Ok I admit, I have a hard time seeing sarcasm and I don't really care for jokes. But I have an excuse. I grew up bullied and abused, developed ptsd, anxiety and depression, ontop of avoidance personality disorder. I take everything seriously. I can't help it. Sometimes even an obvious joke I instantly take seriously and have to remember that it could be a joke. It's not my fault I have a hard time with jokes. Heck I don't even really like comedy's (definitely not any of garbage on tv or romcom movies). So, do please remember, not all of us women "can't take a joke". It's how our mind's are wired.

Its not about Chris Rock anymore, its about what made Will react the way he did and break his character. A physical slap can heal, Chris did not even need to recover, infact just hours after he did not even want to push charges or put any more burden on Will. I mean, cmon, its about how emotionally jarred and crawled up inside Will's ego is after 23 years spent in marriage with Jada, slowly corroding his mental image and sense of self from the inside. Its sad and depressing for Will and his low emotional or mental state, not about Chris receiving a slap on the cheek, that stuff is child's play.

It's hilarious how all these people want to make Will's anger about systemic oppression or racism or blackness. Yet none of them will look at the thing that has been a much more obvious factor in his life with his wife humiliating him privately and publicly over and over for the duration of their marriage culminating on the whole cheating with their son's friend and then talking about it without shame on the whole red table talk in public then the ruthless mocking the internet of course gave him afterwards since he didn't actually stand up to her even after that. I think that played a much bigger factor in billionaire actor Will Smith's life than the racism and historical oppression of black people did. But maybe that's just me lol.
@RalphJr-xp3hp

Nah I agree on what you said. Because I was so confused as to how these stupid ass people bought in systemic racism and historical oppression over a slap incident. Yeah, what Will Smith did to Chris Rock was wrong but clearly you can see what happens when a man gets ridiculed and made fun of by the choices he makes for his life. All these same people calling Will Smith “a cuck” and “a simp” lowkey are going thru the same trials except they’re not as rich nor well-known as him.

Well, it’s because Will has family trauma. He wants to keep the marriage alive, while they hate each other and he refuses to divorce. He believes that the family has to remain, even if it’s self-destructive and violent, because the marriage isn’t based on love, it’s based on a promise and integrity. If he can’t let go, and he can’t divorce, he can’t move on. I’d expect an OJ Simpson like cuckold murder or divorce soon enough, because he can’t bottle that rage for long.

It’s actually quite a common occurrence in the people of color community for parents to talk like that to each other in front of their children. 80% of the time it ends in divorce and the parents have hatred for each other for the rest of their lives and can’t be in the same room for more than 20 mins.

You know, that lady speaking about the reasons that lead to aggression was on to something. Except that instead of systemic racism, it was the frustration of a man that has been humiliated and honestly doesn't seem to be mentally stable for a good while now. Don't get me wrong, Will chose to slap Chris, he chose to marry Jada, he chose to keep the marriage after discovering the affair, the chose to go with the open relationship. Everyone ought to own their decisions. But damn it, the man in absolutely broken inside. It's a sad thing to watch. No amount of money is worthy going through this, which makes me think it is better to be "Maidenless" than be tied to a luxury gardening tool. Ironically, only being able to interpret a black person assaulting another person through the lens of the fact they're black IS systematic racism. This doesn't mean there isn't racial violence of course, but for 99.9% of things sound logic comes from asking "what would make a human being act that way?" rather than "what would make a black person act that way?". Of course, the question "what would make a human being act that way?" might take you into matters of their race, but if you ask that question it does so far more infrequently than the racist believes. Everything that is driving Will Smith is to do with the decision to stay in a toxic relationship, and to let fear cause you to kid yourself that "infidelity" is actually "open marriage". This is such a generally human error in relationship creation that it's a shame when the racist social-justice warriors cannot see it simply because the person involved is black.

@@Raya-ir4tm your limited understanding of the human mind and psychology betrays your attempt to make a knowledgeable reply What Will did is assault, abuse is typically like a predator/prey thing where the abusing party does abuse to control or manipulate a particular individual. Where do you hear news stories about women abusers? Rarely or not at all. Where do you hear news stories about men who do right or do all men only do wrong? Are there DBag men? Obsession with long / straight hair is ... interesting. I think women care much more than men do. If it's good, it's good, and if it isn't, then it isn't. You just know. No need to start critiquing everything on a micro level. But I guess women care because other women care, and maybe that's fine. IDK.

I haven't had a haircut in years. Most people's hair has a natural length and will slowdown growing when you reach it. Though Crystal Gayle would beg to differ. I don't care what someone does to their hair as long as it's clean. Though I will admit, if there's a fro in a theater I don't want to sit behind them because I can't see. Unless it's a kids play or a recital then I'll hope for one.

Speech or text is that the words you use matter, because as you speak you paint a picture, there are matter of facts like a story, then there are feelings attached to that story, little side lines that gives better contrast, tl dr speech is hard, conveying messages is hard, a lot of the information that we ourselves contain is lost in the message, then it's filtered thru the receivers end.. Such as, biases but not only.. The line "As a black woman" paints absolutely NOTHING, there is no individual richness on that canvas.. It should go something like As a Human, As a European, As a Hungarian, As a Boy, As-.. and you slowly start going into micro details about yourself and what it means to live in that skin of yours.. We have the capability to fill in the blanks, but lord hold me back cause if i start to fill that Fire will be under the privileged and i hate to use this word now, but don't expect me to see you on stage, in a dress costing twice my home and fill in some sorry ass story for you after the line "As a black woman" just cause yourself can't come up with one cause it wouldn't be true.. Empathy is not a endless well, it's a resource.. Just have a rough week where empathy is your duty and responsibility, then you'll know how emotionally sickening it is to care about anything and everything. l rather use that precious resource on the people that matter in my life.. Then to use it on someones vague-blank canvas on the other side of the globe Before you get it twisted, it's not like these people are complaining about their families, or their friends that supposed to attend your wedding, or your dog being very sick, your children failing grades, your partner not treating you right.. I have heard people complain about man approaching or being objectifying regarding woman in workplaces.. Somebody has to point out tho so are man by other man or Woman, not a one sided thing surely different in both cases.. I could learn a lot about Black people and Woman as well, truly do.. But i feel this is a one sided endeavor, do all the work, and you'll be known or understood none the better but you'll carry the burden of other peoples as well while they literally straight up hate the idea of learning anything about you.. Until the world won't understand this, this Woman, man, ethnicity issue won't ever dissipate.. I may not suffer Racial attacks, constant hitting on in the workplaces, but holy i have other things to tell you about..

(edited for grammar and spelling errors) unfortunately the money said otherwise. I’m pretty sure celebrities only get married and have babies with one another as a publicity contract. Marriage and having babies gets them more money and more fame. Celebrities couldn’t just marry some no name person it wouldn’t boost both of them it’d just be weird. It’s like nobility marrying nobility but modern day

If she’s so sensitive about her hair you think she would just go get hair implants or a wig she’s clearly rich enough to do so. I’m not making fun of her baldness I’m just saying it simple for her to find a solution for it.

Nah, a pimp slap goes over and down, so after the slap, the pimp is literally looking down on the receiver of the slap so as to solidify the notion that he(the pimp) is above the slapped Will didn't even fully follow through with that slap

I have a heart condition that's arguably much more serious than alopecia. I don't get upset enough to smack somebody for making a joke about me being like an old man at 25. If my wife went and smacked somebody for making a joke about it I'd be the first to say "what the fuck are you doing?"

That's why these few celebrities and people who spend too much time on the internet shouldn't be taken as an example of broader society. For every one person who cries on twitter that the patriarchy is responsible for stubbing their toe, or that systemic racism keeps them from wanting to learn how to change a car tire, there's over a hundred normal people that just do what they gotta do and don't complain about it, like yourself. Good luck to you and the missus, happy wishes and all that.

Worst part about it is that there are treatments to fix it, she just refuses to get them because it brings her more attention

@@sly_cat I'm taking medication that helps with my condition and it's helped a ton but I still have trouble doing basic jobs. I can skateboard a bit but I can't lift stuff and it really bugs me that people are justifying slapping someone because they made a lighthearted joke because of a very easily treated medical condition. At least she doesn't have trouble finding work like me

The whole Oscars thing really has put on display how the western world has their head so far up in the clouds they aren't even on the same stratosphere anymore. Jfc, people are losing their damn minds, are quick to get emotional, everyone is offended, polarization is high, & any criticism risks one getting accused of being a bigot. What the heck man.
