Sharrah. You are such a beautiful soul. I totally get what you are saying. I always think this way. When the chips are down will you say I wish I spent more time on KZbin and my work or I wish I spent more time with my children and husband. I think you are making a wise decision. Your children will grow so fast snd you will wonder where the time went. I wish you and your family many blessings.

I know creating content will always be a part of my joy and life and I’m excited to be able to diversify what I share and how often I share it. Thanks for being so encouraging 🫶🏻🙏🏻

You only get one chance with your children. Don't miss a moment of it! They need a mother who is all in. You can come back to KZbin anytime. Invest in your children's lives first. You'll never regret that decision! ❤ Blessings to you for your wise decision.

I completely agree! My kids are now in college and I see how fast their childhoods went! Everything else can wait. It is not a badge of honor to say “I can do it all” - it’s a fallacy. We can do it all, but not all of it will be done well. I am also encouraged by your honesty here because now I am at a place to consider other possibilities in my life. I love my current job, but have always worked part time (to make space for my family) and now am wondering what’s next. It’s hard to let go not knowing If the thing I grab next will be as fulfilling. Thank you! Enjoy your Beautiful children!

It is such an American “thing” to never take time or a break or a proper vacation. Honestly, it is unrealistic and crazy thinking. I am so proud of you for standing up for your family and your kids and saying “no” this isn’t okay, and it needs to change. You are such a strong person and thank you for letting us know. Sending lots of love ❤

As a young mom, I totally understand how your time/attention/love for your kids pulls you away from other passions, and it can be so frustrating at first. But you're doing the right thing by pulling back (even if it means getting penalized at work), focusing on your kids and your own mental health, and recognizing that this is just a season. You won't regret it. Great job, Sharrah! ❤️

You can’t go wrong listening to what your heart is telling you. You’re real life is your husband and family. Children grow up so quickly. Enjoy what is most precious to you. In another season of your life you can reconnect. 🌷 EDIT: I came back to say: yay for you! Sharrah do what brings you joy. Life is too short to be on the KZbin algorithm treadmill. I see the stress in so many Content creators and it’s not fun to watch someone “put on the happy face.” Do what you love. You’re a wonderful person. I’m so proud of your decision. I’m your mom’s age and as a grandmother, I feel so strongly that sometimes, young people get busy and the years can slip by. So, good for you! You’ll never regret this. My kids have done much the same. I am excited to see what you’ll be generating on your channel, if you so decide to do more family content. I’d love to see how to dye eggs with natural products instead of food colouring. Not sure if it’s even possible. Would you consider showing how to do designer beds with pillows and throws and such. It may be fun to hear where there are great places to buy kids clothes, maybe even second hand, or show a kids clothing swap party. Also, family hikes in your area. Your area looks so amazing! So many new possibilities and keeping it about what matters most to you, at this stage of life. Be blessed as you’ve blessed so many!

If it makes you feel a little better the algorithms sent your channel my way. I just paused it to say that what you’re feeling/experiencing is for real and that I’ve seen other content creators step away to reevaluate what matters most. Having 2 kids in a span of 2 years totally takes a toll on you (ask me how I know, lol). Take a break if you’re able to and post the content that you’re passionate about. You do you Boo. I’ll share my story with you and you can take from it what you will. I quit my job in 2009 to take care of my 4 and 5 year olds. I felt just like you, I was missing them growing up and I hated it. I stayed home and raised my kids. Today I cannot get a job in my field although I’ve been on MANY interviews. I feel like they see my gray hair and not my experience. I’ve since self taught myself to build and design a website (not in my field of finance and business). I’ve started my own KZbin channel as well about with zero subscribers currently 😅. But I feel what I did for my family was the most important thing I have ever done. It was so much fun and I look back on those days with pure joy and happiness. Although in today’s society I am probably considered a failure since I am unable to contribute to the household finances, I feel like I did the best thing that I could by giving my kids their mother. These are the most precious moments. Celebrate every moment with them.

This is the craziest thing. Several years ago I started following your channel for the interior design content. I was constantly redecorating my house and planning for seasonal decor. In December 2021 I had my first son and about 4 months ago I actually unsubscribed from your channel because that content no longer served me in my current season of life. I found myself looking for motherhood journeys, tips and tricks for toddlers, etc. This video popped up on my recommended page today and I immediately resubscribed to your channel! I am a mother of two young adult children, I too am in a new season of life being an empty nester. I close my eyes and see my babies I open them and they have grown but I have no regrets because even though I was a single mother I knew how short and fast the years would go by. You're honestly one of the best interior designer, content creator, adviser, home maker and Christian I've ever known. I may not have been watching much but I've been following you here and on Insta and just seeing posts every now and then makes me see how beautiful you are as a person. It's also very admirable that you make a video like this. We all need this- this honest and confidence to say that life can be hard and burdening at times but at the same time, we can always set our priorities and schedules in a way that can make us live life happier and even better. Happiness is always found in God and then in our loved ones. It is not measured on how successful we are in terms of our career or other material things. For sure that is part of it but nothing feels more fulfilling than spending quality time with God and our families. I praise God for people like you and your family. You've been such an inspiration and role model for sure not just to me but a lot of us in the world.

Dear Sharrah, it is always okay to give yourself grace. Take the time you need to foster and cultivate your priorities and newfound desires. Focus on yourself and your family and give yourself the opportunity to discover your new passions. Everyone grows as the seasons change and we will all be right here to grow with you. We support you, no matter how that will look like. ❤

Now with the 2yr old I felt torn too, thank you for this video it really help me make peace with being in the presence and its ok to be in your own season. Internet will always be here but our littles ones won't stay little for long. To many success and many more adventures ahead for your new season. Thank you.

Oh honey - what courage and God bless you! I am 67/mother and grandmother and I tell my children all the time “learn from me; let some things go.” I can remember being in the same situation as a professional at your age - it caused so much stress and unhappiness, depression. Oh, the guilt! Took me years to throw that away 😉 You are brave and beautiful - go honey go! 😘

Oh kiddo❤ I turned on my IPad this morning and literally stumbled upon your video. My first time here. I do think it’s Gods way of nudging us to connect with people. It happens to me often. I am oh so moved by what you shared. I am the mother of 3 amazing children, one boy and two girls. They are grown now, in their 30’s. I want to share with you now, if you don’t mind. OH HOW I WISH I could go back to the days when they were little like your children are. My husband at the time and I decided that I would stay home with them and give up the “toys”some adults had to have. We lived on his income. We were just fine. ALL my memory of things I did with them, playing outside, or going to a park, picnics on our porch when it was raining. We’d go fishing once a week when they were old enough. I can still see them as littles ones, and now I have tears in my eyes because I miss those little ones❤ They are all doing great, they are kind, loving, thoughtful souls. they give back to the community and put others first. Was life perfect? Oh heck no. I won’t go into personal struggles. Point being... you ARE making the right decision kiddo. You will not ever get these minutes.. hours, days weeks etc back. Please listen to your heart, I promise you, with all my heart you will ever regret it! Time goes by oh so fast. Yes, sounds cliche, as they say, but it is oh so true. Now, my husband and I are enjoying our grand babies❤❤❤...what a JOY and BLESSING! Funny thing is, we still feel like we are in our thirties on the inside! Praise God for that! Don’t apologize to anyone, honey. I worked at one job in particular when I was nearing my 50’s, and I became numb. I was in a dangerous place. Thanks be to God I left and began a new career. My point is, I wouldn’t wish anyone to feel what I felt over a job, being numb, where you feel no joy, no pain, no happiness, nothing. Go be with your little ones and husband and take care of you, and them sweetie! God bless! 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️

From one content creator to another, Sharrah, this has been the most relatable video I've seen on KZbin thus far. I've gone through the same thing in the past few years and admire your strength to share. I used to make "How to" tutorials but after 3-4 years, I didn't want to do it anymore. So then I created business tips and now I'm making marketing tips. I say all of this because I understand exactly how you feel. One thing I've learned in the past few years, people grow, change and evolve! I love your honesty...I love your work...and I love your truth. I've been watching you since I started my KZbin channel and you've always been such an inspiration to me and how I show up on camera. This is my first comment [I should've commented before lol...whooppss]. I'm with you to the end because I love the growth of your videos and you as a creator on YT. These are the things most creators don't discuss and I always admire people who take the time to share. It's something I have to do with my channel eventually. Thank you for having the courage to share. It gives hope to smaller content creators, like me, to feel seen when the rest of the world doesn't notice a thing. I love you so much and I can't wait to see your new content xoxo💙

New life level unlocked. I hit this realization when I turned 40 or so. I’m 44 now. My most happy times are spending time with kids and family. I had to find a way to do more of that and not be focused so much on things that don’t bring me the same level of happiness. Kids grow fast and I’m glad to look back and say that I was able to be available for them during the majority of their life “stuffs.” My kids, 17 and 21, are good people and I’m glad I was able to help them get to that and I don’t regret a thing.

I also want to share with you, (I wrote a different response/comment below) that I was a psychotherapist for 10 years. I had to close my private practice about two years following the sudden death of my only sibling as it lead to my health issues worsening enough that I could no longer work. I had always loved creative things, art, interior & fashion design, writing, acting, modeling, photography, singing, etc., but my folks always said those were "nice hobbies" but I needed to prepare for a "real job". So I did what they wanted & eventually became a psychotherapist which I DID truly enjoy & also became a life/wellness coach too. However, over the last 13 years since I stopped working, being on disability & slowly improving over time I've become reacquainted just recently with those earlier loves of art, writing, and design, especially interior decor. If/when I work again, I will most likely have some sort of combination of all the things I love, I'll create something that will speak to my heart. But for now I'm caregiving for my elderly folks., so like you, putting family first.

I have been feeling stuck and torn too. My kids are heading into their teenage years and I have been working while they are at school but I know my mind is spread thin. Then my mom got cancer and will be having chemo and I will need to take her to appointments. So I quit my job. I just wasn't feeling that it was right to continue working in a job I wasn't happy in when my family needed me and I needed time to take care of myself too. Now I have more time for my family and I think that it is the right place for me in this next season. Kids grow so fast. You are doing the right thing.

Sharrah .... take it from a mom to 4, grandmother to 12 .... this time with your babies is so FLEETING and precious! You are doing the RIGHT THING! Follow your truth and your wisdom. I chose to be a STAY AT HOME MOM during the 80's and 90's ... that was frowned on back then. BUT, I have never once regretted that, and neither will you! Your family are your eternal JEWELS. Sharrah, this is exactly what I needed to hear! I have been through the exact process with my sister. We had a KZbin channel that blow up because of a shout-out and it was taking over our lives for the wrong reasons. I have two kids and now pregnant with my third, I have been toying with the idea of starting up again but am also not sure cos I know the amount of work involved. I don’t want to miss my 3rd newborn stage etc. God is definitely moving in a lot of creative mums lives and giving us guidance and wisdom in this area and I definitely think you are listening to his wisdom. Be encouraged!! You are making the best decision! All the best lovely ❤

Sharrah, thank you for having this conversation with us and not just falling off into oblivion like some creators do. I can't say I blame them for not saying anything before they leave but it does make one wonder if the creator is ok or is their family ok. Overall, no creator owes the world any explanation, IMHO. If you want to spend the next several years making cooking videos or toddler videos, go for it! Enjoy it! Those who like you will stay and watch those different videos, I certainly will. Life is too short to live for someone or something else. Be true to yourself and your family. Your YT family will be here. 🥰
