I feel like the sadness of this works so well not only due to the death of the hostess and Sky but also because in that moment the human race (a species the doctor has so respect and admiration for) let him down by abandoning morality out of fear. Also the fact that the doctor probably feels as though he failed the two people that died.
@smythejane73454 жыл бұрын
I agree. While they were waiting to be rescued after Sky and the hostess died he said “The hostess....what was her name?” because even though Sky died he could at least remember her from her name but he didn’t know the hostess’s name and was clearly sad at how no one knew what her name was and they were the last people to see a completely innocent woman get killed and didn’t even know what her name was. I feel like the doctor has mixed feelings about the human race but he definetly has faith in them and didn’t expect them to literally go ahead with murder just so they could feel safe. He’s used to “being in charge” in life or death situations beings he looks like he knows what he’s doing and because of that people follow him because he’s the most likely way that they’ll live, but this time he was ganged up on by that blonde lady and her husband, so he was no longer in charge and therefore, the people weren’t listening to him.

I'm surprised a theme as often used as this one didn't once get an official release. Also, great recreation!

Amazing recreation. I really love the It's Gone segment as well. This piece also played in Journey's End after Jack gets exterminated by the Supreme Dalek.

Two hours later, a couple sat at a table in the cafe sweet of the leisure palace, framed by the white light shining high above. Through the glass. One, a women, leant forward in a concerned fashion. She seemed to be sympathising with a man. The man, however, looked cold. Starring blankly off into space and rubbing his eyes as he hunched against the table, almost holding himself. He a retained a slight composure of confidence, though it was clear to all around he wasn't exactly comfortable. He didn't once look up at the glass ceiling. From what could be heard, the women seemed to be asking the man lots of questions, the man replying horsely, almost dejectedly. A slight snarl came over his face at a particular question, as he starred off into the floor, and rubbed the back of his head. He seemed to perk up at a certain alien phrase, though no one could remember what it sounded like. The women also seemed to return it. The man suddenly looked coldly at the women at this, and all that could be heard, over and over again, was the man saying "Don't. Don't. Just... don't."

Absolutely beautifully written, my friend. What a way to accurately retell this exact scene and yet in a way that is aesthetically pleasing to read. I can tell you have natural talent for writing. Boy, I would love if you wrote a rendition of midnight, maybe alter some details to give it depth. God bless.

Donna asks the Doctor what he thinks that creature, that entity was, if it could be still out there and with a glance she had her answer the Doctor doesn't know nor would he ever want to know what kind of twisted being would steal a body, steal a voice and then turn humans, his favourite most beloved race, to their very worst, Midnight will keep turning around its Xtonic star, in silence.

Hi! This is incredible! I was just wondering, could you recreate the soundtrack that plays at the end of 'Fires of Pompeii'? Just when Donna demands the Doctor goes back to save just one person from the town. It's a great soundtrack, and I'm more than certain you're going to be able to recreate it perfectly! Just as you have this one!
