Exactly, the body uses chemicals/hormones for emotions, but making hormones takes time so the body will often store the hormones for quick use. So someone that has often had instant reactions with a certain emotion has trained their body to store those hormones in excess for quick use. When your body needs to store THAT much excess anger hormones, its going to develop bloating (and even extra fat, I think?). This is why Stoicism is so important, it trains your body to not have kneejerk reactions by just dumping hormones at every problem, leading to a healthier more varied balance of all emotions in healthy doses rather than overreactionary doses.

The reason why some people become rage-aholics is because they keep feeding the angry side of themselves. Anger is natural and has it's purposes. But if your brain gets the sense that you are angry more often, it will start to prepare and adapt to this supposedly hostile environment. Like a warriors off to war. Anger management trains you to learn how to calm tensions, get more self control, redirect those feelings to a passion, and become more reflective of why you are angry all the time. Only advising to "let it out" (in a safe way. Workout, screaming into a pillow, punching bags) when you feel violent to others and need to let it out. But it is something you aim to ween yourself off of. I think this is where this practice isnpires from. But ironically, "rage rituals" really might just be training your brain to make you upset and unhappy more often and unnecessarily. Seems like a path to misery. Feels like a therapist went "We trained them toxic habit, as a practical joke."
@sintanan4697 ай бұрын
Decades ago there were studies done that show venting your anger by hitting things just makes you rely on hitting things to calm down, and this attitude can evolve into hitting animals or people. So... these rage rituals might be a bit more concerning than you realize.
