The core of most arguments I hear in these kind of vids is the absence/lesser amount of fear. The fear of being physically harmed, loosing your job, your house, getting sick, not being able to pay medical bills, not being able to achieve your goals because of your economical background or the color of your skin, etc, etc. The lack of safety regarding your present and future in a general/global sense. Much of the USA runs on fear and fear is consciously used by the powerful to manipulate the people.

Our constitution was made in 1949 because of the Nazi experience, to exclude such happening forever. And it is not called constitution it is named Grundgesetz, which translates to basic law. And that is taken seriously. Nowadays recently there are massive demonstrations from people of all age, profession, and political standing all over Germany, in biggest or smallest communities against the rightwing movement., which sympathizes with Nazi ideology and threatens our "constitution" We very much fear movements like in Hungry, Russia, or Trumpism.

Autoritarianism is part of the german cultural core beliefs (unequal heritage as explained by some historian and sociologists, like Todd). It s only a matter of time before it comes back under one form or another. Currently, neofascists from dritte weg are the most likely destiny for Germany. And seeing how fast it is coming back, i ll bet we ll see it during the next decade.

I feel like today, Germans, in general, are more focussed on guarding towards extremism fascisme or what ever you want to call that mentality (Trumpism, would probably be the modern version 😁😜). Maybe more then anywhere else in the world. Because of the history. That's just my perception! So I am not claiming to know this as a fact. But that IS my perception from what I have seen. Not that there aren't hateful people I'm Germany, or anywhere else! As I always say: "There are idiots everywhere!" No matter where you go, there WILL be idiots! There will be violence, murder, anger, anxiety, rape, sexism etc etc etc... But some places those mentalities and behaviours just gets handled better then in other places! 😊

I was born in the Netherlands to my American mom. She always told me these grand stories about her life in Texas and how great of a country the US was. So as a kid I always dreamed to one day move back to the land of the free. However, as I grew up and got older I realised that life here in the Netherlands isn't bad at all. I would love to visit my family in the states sometime now that I have grown up. However, no money in the world would be enough to make me actually move there.

The basic law (constituion of germany) was written 1949 after the third reich and as an answer to this dark times. By putting basic human rights into the constitution it makes sure there are lines that can't be crossed. The German constitution was worked out between September of 1948 and June 1949 by a "Parliamentary Council" (elected by the parliaments of the then 11 states in West Germany) with the intention to avoid the mistakes and errors which led to the failure of the Weimar constitution (which was in place 1919 - 1933), especially the articles which allowed the President and the then Nazi-dominated parliament to work together in effectively abolishing it. The Parliamentary Council also tried to take away any possibility to thwart or diminish basic human rights, independent of gender, ancestry, language, religion or place of origin. Therefore some articles of the constitution like Article 1 (as well as Article 20 defining Germany as democratic, social and federative state and a right of resistance against anyone trying to abolish this order) are defined as unchangeable in substance and base for every amendment to the constitution.

The rent thing isn't much of a Europe of even Germany thing though. Leipzig had Detroit levels of depopulation only a generation back as a result of the young people moving west after reunification. The city only just recovered so of course the rent it low, the city was halfway empty one generation ago. In the UK one time I needed an emergency dentist, I rang my dentist and they said they were full of appointments but don't worry I should ring the NHS number 111 and they will find me one very fast. I rang them and they asked me some routine questions at the end to make sure I didn't have anything else. One of those questions was "Have you any pain or discomfort in your chest area?" I was like " To be honest kind of yea, it kinda feels a bit tight but it's fine". Then they were like "Ok sir well we are going to send you an ambulance it will be with you shortly". I said "nooo don't do that that's crazy!" Then they said that it's policy that whenever anyone complains about their chest on this phoneline that they send an ambulance, and for free of course. The ambulance came and I was very embarrassed and apologetic they poked fun at the situation and at me, but said it's standard procedure and it has happened to them many times. Still think it was over the top but it's nice to know that people care I guess.

Tightness in the chest is a classic symptom of angina. If you have angina, you are at significant risk of a heart attack. Of course, 'tightness/pain' is a relative term, different for different people with a wide range of severity. So they play safe and assume the worst - better safe than sorry.

That's one issue that americans have is that living with your parents is looked down upon, funny enough I just turned 30 today and I've been living with my mum since I was 25 left at age of 18 moved to London then moved back 6 years later. I only have to give my mum £150 a month compared to £550 for my own place plus 100 150 for food then everything else you have to pay when you have your own home. I don't pay any tax because this house isn't under my name. So I'd save alot if I didn't smoke weed for medical reasons.

Why is what constitutes a constitution in Germany called the Grundgesetz/ basic law? At the time it was written Germany was still occupied by the Allies. While the three western allies had allowed their sectors to unify, the Soviets had not allowed theirs to unify with the west. As such the framing members of the Grundgesetz decided to call it that to differentiate it from a true constitution as those are written for sovereign nations, and usually abide by fixed borders and territory. As they didn't want the Soviet sector to take a "declaration of Constitution" as a sign of permanently accepting the separation into east and west Germany they used the legal trick of calling it something else in the hope of a fast unification. Alas, it was 40 years before the Soviet Union collapsed and Germany was allowed to reunify. Especially since both France and the UK were still somewhat afraid of a reunified Germany. The USA however were happy to support the sudden eastward expansion of NATO territory so they used their considerable clout to sway French and British opinion. Gorbachev's nodding off made the deal real.

German was actually surprisingly, what an american would call "progressive", before the NZ's. Part of what fuel their rise to power was a conservative response from some parts of german society. (Emphasis on "parts of"! It is faaaar from being the sole reason why it happend!) Not sure how much of it was inshrined in law before the NZ's takeover tho...

You should make a dot on the horizon for moving to Europe to realize your pipedream. Than you can plan a visit (if you have the money for it) to come over and check out the countries you are interested in. After that you can make real plans to sell your stuff and make the jump. Otherwise is probably never happen.

Typical they wrong people are in jail, are homeless and in tailerparks. Best på price often is legaled plundering. Its very visible in Hospitals and medicine. Many mention it often here.

If you watch all the videos about people who DO NOT want to return to the USA, you will start to think how rotten the country actually is. Look, you can't help it that you were born there, you don't know any better. But in the long run you will learn more about the countries OUTSIDE the USA and you will see how things can be different, more freedom, more socialism, managing your own time (even if you have less income) better wages compared to the USA such as the newspaper deliverer here who earns more than twice as much as someone who works in a restaurant or bar there in the USA. and you can continue with the list, which is much better than there, but then you have a book that you can compare to an encyclopedia, too crazy for words. The problem is that many in the USA have too much debt (given healthcare) and therefore have to do everything they can to make ends meet, and you don't even have the freedom to go on holiday normally... let alone that you can afford a ticket, it is really too crazy for words, the bigwigs only think about money and the ''minorities'' can fall to pieces.....

So its true, but another thing they're not noting though (living as an American in Europe) is that the weather is extreme now, of course all over the world, but to keep in mind. All wonderful things aside socially but yeah weather is brutal everywhere just more colder and drastic up here in Europe. The only reason I want to go back to the U.S honestly is basically you can be yourself, open and express it yesh (positively and negatively) and of course social circles are huge, lots of people are social & food, Tacossss. I miss it. To stay in Europe would be because its peaceful in some areas, work life balance and I don't have to fear my kids getting shot at in school.
