That's crazy. My very first day as an athletic training student, I was immediately hands on. Within ten minutes, they had me working on ultrasound, stim, massages, etc. It's really cool to see how different schools run their programs. I feel the athletic training grind! I worked with our cheer and dance teams for this past year and we had 5 am treatments and practice every morning for cheer and then dance would do treatments and practice at night. It kept me very busy but I loved every minute of it!

You are 100% right I’m also an AT major and most people don’t understand how tough an AT program is, especially Junior year it’s a whole new beast.

I hope the athletes listen to you more than the ones at my school😂😂 we had three kids with heat exhaustion today cuz they weren’t drinking enough water. But I also work in my highschools training room so maybe ur athletes are a little smarter😂

Danny, do you have any advice for me? I’m on the fence between athletic training and physical therapy because I love sports and want to help athletes directly but I have a weak stomach for brutal injuries (open fractures, lots of blood). I really want to work specifically on rehabilitating injured athletes get back on the field or court. I’m about to go into my senior year as an Exercise Science major!
@joebiedermann80815 жыл бұрын
jzmnhrrs I’d go shadow a physical therapist and an athletic trainer. That way you can see a day in the life of both. Physical therapist who work with sports team usually have an athletic training background and specialize in sports. Exercise major is a good one as well. Good luck!

i might do a video on this soon! many people have been asking me about the differences However, I need to keep doing my research to create my own opinion and give you a good answer. All I will say is this: I work/have clinical rotations with both and they are very similar.

Cool video, athletic training is something that's sounded like a career I'd enjoy but I've never been too sure of how it works because I don't know anybody personally who's ever pursued a career like it.

Sooo is this an actual program with the school? How many hours are you putting into it? And is it a mon- Friday program? I'm currently in community college but I want to focus on athletic training! I'm currently taking kinesiology classes. But is you program class based or only "hands on"? ThNks for the info!
