I love watching people declutter makeup and skincare. I myself have recently realised that I have too much of both. So I am making a conscious effort to really try and use stuff up to get rid of them, before opening something new. Not have million eyeliners etc open at the same time. I have also started putting stickers on skincare with the date I opened them, so I can keep track of expired stuff easier. It helps me to be on top of throwing stuff out.

Jess, I’m only a minute and a half in but I wanted to express to you how admirable it is that you put such a positive spin on things in such a mature way. NYX has a new line of products called "Bare With Me" that includes a "Tinted Skin Veil" that is like a tinted moisturizer but with great staying power. I would love to see you review that line. And Maybelline has a new foundation "Urban Dream" with an SPF 50 that is supposed to be a dupe for It CC CReam. That one has been released in the UK but says "coming soon" to the US. Not sure why they would release to the UK first but would love for you to review that one as well. Thanks!!

I'm always amazed on how much stuff you declutter and I feel like you're realistic when it comes to what you're actually going to be able to use and not let it go to waste. I appreciate that about you a lot. I see people that just keep makeup just because of packaging and they even say I'm never gonna use it but the packaging is cute, I don't understand that way of thinking at all like you rather have tons of makeup that you know you never going to use and let it expire instead of donating it to someone even if its a family member who would actually use it and appreciate it just blows my mind. The one thing you gave away and I was like no you have to try it its really good was the covergirl exhibitionist mascara lol.

I love watching your declutter videos. They really inspire me! I have recently made a rule to myself that I have to start using stuff up. I never finish makeup items, and then they get old or I forget I have them. So I have banned myself from buying anymore for the time being, until I start making a sizeable dent in the collection I already own. I also now put stickers on all my makeup and skincare products showing the date I opened them so I will know how old they are getting.

I luv watching ur PR declutter - I hope you do them more often (once every 3-6 months maybe?). I am overwhelmed by all the makeup companies keep sending out to influencers. I don't watch GRWM or first impressions or product reviews anymore or even favourites (unless it's you/Risa does Makeup/Jen Luvs Reviews/Tati because you guys are truly your own person and say what you mean). All these new makeup, it's just too much. I only keep to buying up to 10 makeup items per month now (usually drugstore on sale) - even that is TOO MUCH for a makeup junkie like me. I wish there are more influencers like you 😍

Yes, us normal humans have to save up and really think about the exact item we want. This is why it’s hard for me to trust reviews when it’s PR. When you get this much for free it is impossible to review in the same way as if you saved up and bought it yourself.

The whole point of PR is marketing and high exposure to increase the amount of sales/revenue. So in actuality sending products to "normal consumers" has no value to these companies. The average consumer doesn't have a large influence/presence like a lot of these IG & KZbin gurus do. So it doesn't make sense for a company to spend money to send out products to your average joe if there isn't anything to gain in return. It's a sad reality. Hence why you see brands like Tarte sending gurus out on these lavish trips. They see it as an investment because they know the influence these people have on consumers. Spending $30K on one big influencer with a million subs to endorse your product isn't much when you take into account that if in theory each one of their subscribers bought a $20 product, that's a sale of $20 million.

Note to other KZbinrs* THIS is how you declutter. The KZbinrs that have drawers and drawers of unopened makeup, 30 of the same foundation in every color imaganible, and 1000 tubes of lipstick that cannot possible be used should watch Jessica do her declutter videos. Here is an idea for PR: why don't you do a PR unboxing once a month and give away what you don't want within the month you got your PR if you know you don't wanted or won't used? This would be a smart thing to do before the expiration date of some products.

Kiki Lal it works best on either really thin liquid shadows or bare eyes :) it’s a felt tip liner but it doesn’t hold a lot of liquid so it’s perfect to not oversaturate one spot but it takes a few swipes to line. The end result is gorgeous though :)

I got it a while ago and actually, it was so disappointing for me. The formula was great, but I’m fair and pink-undertoned, so when I put it on over shadow, it just looked like I had rubbed off a bit of shadow right at my lash line (or forgot to blend to my lash line) and when I wore it alone, it barely showed up. Whomp whomp for me. Hope you have better luck with it!

Kristin Cook I agree with the over shadow! It crumbles and you have to layer over and over. If I use a liquid cream shadow that’s thin and neutral or brown, it works. I’m medium/tan so it works but I can totally see for someone who’s pink and fair it won’t work! Hope this helps :) I’ve also used it as a double liner with black liner for a double wing too!

I have a system I use to make sure I m trying what I want to try. I have a small bin from IKEA that I keep on my desk and I make sure to grab at least 2 things from it a day. Then after I've formed an opinion it either goes in my no bin or into my drawers. If the drawer is too full, then I have to either say no or pull something else out.

That Givenchy lipstick with the different lids was the only one that it looked harsh (for me) to destash. I love when makeup has a beautiful reusable package that I enjoy pulling out of a nice handbag when I'm out and about. Women used to refill compacts and stuff and it wasn't just makeup, it was a handbag accessory. Of course the color and formula has to be good, but I do love a heavy metal luxe package. Very old fashioned.

Great declutter! I’m not a believer that every declutter has to be cut-throat, however lately I’ve been watching a lot of declutters where the KZbinr starts the video by stating they just have way too much and then they have a reason not to declutter almost everything and by the end they have decluttered like 5 things. Now again, I don’t think declutters have to be cut throat, but if they start by stating they just want to go thru what they own to see if they had a few to get rid of that would be different, but it’s like they are stating they know everything will go bad, but then can’t seem to part with anything. In my opinion, don’t do the declutter than. So I appreciate you are doing what you say you do. Thank you!

Hi , I did a declutter because it was causing me stress ! And after I gave all my drug store makeup to my family only because my alex nine drawer Alex unit was cluttered and it was making me anxious I just couldn’t find anything I wanted , so now I just have high end products one drawer is a hair drawer one drawer is a backup drawer because again I get agitated if I don’t have a replacement , but now I can see everything, my eyeshadows are from two different brands , and now it’s a joy just to sit and select what I want to use and it’s a joy , even looking at my products makes me happy ,

Hey Jess just in case you didn't know ( cause I for sure didn't until a month ago) colourpop pallets shadows are magnetized. So if you try the green shade and love it you can pop out just that and pass on the rest of the pallet to a sister.
