Not that a Taurus is worth much but I found it cool in my line of work how unique it is to have found one of these cars that was lost in time. I went and got this as a junk removal to take to the scrap yard but seeing how it really wasn't in too bad of shape I passed it along to Lost Soul Film Cars where it can be revived and brought back to life as a movie car for some of the upcoming 80's and 90's jobs coming up.

My aunt has a blue 1992 Sable LS wagon. Loaded with options, has over 200,000 miles on it and still has it's factory transmission. I might buy it.

I retired mine in 2006 after many years of good service. It had a huge problem with vapor lock in hot weather, but was otherwise a pretty good, if boring, car.

If it were a Taurus LX or the wagon I'd be excited. I'm on the hunt for a 1986 Ford Taurus LX wagon but it's been hard. I found one over a year ago but my dad wouldn't let me get it.

They drove and handled pretty well, just not reliable! All of these 1st gen Taurus' started rotting from the middle of the door out....not to mention the slew of bad headgaskets and transmissions that plagued Ford's quality back then.

Headgaskets only plagued the 3.8 liter engines not the 3.0s. The transmission issues can be easily solved by regular changes in trans fluid and filter every 30,000-50,000 miles. Ford literally advertised the AXOD transmission as "virtually maintenance free" when the Taurus came out.
