaru Master Tech, those chains do sometimes come apart. No drive or reverse coupled with an Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor No Signal is a strong sign. Lately I’ve been seeing valve bodies fail and cause a similar situation, but no DTCs, the changeover solenoid or fluid circuit bleeds off pressure. The rate of failure on these transmissions is relatively low, we just see more because Subaru is pumping cars out faster and faster every year

So, it went down on power without any noise...? 🤣 Looks similar to what I did with my Slant six, BIG inspection hole, starter killed, even the wrist pin was damaged, looked like a tulip.. Con rod in small pieces... The crank was impossible to turn, without loosen the main bearings, it was so bent! So: always do a proper job...😁

The chrysler cams of this Era failing were due to cost cutting measures when the big 3 were bailed out, and they seem to have still not reimplemented quality control, ive recently started refusing work on Chrysler, dodge, jeep, and ram vehicles, mostly I tell my customers to make it SEP and find something else the second it needs more than an oil change, plenty of knuckle heads out there that buy them private party with no questions asked and no inspections.

$30K for a motor when the car costs $75? No wonder GM LS motors are so popular. Dollar per HP is insane for German Cars.

I have a question: Does the Gibli engine have the same ticking noises the pentastar has. Like the noise that makes the engine sound like a diesel truck the infamous ticking noise where you need to replace tappets and rocker rollers to make it go away, what about the low oil pressure. I want to know because i have a 3.6 in a promaster and is driving me crazy.
