There is a piece on the Battleship New Jersey about the shell for the big 16s. The guy 3d printed all of the pieces of the shell so they can show all of the components. Up where I live there are no catfish. Some bullheads but they are rare. The lakes have a lot of pan fish that can be pickled. I had a great uncle that was fishing a pond that had steep sides, actually an old strip mine. Over on one side he said there was a lot of bullheads. He caught a mess of them and they tasted funny. The sheep dropping were rolling into the pond. I would think you would have carp to smoke. Old timers through fish that would get a mud taste in the farm stock tank for up to a week and the mud would filter out. Town guys would use a plastic kids pool except those you had to add fresh water to every day. Stock tanks were either automatic or had regular fills on summer days. I would say to be carefull eating to many fish these days because of pollution. Even lakes here in the middle of the forest have mercury in them.

One of these days I want to visit the USS New Jersey.. she's an amazing lady.. your advice about the fish is sound Willys.. allowing the catch to purge the muddy taste does work well.. although I've never tried to smoke it they say carp does work well for smoking. Hi Bear & Blackie, great video thanks for sharing the knowledge.vSpeaking on the black walnuts, I use to know a gentleman who did 1790s frontier reenacting and he had a hat band made from black walnuts that had been sliced from the centers of the nuts. I still think it was one of the most unusual and beautiful hat bands I have seen to date. It just shows there are other uses besides the nut for food.

An old timer helped me out on a bear hunt years ago. I had a skin crack on my trigger finger that was really painful. He squirted some superglue on it and sealed it up good as new. The glue was still there until it healed. Good stuff!

I have a bunch of black walnuts, makes a really nice syrup. My blackberries have already come and gone. I have a bunch of buckeyes growing around. I should be having good luck! LOL

Just had our continuously hottest week I can remember in my area (Montreal, Canada). My AC has been going non-stop the whole time and I kinda wish for a good 3 hour tropical rainstorm. Our biggest problem here is that temperatures vary so much between extremes we barely ever get used to it.

I can sympathize Flash.. our heat index (that's combining the air temp and humidity) this last week has consistently been between 105°F and 110°F all week.. I paid my light bill and it was $400.00.. which in some markets is great.. rural southeast Alabama isn't one of them..!! 🐻

goedemiddag mannen !! ik ben 37 jaar lasser aanbouwer geweest binnen in een ketel ( daar zat je de hele dag !) 2 lassen 9 meter rond 6 lagen een las helm met koele lucht anders was het geen uithouden 46 C 2 pauzes van 15 min en 1 van een half uur en 10 uur gaan als een banaan !! Dat kan nu wel vergeten !!!!🥵🥵🤣👍

Good afternoon Rene..! I admire your ability to absorb that much punishment.. 46°C/115°F is no laughing matter. In fact my former brother-in-law died as a result of heat stress just yesterday. He got too hot, fell, hit his head and died as a result of the injury. He was just 37 years old. We can't be too cautious. Thank you for watching Rene.. please be careful..! 🐻
