I agree with Gundam. Kenny, if you are reading this, please get out of that relationship. She is only one moonshine or pain killer away from harming you at any moment. Look how little she cares about you. I felt no love, respect, or concern for you from her. There is nothing emotionally holding her back if she decided to one day just harm you for one reason or another. Just like we tell women to get out of relationships with bad men, we need to encourage men to do the same. There are other fish out there. Let that catfish go back to the swamp.

Men are willing to live in abusive relationships for their values and children. My brother just started his own life of misery with his nasty narcissistic wife. Who dumped him at one point after their first kid to try and “save” a drug addict, who leaves him to take care of the child while she goes out to party, where she snoops at his messages constantly, there is so much more about her that is terrible. He still sticks with her, and even has another kid with her. My brother is really good at not listening to his other brothers. I told him many times not to have another kid. You spent 2 weeks of the month in withdrawal…for a minimum of 6 months??? And each time jumped back to your full dosage, only to go into withdrawal again? I've had back problems from I was 15 (was told I was too young to have them) so spent the next 20yrs dealing with them which resulted in 3 prolapsed discs, 2 of which ruptured, with the "jelly" from 1 impinging on the nerve root so severely that it completely disappeared in 1 of the slides in an eventual MRI. The only time I wasn't in pain was riding the motorbike and then a year later I was involved in a head-on with a car, in which I shattered my knee and sustained multiple other injuries. I spent 8 yrs undergoing limb salvage procedures to keep a leg which they'd made the decision to remove while I was bleeding out at the side of the road, have endured every knock-on effect possible from PEs to Lymphoedema to sporadic bouts of e-coli from an infection site they couldn't trace and been housebound for the last 12.5 years. The bet result, of course, has been crippling pain from the first time I was medi-vacced from the oil platform where a worked as well as actually being crippled by the accident. If *ANYBODY* had left me without my required meds for so much as 1 day, you best believe I'd have notified my chemist and Dr of the shortfall. Because they keep minute records of such things, I wouldn't have had to notify the police, because THEY would have best me to it, if it was a substantia shortfall from what they KNEW I had received from them, simply because it's a serious criminal offence. There's only 1 way you could possibly have endured such long-term absence from those high strength meds…you didn't actually need them. If you were really in so much pain that you required them, you COULD NOT have functioned without them. I KNOW!!! Not only that the withdrawal from missing as few as 2 doses has me climbing the walls and O can hardly move, yet you expect us to believe that you did NOTHING to try to mitigate your suffering? You didn't contact your physician to get more? You couldn't have for the reasons already laid out. You're either overstating your injury, your pain levels or dosage, probably all three.
@bigyeti842 жыл бұрын
@@iratepirate648 wow, aren't we just an over assuming jackass? Lol. Not that I have to explain anything to some random angry ass on the internet, but you're wildly off on your assumptions. I broke my back "falling" off a ladder, and I put that in quotes because it was kicked out from under me by a douché bag that was angry at what I was doing but that is a whole other thing, and fell about 15'. Landed on my feet and they said the pressure went straight up my spine causing damage. I fractured 4 vertebra (L2-5), 3 herniated degenerative disc's, and sheered the SI joint where you're hip meets your spine. 7 spinal surgeries in so far everything from basically JB welding the vertebra back together with some cement shit I can't pronounce to facet rizatemies to fusing the SI joint and even going through a discogram (literally the worst hell you can imagine). So the injury is there, whether you want to believe it or not is up to you, I honestly couldn't care less. Dosages on all my meds are apparently on the high side. My pain management doctor keeps prescribing them because I'm 6'10" 300 pounds and apparently have a metabolism faster than anything he has ever seen. But I've been dealing with the worthless workers comp system that constantly complains about my dose because they claim "safe" levels are at 50 MED (morphine equivalent dose) and below and I've been between 130-160 MED for over a decade. Once again, couldn't care less if you believe me, but if you really want proof I guess you could message me your number and I could send you pictures of my ever growing forest of pill bottles. I'm currently on oxicontin, roxycodone, gabapentin, trazadone and tizanadine. As for why I didn't run to the doctor, you're partially right, because they would of called the cops even before I could. I didn't know who was taking them, so what could of been done? They file a police report and then I have a mark on my record saying I wasn't responsible enough with a bunch of schedule 2 narcotics. Where does that get me? Not to mention my lawyer told me if I reported it workers comp would try to use that as justification to try and cut off paying for them because... well workers comp is a corrupt piece of shit ponsy scam and at the time I didn't have other insurance and couldn't afford an extra $1300 a month to pay for the meds. So I went about trying to figure out what was happening. Ruled out my fiance because I didn't believe she could ever do that to me, and basically ended up accusing everyone else that could have until I ruled all of them out too. Got to the point I thought I was sleep walking and doing something with them, that's why I set up the camera without telling the lady, figure I'd catch myself doing something then hand them to her and ask her to hide them from me.... imagine my surprise when I saw her taking them instead... As for dealing with the withdrawals, it was absolute hell no matter how you look at it. Insomnia, intestinal cramping to the point it feels someone is stabbing your gut, trying not to shit yourself constantly them sitting on the toilet doing nothing because you thought you had to go but there is nothing left inside you, shivering and having the feeling that even your clothes touching your skin bothers you... none of it is fun. A nurse friend told me of a way to at least cut the worst of it though, fill a 2 liter bottle half way with poppy seeds and lemon juice then the rest with water and let it sit overnight. The lemon juice breaks down the poppy seeds enough to release a tiny amount of morphine equivalent (not sure the exact type of natural opioid in them) and drink 2 of them a day. It by no means stops the withdrawal but it was enough to take the edge off somewhat. The rest, I was just a stubborn fuck and powered my way through it. There was nothing else I could do, so I dealt with it for as long as I had to. Thankfully the withdrawals start to subside in a few days, then it's just dealing with not wanting to move at all because of my back. So that's my story, like it or not little man. Fuck, didn't think I would have to write a novel just because of one little comment on a video... lol

@@iratepirate648 This is a whole bunch of spaghetti, m8. Guy has a completely different problem from you, not this whole LIST of bad luck and bullshit. My Father has worse problems than OP _and they won't even give him medication, opiate or otherwise._ 6 different surgeries on his back to replace discs, shave some down and even put a rod in there and it's still going to deteriorate constantly via spinal stenosis until he's stuck in a wheelchair and then eventually bedridden until he dies. He has chronic pain every single day, can't even take a walk outside for longer than a minute, if he's lucky and can hardly sit down for long periods. He's constantly hunched over due to the fact he can't straighten it out due to the pain, can't even raise his arms past his chest because of it, can hardly get dressed without my Mother's help and was advised never to lift more than a gallon of milk. The only Doctor he ever had that would give him pain meds? Forced to leave because, "He would take too long with patients." A good Doctor who listened to his patients and the Practice got pissy because it meant less people in and out, meaning less money for them and that the front desk had to be there longer. Do you want to know how pissed that makes me? My Father can barely function because of the pain. He lives every single day in agony because OTHER PEOPLE abused drugs and now they're punishing the people that actually need them, because the State government decided to crack down on all opiates in general and scared Doctors instead of actually trying to tackle the drug abuse issue. Because FUCK THEM, right? Do you really believe that little stunt stopped drug abuse or just fucked a lot of people over? I'll give you a hint, it's not the former. I'd love for you to tell me that "maybe he doesn't need them," because the last 24 years of my Father's medical history, from his different Primary Care Physicians, to different Neurological Surgeons, X-rays, Scans... etc. *all say otherwise* _and he doesn't even have A TENTH of the help you do._ Allow me to reiterate this. You want to dismiss this guy's story because of YOUR situation. _A much more drastic one at that._ I've never even heard of anyone in your situation before, even for the people I knew *for a fact* _needed the medication._ Yours sounds pretty extraordinary and I don't know how you think everyone somehow has this team ready to crack down if meds go missing, because OP's situation is unfortunately a common occurrence, usually for people who live with low income and around those with drug addictions. So, you know what? Cut it out. Not everyone has what you do and the majority of people are like OP or my Father, with no protections at all for what happens with pain meds. Hell, I don't even know where you live and it sounds like you have or had quite a bit of money if you get the luxuries. Meds go missing around here and the Doctors and Pharmacy go, "Oh well, nothing we can do."

I was in a relationship like this, it ruined a large part of my life and my Daughters life. I suffered from Knight in Shining Armor Syndrome. The truth is you cant save or change someone from who they want to be. People with substance abuse issues will deceive, manipulate and guilt you into tolerating and supporting their behaviour for as long as they possibly can. The only person that can save them is themselves but as long as they can find people they can fool into believing they want to change they never will. If your constantly drawn to people who need fixing you'll never find happiness. I'm not saying these people are irredeemable but as long as they can find people that will tolerate, enable and support their behaviour they will never have any real reason to change.
@TheCorintur2 жыл бұрын
Addictions are a complex subject but yeah, external support and pressure both have fairly limited effects. Unless the person has an epiphany (a "click") in their own mind and realizes that the irreparable harm they are causing to both themselves and people around them by far outweighs the "benefit" they gain from their addiction, external pressure will just make them dig in or chase them away. But even that is just the start because addictions are most often just symptoms of some underlying issues. You cant just get rid of it if you are unwilling to tackle the deeper issues. In the end, if someone firmly sets themselves on an auto-destructive course then the best thing to do is protect yourself by getting out of their way.

"I haven't been drunk in five months" As someone who has seen alcoholism up close, this was obviously a lie. An alcoholic, functional or not, is always "not drinking" and the list of accomplishments is not surprising. Her reaction is far more telling. If she doesn't have a problem, then why is she so defensive? Her husband literally just said that the problem isn't her, but the fact that he isn't comfortable doing anything because of CONSENT. Why does something that is reasonable make her angry? Chances are it is because she knows she has a problem and will not admit it. And I'd bet money that those "achievements" are lies. Just because she hasn't had a DUI doesn't mean she isn't still driving under the influence; it can easily mean she just hasn't been caught in awhile. And the idea that she'd tell anyone is laughable.
@helloenemy2 жыл бұрын
When my friend was real deep into his alcoholism him being not drunk was being able to down around a fifth of peppermint schnapps, but he wasn’t “drunk” because he could still remember what he did that night. Alcoholics have a different definition of drunk than the normal person.

As someone who grew up with an abusive alcoholic (psychological and emotional), she's got all the signs right there. The biggest red flag is when asked to not drink alcohol, the answer is "no" and "alcohol isn't the problem". For those without experience, here are the typical signs: 1. Refusal to give up alcohol (this is common of addicts of anything... asking them to not do it anymore and they get aggressive about it means they're addicts, or try to defend it... anything except being okay about giving it up). 2. Denial of previous problems having ever been a problem. Framing them as "in the past" and "I don't do that anymore" rather than "I'm sorry I did that and I do X instead". 3. Deflection of blame. Doesn't matter what the subject is. It's okay that she steals pills, because he sells them anyway. Therefore, she's not as bad. It isn't her drinking problem that isn't getting her laid, it's him not "being a man" and giving her what she wants, when she wants it. On and on. 4. Trying to create "tiers" of the bad behavior. In this instance, we only have her talking about alcohol, but most alcoholics will grade their bad behavior by "tiers". The example is "Oh, I didn't get drunk last night, I went out last night" when confronted with her lie about 5 months being the last time she was drunk. Alcoholics tend to "Tier" their bad behavior. It's only "getting drunk" when she's at home. It's "having fun on the town" when it's drunk at the bar. It's only "abuse" when they get caught, and it's "I was trying to help you" when they aren't caught. Bad behavior only becomes bad behavior when specific conditions and criteria are met. So... it's "tiered". 5. Sunken face is fairly dead giveaway. Usually a sign of repeated issues with kidneys and being unable to remove enough toxins from the blood stream. 6. Argumentative behavior. Alcoholics tend to be fairly argumentative about pretty much anything. Even inconsequential stuff. Even when sober. It tends to be their coping mechanism to feel good about themselves when they have nothing to feel good about. 7. Bringing up "past accomplishments" a lot. Drunks tend to live in the time of their lives when they felt the best. They don't move forward. They don't create new accomplishments. They bring up their old ones a lot. Even if their old accomplishments weren't all that great. They live in the past.
